Cleansers -Fancl - Washing Powder
rated 4 of 5

This was fun to use initially. Wet my hands, pour a bit of powder, and lather. I love its faint milky scent. It is gentle and non-drying. Thumbs up as a cleanser. EXCEPT, there's a 60-day window in which I have to finish it. I only got a half-size and I couldn't finish it even when I use it twice or thrice daily. It is just way too expensive to repurchase every 60 days.

Cleansers -Fancl - Mild Cleansing Oil

This removes makeup well, though the mascara takes a bit of time. It's gentle, emulsifies and washes off really well. I love how it has no added fragrance. I follow up with my regular facial cleanser though. I hate the 120-day expiry and I'm convinced it's a gimmick, because HABA's products last longer and they have no preservatives as well. I have since found another cleansing oil that works just as well and doesn't have an annoying expiry date that I have to remember.

Another great, non-gimmicky product from Cetaphil that does what it claims to do. It moisturises, and it does a great job without irritating my skin.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

I've been a really loyal user of this product since a cleanser of Dove's gave me rashes that scabbed and peeled and flaked. It healed my skin almost instantly. This cleanser is simple, non-gimmicky, and non-drying. Over the years, I've tried some other cleansers that promised me ridiculously perfect skin but never delivered. I've always gone back to Cetaphil. I must've used over 10 bottles of this.

Blush -Maybelline - Dream mousse blush in soft plum [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:59:00 PM

This has a really blendable and soft texture and looks more natural than any powder blush I've ever tried. I love it's light, smooth texture, and it goes on really pretty.

Mascara -Wet 'n' Wild - Silkygirl Lash Maximizer Waterproof Mascara
rated 1 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:54:00 PM

I think it's possibly the worst mascara I've ever tried. It looks like a copy-cat version of L'Oreal Double Extension, but doesn't even work half as well. The extra length is frankly negligible (I can't see any). The mascara doesn't seem to attach to my lashes and takes about 5-6 applications for my lashes to darken. After which my lashes have all clumped together to bear an uncanny resemblance to the hair on Tweety Bird's head. And oh, the mascara also weighs down the lashes like no other. No amount of heat managed to curl my lashes after that. In short, this mascara gives you clumpy, short, sparse, and poker-straight lashes. Avoid at all costs!

Lotions/ Creams -Dove - Body Silk
rated 5 of 5

I love this for its light, silky texture. It goes on like a dream and moisturises pretty well. The scent took a little getting used to, since it's quite strong, but it has grown on me. The price is so unbelievably cheap. If it's a facial product, I would've hated the tub, but since it's to be applied on my body, I love how I can dig into the tub to get as much as I want effortlessly. I could also get every last bit out!

Pressed Powders -Wet 'n' Wild - Silkygirl Lightening Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:46:00 PM

The powder itself does what it's supposed to do, at a really low price. I bought this in 02 Light, and it looks really natural. It lasts all day. I never use the sponge/puff thing though. It sucks. I apply it with my regular powder brush to set my makeup. The packaging is kinda lousy and cheap looking, and also gets old-looking really fast.

This does absolutely squat. I finished the whole tube, and I never saw any results. No flattening of pimples, clearing of pores or anything at all.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Silkygirl - blush in Dune Rose
rated 4 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:34:00 PM

This gives me a pretty pink and natural flush. It is quite lasting. It does what it's supposed to do without an exorbitant price tag attached. I hate the packaging though. It is ugly, cheap-looking, and the cover broke off on me. The packaging also tends to look old very quickly.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
rated 1 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:30:00 PM

This is much worse than some of the drugstore concealers I've tried. In fact, I would go as far as to say it's probably the worst. The texture is waxy, thick, and dry. It is really hard to apply, and goes on very cakey. It emphasised every single tiny line I had, even those I didn't know existed. The coverage was bad despite how horribly thick it was, and it wears off really fast.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - DUO eyelash adhesive
rated 3 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:25:00 PM

This glue is quite lasting, and much better than the horrible Ardell Lashgrip I have tried. It usually makes my lashes stay on all day, though it may loosen at the sides if I yawn and tear. But it's not waterproof, so maybe the waterproof version will work better. It also dries clear, which I love. I hate how it has no applicator though. I have to use a cotton bud to apply the glue. This is the exact same thing selling at MAC counters. I bought this at the counter for a hefty 16 Singapore dollars, which is exorbitant. It is definitely selling for much less on certain websites. Edit: Revised the rating to 3 lippies because while it is better than the very first eyelash adhesive I tried (Ardell), the hold just isn't strong enough to warrant 4 lippies. It's a decent glue if you don't tear when you yawn, but I find myself having to touch up the glue throughout the day due to watery eyes.

Misc Beauty Tools -Ardell - Wild Lash Beautiful
rated 5 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:19:00 PM

This is cute and pretty, and looks like it will last forever. The lashes are slightly spiky, and most definitely look fake, but they're not too dramatic for a day out shopping. The little rhinestones at the sides add a bit of glamour without being over the top. It is really easy to clean off the glue. I simply pluck the glue residue off, without even eye makeup remover.

Misc Beauty Tools -Ardell - Invisibands Fairies
rated 5 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:14:00 PM

This design is very pretty - delicate and fluttery, and natural. It's made of real human hair, so it looks very real, like I have naturally long lashes. I get compliments about my eyelashes often, and some people do not know they are fake until I tell them. It's comfortable to wear. The transparent band makes mistakes less obvious, and also gives a very natural look. Ardell lashes are very lasting as well. I can usually use a pair of Fairies for a month with almost-daily usage. I find that the longer I use it, the prettier and more natural it gets. Some strands do fall off everytime I clean it, but that is what makes it look more natural. To clean, I dab some eye makeup remover on the lash band, and gently pull out the glue. I'm completely addicted to fake eyelashes, and I know for a fact that not all of them are as easy to clean as Ardell's.

Eyes -Ardell - LashGrip Adhesive for Strip Lashes
rated 1 of 5
reverie 4/26/2008 11:04:00 PM

This is the absolute worst glue I've ever used. I can't go 2 hours without worrying that it will fall off on me. My fake eyelashes look really odd and ugly when applied with this glue. It claims to be waterproof, but half of my lashes loosen whenever I yawn (with tears). It takes really long to dry as well, so that makes it really hard to apply my lashes. It doesn't dry completely clear, and you can totally see whitish bits. It also has no applicator, so I have to use a cotton bud to apply the glue. What a waste of money. Thank goodness it is cheap. I have since moved on to DUO surgical adhesive and I no longer have to worry about my eyelashes dropping off when I'm gazing into the eyes of my beloved :P though it's not perfect.
