Cleansers -Kiss My Face - Clean for a Day Creamy Face Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

I LOVE this cleanser. I was looking at Shoppers for something organic and fairly inexpensive... when I saw this for $6 and some change (it was actually labelled wrong, but they gave me that price anyways) I had to snatch it up. I was a bit hesitant in using it when someone meantioned that the ingredients in this could potiently cause acne. However, I used it with my Clarisonic, and my skin has cleared up nicely. This smells SO absolutely wonderful, and leaves the skin feeling so smooth and fresh feeling. I only use it in the morning so I can't claim that it removes make-up, but it does remove oil and dirt without making your face feel tight.

Nails -Sally Hansen - Self Adhesive French Manicure Guides

I really like these when I'm too lazy to do my manicure freehand. Only problem is that I can't put a strengthening coat underneath because no matter how longer I wait, the strips always pull up the basecoat. I also find that you have to press these down VERY firmly to ensure that no polish seeps underneath. I usually use a cuticle pusher (because it's rounded) to get it right to the edges. Now, however, I just do them mainly freehand. These aren't curved enough for me.

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin

These are the neatest little things. I also have trouble putting my hair into a simple bun, but these so easily do the job! Because I don't want to spend so much on just two spins, though, I got the ones off Ebay.

Hair Styling Tools -Vidal Sassoon - Answers Ceramic Hair Straightener for Coarse Hair
rated 4 of 5

Having wavy/curly hair. I don't straighten my entire head of hair. Instead, I use this for my bangs. It works like a charm for it, and heats up to great temperature to get the job done. Mine has lasted me for over a year and for $20, I can't beat that.

Skincare - Face -Clinique - Acne Solutions Line (all products)
rated 1 of 5
summerrain1994 2/18/2011 4:01:00 PM

This line did nothing for me - luckily, I only got the small trial kit so it's not like I had huge almost-full bottles left over. I used it right to the end and nothing. I've never really liked Clinique products, but I thought I would give this a try. The only thing I kind of liked was the toner... it was a basic toner, though, that I could get for much cheaper. The cleanser didn't seem to clean my face very well and the moisturizer left my face tight.

Eye Shadow -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow in Glow Nude

I picked up just about every colour of these awhile back when my LaSenza was having a 10 for $10 sale (they were ridding of them all). Normally I would have never picked this up, but I love the colour now! When I'm in a rush or too lazy to do my eyeshadow, I dab a bit of this on the middle of my lid and it instantly opens my eyes! I have to admit, the applicator sucks and the powder is messy and falls onto your cheeks, but because I love the colour, I'll work with it

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush

I've used this brush for both liquid foundation and pressed powder - it's worth way more than three dollars to me! I use it to stipple foundation and it gives me great, even coverage. It's a little large, but I don't mind, because I just use a sponge around my nose and eyes. Had not come apart on me!

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Pressed Translucent Powder
rated 4 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 2:56:00 PM

I would never use this powder when I put on my make-up in the morning - it's very white (and I'm very pale), and NOT translucent. I DO use this, however, at school and at work when my face gets oily and shiny. I wouldn't suggest using it with the little sponge it comes with it, because it gets cakey. Instead, I use it with a mini (very mini) Ecotools Kabuki. It blots up the oil nicely and gives the slightest bit of extra coverage. Gotta love the price too! Though the packaging it VERY cheap, I really don't mind.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
rated 4 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 2:53:00 PM

I recieved this as a PWP before Christmas at the Body Shop. At first, the smell repulsed me and I didn't touch it. I think it's more of a earthy/masculine scent - something a guy would wear. After watching it sit in the bottom of my beauty basket, though, I decided to try it out. It was perhaps one of the best handcreams I have ever used. Because I HATE the scent, I put it before bed, and then I really don't/smell like it. My hands and my cuticles are so amazing when I wake up!

Liquid -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup

I bought this product when my skin was very dry, the lady at Shoppers recommended it to me. Unfortunately, it did nothing for my (once) very dry skin. It just make it flaky, and looking horrible. It also made certain parts of my face oily (which was odd at the time). BUT, once my skin began very oily (I'm a teenager, so my hormones are out of whack and my skin changed drastically over the last year or so), I decided to try something new with this. On the days when I didn't feel like wearing foundation, I mixed this with whatever moisturizer I was using. So far it's my favourite to mix with Body Shop's Vitamin C SPF 15 moisturizer. I find it gives the perfect amount of coverage when I do this. I usually did a 1:1 ratio between this foundation and moisturizer (more foundation if I wanted more coverage). So yeah - good in making tinted moisturizer, not so much as a foundation.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Instant Cuticle Remover
rated 5 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 12:36:00 PM

I love this product for my cuticles - I leave it on for just a minute and then use a cuticle pusher to remove the cuticles. They I wash my hands because if you leave it on for too long it will burn. This is wonderful for removing cuticles and softening them. I also use it underneath the nail to remove the dirt/skin/etc under there.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails - Gunmetal
rated 5 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 12:30:00 PM

Love this colour - it's so unique for a drugstore polish. The price is to die for - at Wal-Mart it's almost always on nail for a dollar or two. I have pale skin so I usally stray from darker colours, but this is one of the few I do own and love!

Cleansers -Clinique - Rinse-off foaming cleanser
rated 4 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 12:27:00 PM

I recieved this as a gift with purchase and didn't touch it for over a year. When I ran out of my current cleanser, though (I was experimenting) I went to see to test it out. It does remove make-up very well but leaves skin feeling dry. You definitely have to tone and moisturize immediately after using this. I only use at night and a cream cleanser in the morning. I'm still on the fence as to if I will buy the full size or not - the dryness of it is a turn off, but it removes my heavy foundation well.

Treatments -The Body Shop - tea tree oil
rated 1 of 5
summerrain1994 2/12/2011 12:24:00 PM

I really dislike this product. First of all, it's very expensive - $9 or $10 for a third of an ounze. It did nothing for all as a spot treatment - noticed no difference at well. The most I do with it now is mix a bit with my night lotion (Ponds) just so I have some sort an acne-fighting ingredient in there. Still, I don't notice too much. Also, I used a cotton swab (q-tip) to apply this, and I wasted so much. The packaging is just horrible because there's no sanitary way to apply this AND not waste a buch. It always soaked in the q-tip and I had to use like an eighth of the bottle per night. Will NOT repurchase

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme

I suppose I have the travel size of this because it is teeny weeny, but I love this product. I use it as an eye cream because I don't have undereye circles/puffiness - all I need it moisture. It's wonderful for that and in the winter I'll use it on my dry spots. A little goes a long way!
