Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 glide-on in Electric
melangerehab 12/10/2011 2:10:00 AM
Bright eyeliners seem weird and off-putting at first, but they can look really good. This is a really cool color and it pops on pale skin, though I think it would look good on all skin types, tbh. If you're feeling lazier and don't want to mess with a lot of makeup, just a quick tightlining with this color and some mascara and you're good to go. I think UD's eyeliners are highly pigmented and have pretty good staying power. They might look a little bit smudged by the end of the day, but I haven't met a friendly eyeliner that DIDN'T smudge, really. I can't say I would rebuy this, though. It's a good color, but it's not THAT good.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Sin Eyeshadow
melangerehab 12/10/2011 2:03:00 AM
I don't have many eyeshadows that I use regularly, I just try new looks with my available shades... except for this one. I wear Sin as a wash all over my lid on my lazy days. It's just a really flattering color for paler skin. It's a soft and shimmery pinky champagne color. It's not neutral, but it has a modest amount of pop for being such a light color. I recommend this shade - It's great, it's my absolute favorite.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Brush Cleanser
melangerehab 12/10/2011 1:55:00 AM
I like this for spot cleaning my expensive brushes, especially my two precious MAC brushes. It works pretty well but sometimes one rinse isn't enough, which is why I gave it a four. It leaves brushes soft, but I've found out that crappy handmade bar soap does a better job of getting all of the gunk out of my brushes while leaving them soft, so overall, I feel like this wasn't worth the money. It's too expensive for something just used to clean brushes.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
melangerehab 12/10/2011 1:49:00 AM
I have tried a handful of concealers, but this is my favorite. You only need the sliiiightest bit, and you're good to go. Great for covering up dark circles. Blends well. I love it! It's worth the money, but it smells a teeny tiny bit funky.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
melangerehab 12/9/2011 10:40:00 PM
I really love this brush. I haven't used it to apply anything but my translucent setting powder, but it feels really nice on the skin. The bristles are soft and durable, and after a lot of wear and washes, it has still kept its shape. It's a staple in my collection, but I have given it a four because after only a couple washes, the ferrule because loose and wobbly, and I was a bit disappointed because I take extra special care of my brushes when I wash them and make a point to avoid getting the ferrule wet.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Shine Eraser Blotting Sheets
melangerehab 12/4/2011 1:09:00 AM
I like these sheets, they do a great job for the price. My skin doesn't get very oily aside from my forehead, so one or two usually does the job, and it doesn't mess with my makeup. If your oiliness is worse, I would suggest something else.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
melangerehab 12/4/2011 12:56:00 AM
Thanks to reviews on this product here at MakeupAlley, I bought this stuff and have been using it as a toner. The first time I applied it, I applied it straight on my face with a cotton ball - BIG mistake! It stings your eyes SO BAD if you don't dilute it. Dilute it with water and you might have minor stinging but nothing horribly painful like the first time I endured it, haha. My skin tone looks more even, and I'm not sure if it's the toner or not but my dark circles aren't as dark and my bags aren't as puffy, too! My skin is clearer, less oily, and my face feels oh so soft after applying this stuff. It's worth it. It really is. I'm so glad I found about about this product. My skin is healthier and I am happier.

Concealers -Maybelline - Cover Stick
melangerehab 12/4/2011 12:21:00 AM
I have both green and yellow. Yellow is for undereye circles and green is for redness. If I could give a review to both, I would give the yellow a four and the green a two. When I have redness on my face (usually just zits) they are a very angry red, and it clashes quite a bit with my pale skin. I do not find that the green concealer helps. It is a HORRIBLE concealer for zits because no matter how carefully you apply or blend, it will still get caught in the edges and just look horrible like pimples tend to look when you put makeup on them, only they're green as well. Not helpful at all. I'm guessing if you had natural redness, like rosacea, it would do you some good, but I can't say for certain. I like the yellow and use it every now and then, but it's definitely not my go-to. It's waxy but with a little TLC it'll blend well. It's not perfect for covering up underye circles, but it helps. I wouldn't recommend it but if you are new to makeup the yellow might be worth trying.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Natural Smudge Brush #11
melangerehab 12/2/2011 1:02:00 AM
I bought this because of reviews here, and I have to say I'm really pleased. Before I bought it, I often looked at pictures of girls with smudged eyeshadow and wondered what I was doing wrong, and why my eyeshadow, especially below my lower lashes, looked drab and dull and badly blended no matter what I did. This brush fixed that. It's great for smudging both eyeliner and eyeshadow. The bristles are stiff but they do the job. It's a good high quality brush to have.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm
melangerehab 11/23/2011 10:51:00 PM
I'm gonna put this lip balm in the same camp as Burt's Bees and say that it's yet another product that I don't understand the hype for. The packaging is terrible - you have to get your finger all greasy to apply it. It doesn't smell like strawberries to me, only petrolatum. It's greasy and slimy but doesn't seem to moisturize all that well. I'm going to use the rest of it up, but I don't like it and I won't buy it again.

Toners -Neutrogena - Alcohol-Free Toner
melangerehab 11/23/2011 10:10:00 PM
Eh, this stuff is meh. I swore by it for a while, but it doesn't do much for oiliness. It makes your skin soft and clean but like other reviewers are saying, it does its job and nothing more.

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
melangerehab 11/23/2011 9:49:00 PM
These strips are LAAAAAAME. Rarely gets gunk out, in my experience - probably because my blackheads aren't that bad. But still! I get poor results no matter what I do. Apply right after a hot shower? Doesn't matter. Scrub the nose, apply baking soda like the beauty blogs suggested? Doesn't matter. I would expect them to do something since they were so expensive and since they hurt so much taking them off, but NOPE! Nothing. Waste o' money. I'll get rid of blackheads the manual way, I suppose...

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Covet
melangerehab 11/23/2011 8:29:00 PM
I love all of UD's eyeliners, they're creamy and pigmented and have staying power. This color in particular, Covet, is a rich jewel-tone teal, and it's just beautiful. I get compliments on this a lot, and I love making a cat eye with it for a unique upgrade from the traditional black cat eye. It is one of my favorite eyeliner shades from UD and I might actually buy another one once mine runs out.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Dizzy
melangerehab 11/23/2011 7:56:00 PM
Dizzy is a great color. I keep seeing reviews saying that it's pink, and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! It definitely looks more berry to me, though the pink is there. Very shimmery shade, though, I wish they had a matte version of this. Still pretty, still flattering. I still think there are a lot more lipsticks out there that have more to offer, so I won't buy this again.
