Lipstick -Nivea - lip care pearl and shine
ricerice 5/21/2008 11:17:00 AM
like all the other comments here, it is too frosty white for me, it makes me look like one of those ganguro japanese girls when i use it. luckily i got it for free. its ok to use it lightly for a little shimmer and top it up with another lip gloss to give your lips an extra shimmer, but other than that, i wouldn't use it on its own and apply it thickly. this lip balm still moisturises very well (like the essential one) so i'm still using it (only at night just before i go to bed when no one sees me lol) hoping that i'll finish off the tube and not let it go to waste. and no i wouldn't be buying this again. overall i like this product because it moisturises well and makes me laugh whenever i use it because it makes me look ridiculous. :D

Lips -Nivea - Lip Care
ricerice 5/21/2008 11:10:00 AM
This is a review for Nivea lip care -Essential. I've bought so many tubes of this its unbelievable =.= i keep losing them!!! why cant i lose the ones i hate instead...lol. anyway, i really like these because its a really basic lip balm that does its job, nothing fancy (i reckon) and i like the packaging a lot, no more dirty fingers and its so convenient, i wont look like a make up freak by reapplying it during the day out in the open since it's so quick and easy to use (especially unlike the ones in tubs where i have to spend so much time scooping it out with the back of my finger nails etc. you get the drift). i just realised that i lost it again, so i'll probably be heading out to get another one very soon (luckily it's so cheap). btw i look one lippy off because its not the most moisturising balm i've used, it works for everyday lip maintenance but not very dry flaky lips i sometimes get during winter. but i still highly recommend it

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex
ricerice 5/21/2008 10:49:00 AM
upon application, this product applies very smoothly, does not feel sticky or greasy at all which i really liked about it. thats all the positives i can say about this product. i've actually only used it a few times, every time i used it, it was because i thought i would give it another go since i liked how nice it made the skin around my eyes feel. The first time i used it, i woke up with puffy eyes ! i dont usually wake up with puffy eyes unless i am VERY tired, but this eye cream really disappointed me because it actually gave me puffy eyes and made me look tired!. i wouldn't know about the effect it has on dark circles or wrinkles because i'm unable to use it more than once and then wake up to remember why i was so afraid to continue using it the last time. i really wanted it to work because i've actually gotten it as a gift twice but had to give it away, and the SA made it sound like the perfect eye treatment too. :( will not be purchasing this in the future.

Lotions/ Creams -Aesop - Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm
ricerice 5/19/2008 9:45:00 AM
love this hand cream!!! its the best i've ever used (not that i've tried any other expensive creams lol, but i've tried all the cheaper drug store ones and they're crap). i've been using this since i was 12, my whole family uses it, and we often get complimented that our hands are soft, yay lol. it softens any hard skin especially if you focus on rubbing the cuticles. it may be a little greasy, but for the benefits its very worth it. i like the smell of this, not artificial smelling. will buy this again (although it may be expensive, but i find buying the large pump bottle works out to be cheaper, and will last you ages since you don't need alot every time you use it.)

Treatments -Jurlique - Arnica Cream
ricerice 5/19/2008 9:35:00 AM
i went to jurlique looking for a scar fading cream (for my acne scars on my face), i heard from forums that the eldar cream was good for that but the SA from the store insisted that arnica would be better for scar fading purposes. it did not work for my scars at all! it does work on bruises extremely well though. bruises don't normally bother me all that much but i was going for a ball the next day and wanted my legs to look good so i applied some over a large bruise on my shins, surprisingly the bruise was nowhere to be found the next day. This is a great cream for bruises but since i was looking for a scar fading cream, it annoyed me alot that the SA gave me wrong advice (remember not to listen to SAs ever again! forums are the best).oh and it clogged up the skin on my face when i tried to use it for scars, i dont even want to risk getting milia by using it for dark circles. i'll give it 4 lipps for it being such a good bruise treatment, i just bought it for the wrong purpose, but i wont be buying it again because i dont get bruised easily and bruises fade with time (no need to spend so much just to get rid of it).

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
ricerice 5/19/2008 7:34:00 AM
the first time i used this was when i was out one night, i was drinking and i had the 'asian blush', i used a powder puff (which i bought separately) and it actually partly covered the 'blush' which surprised me. i tried using a powder brush to apply it this morning and it didnt work as well, my brush did not pick up the poweder well and it didnt make my skin oil free for long. This is better for touch ups during the day. but the packaging is crap, the lid does not stay on, theres no mirror. i dont know why i gave this product 4 lippys, since there are so many bad things about this product, but i do like this product alot, though i wont but this again because if i just paid around $5 more, i would be able to get a pressed powder with a mirror (which is really important to me)

Loose Powders -Maybelline - Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder
ricerice 5/19/2008 7:07:00 AM
this powder is surprisingly good, i use this one in medium (i think) and i'm an NC 25, it;s the perfect shade of colour and does not show on my skin at all. it gives your skin a very smooth finish and keeps the oilies at bay for only about 4 hours (without reapplications), i cant really ask for more for a product so cheap. i will deffinitely buy it again (i used to use jurlique silk dust but i'll deff switch to this when i finish jurlique because this is much finer and doesnt leave a white cast).

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Skin
ricerice 5/19/2008 6:56:00 AM
im quite dissapointed in this product. i dont think it did much for me at all. i think my sunscreen acted as a better primer than this. The shimmers in this are so large, i could actually see the individual shimmers,( Rimmel's brightening recover perfect skin primer is so much cheaper and its shimmers are so much more subtle, and is way cheaper too, although just like this one does nothing for the lasting of my foundation). it did not make me look any better after i applied my foundation over it. and it only kept me oil free for 4-5 hours max (which i believe isn't really the result of this primer, it is most likely my finishing powder). wont be purchasing this again, i'll still use it till it's finished. i've only used this a few times ( hopefully, fingers crossed, i will grow to like it more so my money hasnt been wasted ><). at the moment, i wont be repurchasing this.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner
ricerice 5/19/2008 6:47:00 AM
i've only used this a few times and i love it already!. this it the only eyeliner that doesn't smudge on me (apart from MAC;s liquid last eyeliner, but that product is more for a made up look) and looks very natural. i wore this to work today, and my eyelids usually gets really oily and i end up looking like a panda towards the end of the day, but this did not happen today!. btw i used a crappy cheap brush, i need to get a better one soon. i like this better than MAC;s fluidline because the black is more intense but still natural and it seemed to last longer the last time i tried it on the back of my hands.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Buffering Lotion
ricerice 5/19/2008 6:27:00 AM
like the other person below me, i bought this product in Australia, so i did pay a fair bit for this product. This lotion does help the healing process of cystic type acne, it helps stop the enlargement of the pimple, but this is no overnight miracle treatment, which is quite dissapointing because i was really looking for something that will help heal my acne faster (lol i know im very unrealistic). took one lippy off because of its runny consistency (which has casued alot of wastage) and it dries out my skin and causes it to become flaky. i'll only buy this again if i dont find a better treatment by the time i finish this bottle. overall this is not a spectacular product, just an average one (might i add that i also use Shiseido's The Skincare Purifying Mask as a spot treatment overnight and it does the same job, except i wont be able to use it during the day obviously because it's a mask)

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment
ricerice 5/19/2008 6:11:00 AM
this is the best lip product I've used so far. i like that it keeps my lips soft and if i want to exfoliate my lips, i just apply a thick layer of this on and it will soften the dry skin on my lips so that i can rub it off with a piece of wash cloth. i took one lippy off because of its packaging, i know that its not made to be applied to the lips directly (since it isn't specifically a lip product) but when the seal is removed, it leaves the top a little jaggered (if you know what i mean) and i wont be able to use it directly on my lips without using my fingers and getting it dirty (i really hate this about lip products as i dont want my fingers to get dirty eveytime i want to apply lip balm). I'll buy this again because its cheap (im still on the look out for a non-petroleum lip balm though).

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Style Surf Hair Texturising Spray
ricerice 5/4/2008 10:55:00 AM
i like this more than the surf hair paste just because it's easier to use and wont get my hands all dirty. it makes my hair look too poofy and dry if i spray it in the hairs below my ears. i spray it at the roots of my hair to give it more volume, it works only to a certain extent, but it falls after a little while, so theres pretty much no point in using it. i gave it 3 lippies because it great as a holding hair spray when i tie my hair bank (similarly to the paste), nothing too strong to prevent movement. i wont buy this again because i can get a basic hairspray for cheaper than this.

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Style Surf Hair
ricerice 5/4/2008 10:44:00 AM
i use this product when my hair is dry. i use it when im tying up my hair and want to lightly hold some hair back off my face, i like the matt effect . i dont use it when my hair is down because it wont do much for me, probably because my hair is too long and thick. if i finish this product i wont be buying again because it doesnt do what i expected it to do. i bought it expecting it to give me tousled beachy hair, but all im using it for is just to hold my hair back.

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis Fortifying Shampoo
ricerice 5/4/2008 10:33:00 AM
very regular shampoo, does its job by cleaning your hair, thats it (im not sure what else im supposed to get out of it anyway). i hate the cap of the bottle, its so difficult to open! and the smell of the shampoo smells like body odor lol luckily the smell doesnt stay in my hair (which i usually like in shampoos). i wont buy this again.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Vitamin E Moisture Rich Conditioner
ricerice 5/4/2008 10:04:00 AM
just a regular conditioner, doesnt really do much and makes my hair feel a little smoother but thats all, not very moisturising. this is my second bottle, i only bought it because it was really cheap Lol. i selected no for buying this product again because i doesnt do much for me, but when im low on money and desperate for something to smooth my dry rough hair, i'll buy this if its on sale.
