Cute green with gold frost, but over time this polish gets very goopy. I love the Underground brushes, I'm really sad that Rimmel discontinued that line.

Polishes -OPI - Princesses Rule

Meh. This is one of the cruddiest OPI polishes I have ever tried. Its cute in the bottle, but it does nothing for the nails.

Polishes -Butter London - No More Waity Katie
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 9/12/2011 2:51:00 AM

So pretty and flattering, and as another reviewer said, this color is VERY unique. I really adore this. I can't understand all of the negative reviews. This polish applies well for me (it does need three coats, but that is NOT unheard-of in the nail polish world) and wears very well. Overall I am very impressed with this polish and it makes me want to purchase more Butter London stuff.

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 9/5/2011 3:03:00 AM

The best thing about this product is that one jar will last for YEARS. I have had mine for about two and I swear I'm only about halfway finished with it. It covers nicely and is pretty reasonably long lasting. Overall, I like it. I can't say that it's a HG for me, but I'm not sure I would know a HG concealer if it bit me in the butt.

Palettes -TheBalm - Cast Your Shadow Palette The Muppets
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 9/5/2011 2:58:00 AM

Let me start by saying that I love this palette. I did buy it mostly because I am a big fan of The Muppets and I just had to have it. I was fortunate enough to be a part of theBalm's first preorder that they posted on Facebook, which was a great relief since I was scared I might not be able to get the palette when it officially went on sale. I think this palette really is an excellent value because you get 16 shadows that are about the same size as Urban Decay or Mac regular shadow pans as well as three cream lip stains/blushes that are over an inch wide. For the $44 price tag you get a lot of product. I wouldn't say that any of the products offered here are radically unique, but they do perform very well. The shadows are as follows: Tres Moi: warm dark reddish brown with pearl finish Wocka, Wocka: dark olive khaki with a shimmer finish Meep Meep: amber gold with an almost metallic finish Mahna-Mahna: very deep brown with gold pearl Sensational: medium cool taupe with a slight shimmer and pearl finish Inspirational: medium dove grey-brown pearl Celebrational: warm medium taupe with shimmer (very similar to Sensational, save for the undertone) Mupptational: gunmetal with a metallic finish (similar to Inspirational in the pan, but obviously different when applied.) Woman, Woman: forest green pearl Curtain Call: lilac pearl Great Gonzo: bright blue pearl Kissy, Kissy: smoky eggplant semi-matte Wild Child: butter yellow metallic Lab Coat: bright white metallic Hiii-Yaaa!: soft peach metallic Swedish Pancakes: fleshy pink pearl Rainbow Connection cream blush/lip stain: bright coral cream Le Diva cream blush/lip stain: raspberry pink cream blush Electric Mayhem: peachy nude glossy lipstick (Note: All of the cream products are the same texture, which is a solid creamy consistency like Stila Convertable Color, but Electric Mayhem is listed as Lip Gloss while the other two are listed as Lip/Cheek Stain.) Aside from the quality and the Muppetness of this palette, I like that there's a separate flap to cover the cream products so eyeshadow dust doesn't contaminate and ruin it. I think theBalm put a lot of work into designing this palette and they really paid homage to The Muppets. Everyone now knows that this palette is the same as the upcoming theBalm & the Beautiful palette that should be on sephora.com for the holidays. I prefer The Muppets packaging, but that's just me.

Fragrances -Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Perfume Oils
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 9/2/2011 2:16:00 AM

I am not going to get all super-poetic or anything, but I will say that I adore BPAL. As a previous reviewer said, it is like art. In my experience, the fragrances are so much more real. BPAL's rose notes smell like roses. I've tried some high-end and some less expensive perfumes and they all just smell like perfume. BPAL oils smell like beautiful conglomerations of the notes that they contain. I was pretty skeptical that they could make so many blends and still come up with unique stuff, but I've sampled some things here and there across their catalog and I just love everything about this company. I think I've totally fallen out of love with Chanel and other high-end perfumers and now BPAL is my true love.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon effects
rated 1 of 5
slippingbeauty 8/2/2011 12:18:00 AM

Again, I am the downer review. I followed the instructions very closely and these only lasted for about a day and a half on me. I had high hopes that these would bee good to use on vacation, but the application took a while. (It really would've been faster for me to paint my nails and use a quick dry TC.) I used a strengthening base coat and applied the strips exactly per the instructions. They seemed like they were adhering pretty well, but even by the next morning they seemed a little loose. I started noticing SIGNIFICANT tip wear after about 24 hours. I wasn't working or doing housework or anything, I was on vacation. I have never experienced so much tip wear with any polish in my life. The price bugs me too-these are more expensive for a single use than most Sally Hansen polishes! In the same amount of time that it takes to apply the strips you could do a nice mani with SH Insta-Dri polish. Don't get sucked in by the cute designs, this product is NOT worth it.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Matte
rated 2 of 5
slippingbeauty 8/1/2011 3:31:00 PM

I had high hopes for Sheer Matte. Siberia looked like it would be a good match for my very pale skin, and it is. Regretfully, that's really the only good thing I can say about this product. I understand that "sheer" is in the name of this foundation, but it literally gave me NO coverage. Like zero. Tinted moisturizer evens my skintone out more. Also, the package is completely awful. Even if the foundation worked, it would take all day to get out enough to actually cover my face. Finally, it smells weird. All in all, I am wholly disappointed in this product.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Cream Eye Liner - Midnight Brown
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 6:06:00 AM

I really like this product. It's not supposed to be dry and hard, so for heaven's sake if you have a dry or hard one TAKE IT BACK TO THE STORE. It's a cream liner, it's supposed to be creamy. I have Midnight Brown in a duo with Thunder that's at least a couple of years old and neither side has changed in texture at all. This product applies and wears nicely, so I would repurchase it.

Eyeliner -Jordana - Fabu Liner Liquid Eyeliner Pen
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 5:58:00 AM

I am a little afraid that Walgreens is no longer carrying this product. That would make me sad, because it's a wonderful liner! I hate the stupid name, but the product is so good that I don't tend to worry too much about it. The tip is just firm enough that it doesn't flop around but soft enough that you can easily do a flick on the outside corner of your eye. It's a nice rich matte black that's not too much or too little. It's also very pigmented, which I like. I bought this product solely on the recommendation of the Makeup Board, and I am so glad I did.

Eye Primer -NYX - Eyeshadow Base in Pearl
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 5:54:00 AM

Please note: THIS IS A BASE, NOT A PRIMER. The most important thing about this product is that it is NOT supposed to prevent your eyeshadow from creasing or fading. The purpose of this product is to help your eyeshadow adhere better and give it more pop. In that context, this product works VERY well. Shadows seem to stick to the lid much better and look smoother and prettier. I've also noticed that this base in particular gives an almost wet look to shimmery shadows (similar to the way that Dior shadows look when applied.) I am taking the rating down from five lippies to four because the package really does kinda stink, but overall the product is great and a tiny bit is all you need.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational Lipstick My Mahogany
rated 3 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 5:51:00 AM

My Mahogany is a shiny caramel brown with no shimmer. I like this lipstick, but it's nothing too spectacular. I bought it because I don't have any other brown lipsticks in my stash and I figured I might need one eventually. It is flattering since it doesn't have a very strong undertone.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner in Strong Slate
rated 4 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 5:49:00 AM

Strong Slate is definitely a "slate" grey. It's somewhat blueish and very dark. It's nothing like UD 24/7 in Gunmetal, but texture-wise and wear-wise it's a much better product.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner-Bold Brown 02
rated 5 of 5
slippingbeauty 7/24/2011 5:47:00 AM

I've been on the hunt for a while for a nice dark brown liner that lasts, and I finally found it. Bold Brown is a dark matte brown that leans slightly cool. It wears VERY well on me, and I tend to only be able to wear long-lasting liners. This is a very high quality, smooth, wonderful product for a relatively low price--rush out and get this!!
