Blush -Illamasqua - Hussy
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 2/2/2011 8:07:00 AM

This Illamasqua blush in Hussy is really an ideal blush, as described before me. It has a rosy-coral feel or look to it. It's a color that you really cannot nail. But it pulls off a natural, wind-swept coloring to the face. It does not clog into the pores, making a glaring statement of ineffective product. It seems to float on the face in its finely milled powder. You need only a tiny pounce of a Mac skunk brush and apply. Here's where blushes, either live up to excellent, or poor. I hardly have to blend the product all along the edges to make that natural look. It blends unbelievably well. This little fact is important to me because of my difficulty on blending. Sometimes, with mature skin, the more you blend, the more you are squishing the product into the lines or pores. That's not good at all. I'm a definite follower, now, of the Illa blushes. I ordered Unrequited and Tweak and will update you on them later in the week.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Grumpy Girl Fruity Loops
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 12/8/2010 1:19:00 PM

Grumpy Girl is a novel company, assigning outrageous names to quality soaps, creams, scrubs. Fruity Loops is a complex soap derived from an array of fruits! Alas, the name! It cleans without a great deal of suds. And rinses clear easily. Only wish the scent would linger more.

Gels/Soaps -Primal Elements - Dragonfly
rated 5 of 5

Primal Elements makes a wonderful floral soap that appears like bits of stained glass all over with a 3d picture. This one is a dragonfly. It smells glorious. It is a blend of floral notes, leafy greens, touches of tangerine, exotic woods, and settles to soft musk. (That's the description of the soap on the label) I would definitely re-order it as well as other fragrant soaps. It lathers well. The scent lingers on the skin. It makes bathing a spa experience. Love it. You should try it.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Ultra Gloss Flash Mauve Accent
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 12/8/2010 12:53:00 PM

This Mauve Accent (Flash) in Ultra Gloss by Dior gets a "10." Not a gloss person, per se, since I enjoy full coverage on the lips, I succumbed to this beauty even without trying it on. It's a wonderful watermelon, pinky red, very sparkly with gold sparkles, and the bonus? Very, very, very wet. But, it just doesn't last on its own after 2 hours. This afternoon, I have layered it over a hot pink lipstick by Lancome called Wannabe, and we'll see if the wetness is still there after a few hours. I see myself relying on this as a coverage gloss over those lipsticks, which, by themselves, don't have much dew to the look. Wannabe is a cream or satin lipstick, and one of my favorite pinks in my collection. I would not layer this over YSL Rouge Pur Couture for instance. I would guess that would be a gloppy mess. My next ultra gloss would be a gold or neutral so I could wear it over more lipsticks. Don't get me wrong. By itself, it doesn't command attention to it except to say it's a pale pink on my lips, with extreme shine. That look, combined with full eye makeup was rather nice this morning. I usually try to emphasize one or the other, to avoid clown-like effects. It's not real sticky, and it's moisturizing, and the color is APPEALING. I give it a 10.

Bath Treatments -Primal Elements - Sweet Revenge Bath Bomb
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 12/3/2010 7:52:00 AM

"Sweet Revenge" is actually a nicely moderately strong scented oil in the form of a little cupcake with icing on top that you toss into the water, and watch it fizz. The result is a very nice moisturizing treatment on your skin and you do feel caught up into the nice aroma rapture! This little freebie was in my recent Grumpy Girl order and is definitely on my wish list for a future order. The plus side was that the bath water didn't leave a ring around the tub like most oils. The listing should show "Grumpy Girl" not Primal Elements.

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Coconut Cream Pie
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/23/2010 9:55:00 AM

Pink Flower Scents (PFS) has done it again in this awesome sugar scrub called Coconut Cream Pie. The aroma is absolutely a dead ringer, and you'll want to order more in her line in that particular fragrance. The crystals in the scrub dissolve, and don't pose a problem on coarseness or roughness. The underlying cream is very moisturizing. The scent lingers for a brief while out of the shower. I now prefer the scrub to soap! Try it, it's heavenly.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Le Rouge
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/9/2010 7:54:00 AM

The new Rouge Pur Couture called "Le Rouge" is absolutely a true bright red! Can't distinguish bluish tones or warm, or whatever, I can only see what I see and that's a true red if you are searching for "the one." It's marvelous at moisturizing, it's long-wearing without changing color, and it's slightly shiny in a satin texture. This was my first YSL lippie. The next one will be in the nude or pink category but that will be in the future as this one will set you back $30. If you plan to wear anything in the bright red category, then you need this one to finish the look! I find that my choice of lipcolor has to be complimentary to the outfit I'm wearing.

Candles -Unlisted Brand - Haley's Heavenly Tarts-Banana Nut Bread
rated 4 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/9/2010 7:39:00 AM

Banana Nut Bread, a tart, is a dead ringer for the real thing baking in the oven. No "off" smell. Just perfect. One lippie off because the throw could be a bit stronger!

rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/8/2010 9:14:00 AM

Pink Flower Scents (PFS) has another faithful follower, as proved by an awesome product called Lemon Buko Pie in a Souffle Body Frosting. Creamy, wonderful smelling, it has all the advantages comparable to high end brands found in department stores. Definitely a re-purchase. Try it, you'll LOVE IT!

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Pure
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/8/2010 9:02:00 AM

Pink Flowers Scents is my all time fave for bath products. I have a new order with great freebies and this "Lemon Pure" was a freebie. Since I ordered Lemon Buko Pie Souffle Cream, she read my mind and sent Lemon Pure soap in the shape of a heart. Wow: you talk about wonderful smelling! The whole bathroom smelled glorious after applying both products. I will definitely order this in a tart as well as in the scrub products. Can't speak highly enough of this etailer.

Eye Makeup Remover -Make Up For Ever - Sens Eyes
rated 4 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/2/2010 8:52:00 AM

This cleanser is effective for removing eye makeup, along with liner, and mascara. It is gentle and non-stinging if caught up in the eye. Cannot detect a smell, but that could be my nose! A quality product.

Candles -Unlisted Brand - Trick or Treat
rated 4 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/2/2010 8:35:00 AM

Haley's Heavenly produced a nice cheesecake tart, with a final note of strawberries. Throw is fairly effective. Terrific smell; not plasticky, or sickening sweet. Just lovely, I'd say.

Masks -Laura Mercier - intensive moisture mask
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 11/2/2010 8:27:00 AM

This small sample, from a gift with purchase, is the greatest mask! Just a small bead amount covers the whole face, let set. Then rinse away w/warm water. This leaves your face totally soft and smooth. For some reason, it seems to transform the texture of the face to a smooth canvas for that 1st hour. After several hours, you do feel like some of the moisture has risen to the surface, but not tacky. All in all, directions say, daily application. With my oily skin, (mature), it didn't raise any millia? or acne. I would definitely purchase full size when tube is exhausted. P.S. This smells heavenly, like rose petals.

Masks -Origins - Clear Improvement
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 10/22/2010 12:47:00 PM

WOW! In a word, "superb." 1. Tightens pores to the extent of looking a darn good deal blank canvas, no holes. 2. Cleanses skin to a squeeky clean without dryness. 3. Skin is immediately similar in softness like a baby's bottom! 4. Clarity and texture are smoother. 5. The clay treatment dries suddenly & you don't have to wait around for rinsing the stuff off. 6. No offensive odor 7. No resulting milia, acne, pustules, etc. Thank God. 8. You don't need a follow-up of toner, etc. 9. Doesn't leave your skin greasy, tacky, or with residue. DEFINITELY A BELIEVER IN ORIGINS NOW (1ST TIME I VENTURED INTO STORE LAST WEEK AND BOUGHT THE ENERGY OIL CLEANSER AND GINZENG) THIS WAS A FREEBIE AND I WILL PURCHASE IT, ONCE IT'S GONE.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Powder Blush - Peony
rated 5 of 5
sweetgardenangel 10/19/2010 7:34:00 AM

Bobbi Brown's Peony Blush is ideal for my fair coloring. I already purchased Pale Pink and that is still lasting me forever since last year. Peony is just a tad more punch than Pale Pink, and I LOVE IT. By placing this powder blush over my Becca cream blush: 1. it lasts forever! 2. never settles into creases 3. never turns orangey 4. doesn't produce oil for oilies girls like myself 5. never turns splotchy or muddy It's a quality product and you won't regret buying it.
