Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System
neveranaddict 8/16/2010 8:09:00 AM
This is a reeditted review after I complained about everything there is in this 3 step system (I use mild soap solid, lotion no 2, and DDMG) until I realized I just didn't let it work on its own at all... I was using another night cream over DDMG and during the day another cream too. My pores would not get any smaller and I had dry patches too. But out of laziness I gave up the aditional creams and stopped after DDMG. In 2 days I have to give it 4 stars. I do have minimized pores and the dry ares and discolorations almost gone (it is true I have been using it anyway for 1 1/2 month now but w/ the aditional cream). And foundations last and are easier to spread too. The best thing however is unified skin tone and minimized pores. I think my skin may be oilier than I am willing to admit even if it is combination. I think next I will go deeper w/ lotion 3 and the liquid soap for oily skin. DDML is not good for me, even though I love its smell, its compounds just make my pore bigger even if I wear it after night. Many ppl use type 2 because they are afraid of type 3, but anyway my recommendation is for any combination skin to use DDMG instead of DDML. I think DDML is really just for people who have a problem w/ dry skin only. *UPDATE* I will be giving this a 5 now instead of 4 because my skin definitely benefitted from this skincare regime. When my skin did get too dry I bought a moisturizing serum - Optimum from Superdrug) to apply at nite instead of DDMG and it restores textured really fast. Finally the creams do sink into my skin (yes the *bad* alcohol in that toner) now and this shows. Also my pores are significantly smaller on my forehead I can't believed this happened (the Clinique SA told me is unlikely to happen from this system but it did). Yes the lotion is drying but if you use a stronger cream at night not just DDMG your skin will be ok.

Liquid -Rimmel - Recover illuminating anti-fatigue foundation [DISCONTINUED]
neveranaddict 8/16/2010 7:58:00 AM
This is a fairly good foundation for its price range. I use it even though my skin is combination, but on winter days I needed something more moisturizing and to give my skin some glow because it was dull from the cold days. The coverage is between low and medium. You have to shake bottle well before each use because otherwise you will see it's a two-phased foundation made from a serum (the recovery part I guess) and the pigment (very fine and smooth). This does not make my skin breakout, it does some treatment to it (it's always smooth and hydrated when I take the foundation of), it does not oxidize, and it gives a nice healthy glow to the skin. And considering its low price, I'd call it a bargain.

Shampoo -Garnier - Fructis - (Colored hair formula)
neveranaddict 8/16/2010 7:53:00 AM
This shampoo does not nourish my hair but it makes it greasy. Because it doesn't cleanse it too well it doesn't make it shiny either. I have curly fine dry hair and I thought a little nourishing will do no harm to it, but Garnier Fructis for Color Treated Hair is by far the least of my favorite drugstore shampoos. Other Garnier shampoos are better but this one is as cheap as its price.

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain de Force
neveranaddict 8/14/2010 6:40:00 PM
I bought this product because I have fine dry curly hair that sometimes breaks. This turned out to be not the best choice for me. The KS told me I should probably use the Bain Nutrition line since my hair is fine true but mainly dry and Bain de Force is not very nourishing. This product is a little difficult to rinse but I was warned about this for all KS shampoos, because they have built in treatments in them they must be rinsed very carefully and patiently until your hair is cripsy rinsed. This product did not help me much about breakage (I used it w/ its conditioner) and not so much with dryness. I really loved it though for its smell. It didn't hurt my hair but also didn't repair anything. If you have fine but very dry hair this shampoo is not right for you. It's not nourishing enough. You need the Bain Nutrition line to make a difference. It's true I bought this on my own, at no KS stylist advice, because I thought it made hair stronger. It didn't. I just needed the nutrition not the force.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Body Butter - Cocoa Butter
neveranaddict 8/13/2010 9:51:00 AM
This butter's smell was so strong that even though I liked at first use after a while I just became hating it. It won't be absorbed in the skin too well during summer either. I haven't noticed any difference in my skin after the short time I used it except that it smelled too strongly and it was sticky and annoying on warm weather... Will never buy again.

Polishes -OPI - I'm Indi-A-Mood For Love
neveranaddict 8/12/2010 11:17:00 AM
It is a very vibrant honest fuchsia pink, with good consistency when first bought (first layer might even be enough) that works well even with untanned hands (and looks great on darker skin tones I think). I see the connection with the name too ;-) Very flattering, my favorite pink colored lacquer. Last 7 days too sometimes.

Polishes -OPI - I Only Drink Champagne
neveranaddict 8/12/2010 11:13:00 AM
I bought this because I wanted something cool - I was thinking goldish shimmerish nail lacquer to look all summer-like. Disappointment. As much as I was agitating the bottle almost before each nail the first layer is uneven, the second layer so and so, and if I put a 3rd layer it takes 4ever to dry w/out a topcoat speed dry. And the color looks a little sick-lish for me. Like my nails are pearly colored but yellowed (which is not a good thing for nails..). Anyone looking for a gold nail lacquer don't buy this one.

Treatments -OPI - Nail Envy Sensitive & Peeling
neveranaddict 8/12/2010 11:10:00 AM
This product did not work for me. It just did not make my nails resistant and sometimes I even had the impression it worked against them! (could be just me though). I find it hard to apply sometimes it's sooo gluey and it literally creates a very fine thin hairline-like conector between the brush out on the nail, and the product left in the bottle - so weird.. I think they meant to create some glue for the cheaped nails to stop chipping, that's all. I've used the Yves Rocher Nail Treatment and half the price of this OPI product that fixed my chipping nails instantly! I was so disappointed I ever wasted money on OPI Nail Envy...

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Bottega Verde - Night Treatment Sensible Skin with Couperose
neveranaddict 8/12/2010 10:26:00 AM
This is an animal friendly night cream for sensible complexions, it contains no perfume or paraben. Ingredients are : Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera, Zanthoxylum alatum from Iris, Camomille, Plantadyne, Karite Butter, that help the skin build natural imunity to pollution, sun damage, and increase the strenght of face's tiny blood vessels. I have fair combination skin that gets easily irritated. I apply this cream at night and it goes instantly in my skin (T-zone too) and calms my skin down instantly. it is a little too nourishing for my T-zone but it never ever broke me up on the contrary, acne scars heal better and faster since I've been using this. In the morning skin is plump, hydrated and the extra shineness I wash it off with Yes To Tomatoes Facial Gel. PRO: visible brightening and evens out the skin tone, calms down all irritation, helps heal acnea scars, plumps up dull skin, helps redness disappear, absorbs fast in the skin, never irritates; it's not too expensive, does not contain perfume or parabens, and is not tested on animals. CONS; NONE! Comme mi piacce! (hope I wrote this correctly:D)

Eyeliner -Pupa - Multiplay Triple-Purpose Eye Pencil
neveranaddict 8/12/2010 7:32:00 AM
This is the blackest black pencil eyeliner I ever bought. The black is true black (blend out you get black blended out, no tints or grey or blue or brown in it). The tip is so soft it is hard to sharpen it to use it as a thin-line eye pencil, but this pencil is not designed to give you a harsh line look, but to be blended and smokey. And it does so like no other eye liner that I ever tried. I gave it 4 however because for eyes that are even a little hooded you need to take extra care in fixing this eye pencil, or it will smudge like crazy (no, I don't think it works for Asian eyes at all). But it's literally an eyeshadow in a pencil form, you can smudge it like any eyeshadow and get the purest color possible (whatever the color the pencil is that is EXACTLY how its mark it will be). I also think it has some moisturizer in it because it doesn't dry the skin at all. I found that all eye pencils smudge on me un-fixed, so if there will be smudge, at least let it be a Pupa Smudge.

Pressed Powders -Avene - Couvrance translucent mosaic powder
neveranaddict 8/11/2010 9:25:00 AM
This is the best powder when you feel your skin itchy and you want to take shineness away from it but you fear that using any makeup will irritate your skin. It does not cover much but it's a powder. It never creases, or cakes up, but building up is useless so better to reapply than to try to build up with this product. I am very fair and brought the lighter mosaic and one thing I LOVE about it is that it just DOES NOT LOOK POWDERY. It's like my skin only the shininees and unevenness is taken away from the skin. It look matte but translucent too, natural but matter like in one of those high edge fashion pix with models with freckless but otherwise matter healthy skin ^_^. (no it does not cover freckles either...) It does need a concealer underneath. All the above are PROs. The only CON is that I wish they sold it with its own aplicator.

Cleansers -Avene - Gentle Cleanser for Intolerant Skin (no rinse)
neveranaddict 8/11/2010 9:17:00 AM
I used this product when I got really irritated skin because of an indigestion problem. It instantly calmed my skin down - red areas were becoming normal skin color. It is for all skin types so if you have a specific problem like oiliness you should use this only when you absolutely need something to cleanse without any sort of irritation. It also calms down irritatied ares caused by waxing. I successfully used this cleanser as a treatment for any irritation even after I began using a different stronger cleanser for combination skin.

Treatments -Avene - Diroseal
neveranaddict 8/11/2010 9:13:00 AM
This is a product that works wonders on redness especially around the nose area (after a while of using it I got less of a rudolph nose during cold winter time). A friend of mine, with severe broken capillaries, used this cream for 2 whole years without interruption (and without putting any other cream on her face, also washing and toning with Avene). She did get her capillaries fixed. So THIS WORKS but only if you are dedicated to the treatment and persistent. I have never heard of any other product that works for broken capillaries on the face than this. Since I suspect later in my life I will get them too I plan of using this product. I hope they never discontinue it. PRO: fragrance free, no oiliness so you can use the color concealer too or any makeup from foundation to powder; it actually works; because it calms skin down the pores are closed and skin looks better; calms down winter redness on nose and chin; very sanitary package; one tube will last you almost 8 months of applying it two times a day everyday if you only need it around the nose area. CON: None (price maybe...) I strongly recommend this product to anyone with broken cappilaries or if they know they might get them one day (DNA inheritance from their moms) to prevent them.

Toners -Avene - Cleanance - Anti-Shine Purifying Lotion
neveranaddict 8/11/2010 9:05:00 AM
Until I found the Avene products I used to think that products for oily sensitive skin do not exist and that all products for oily skin strip skin off with their alcohol overdose. PRO: very gentle on the skin and calms it down it irritated; eliminates shininess and closes pores; fragrance free; CON: it is still a product for oily skin so skin does get dehydrated after extensive usage. To people with combination oily skin I recommend this to be used with pauses - like one month usage and 2-3 months use something else. But other than this, it's the best product for oily skin because of it's calming and dermatological properties.

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Face Wash
neveranaddict 8/11/2010 8:55:00 AM
This was a good face wash. However if your skin is oily sensitive it might irritate or dry it of, depends on how sensitive it is. I got irritated after 3 weeks of daily use (two times a day). While I was using it I did not notice any improvement in skin appearance except that it did diminish oil production and shininess to some extent. The bottle is a little hard to squeeze especially with wet hands.
