Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color - Candy Cube

this is a really cute product and i think is the best quality pink coloured eyeshadow you could buy. it looks great on, and doesn't make your eyes look too red like some pink eyeshadows can. it's got great staying power too.
This has to be one of my all-time favourite beauty buys. it definitely is my signature scent and i always get compliments from guys and girls alike when i wear it. it smells a little bit like peaches and it's so uplifting and puts me in a great mood whenever i wear it. i also love that you can buy shampoo, conditioner, hair spray etc in this fragrance to help it stay with you all day/night. the packaging is ok, but with all the beautiful bottles that are coming out at the moment, i wish it was a little prettier
i love this perfume, it's subtle and sexy and perfect for a night out. but i bought the 50ml bottle and i've used less than half of it and i'm already sort of over it. i'd still recommend it though, because it's a good quality perfume. i wish the packaging was a little more attractive though, it's sort of plain and a too much like a man's cologne bottle
Styling Products -Ralph Lauren - Ralph Lauren Ralph Get Hold Of Yourself Hair Spray

this is a great new product which i absolutely love. it's sort of expensive, but well worth the money. like the perfume, it smells divine and definitely helps with the staying power of your fragrance if you wear Ralph Lauren's Ralph perfume. my only complaint is that it does make hair stiff and should only be used sparingly as a final spritz once your style is complete. use a professional salon hair spray to actually hold curls or braids in place and then use the Ralph hairspray at the end so your hair smells divine
Loose Powders -Revlon - Skinlights Face Illuminator [DISCONTINUED]
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:36:00 AM
I bought this in Golden Light Loose Powder when the Skinlights range first came out and it has seriously lasted me for years - i use it every day on my cheeks to get a bronzed look, and it has never run out. it still looks like i haven't even used any, there's so much still in there! i've also started using this on my decolletage and arms and legs over moisturiser when i go out at night to get shimmery, golden look that always gets compliments. the only problem is that the packaging is bulky and a pain to take on vacation etc so i'd recommend putting some in a smaller container to take away with you. also invest in a good applicating brush because the brush provided is too thin and not really soft enough. apart from this, this product has been one of the best beauty buys i have ever got!
Mascara -Estee Lauder - MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:22:00 AM
This is a great quality mascara - it thickens and lengthens the lashes beatifully, but you'd expect that with such an expensive price-tag. i really prefer Lancome Hypnose to this one, and Maybellene's Lash Expansion is just as good half the price
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Defining Duo Eye Shadow & Liner
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:19:00 AM
this product has lasted me forever and i really love it! i got it in the Golden/Bronze 03 colour and i love the easy application it provides. the golden shadow colour is gorgeous either on it's own or worn on top of and blended with a purple or green eyeshadow to give it that more glitsy, glamourous look. i don't use the bronze eyeliner as an eyeliner, i think it's too light for that, but i use it as an eyeshadow and sometimes dab it lightly under my lower lashes for a more subtle dark-eye look
Eye Shadow -Revlon - Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad - Va Va Va Bloom
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:12:00 AM
this has lasted me for quite a while and i particularly love the golden colour, which looks great with bronzed summery make-up. the dark purple colour on the far right is also a great alternative to dark grey or black eye-shadow if you want that sexy smokey eye look for night time. i recommend blending the golden colour over the dark purple one, or over any other eyeshadow, particulary a green coloured one, which will give you a gorgeous mermaid look. i don't really use the pink or lighter purple colours on the left because i find they look sort of cheap. the packaging is a bit of a problem, because if you have long nails they can get in the way, so you either have to suffer with this or invest in an eyeshadow brush to use with it.
Moisturizers -Garnier - serum oil control moisturizer
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:06:00 AM
this really was a great addition to my shine-controlling arsenal, it provides a completely shine-free base to apply my make-up over, and lasts for about 4 or 5 hours, and for such a cheap price, it certainly is worth the money! Update: I've realised this probably is a little too harsh for my skin, and hasn't got enough moisturising properties to be using it as my only face moisturiser, so i've started using L'Oreal Happy Derm and just using this in the morning on my T-Zone to mattify it, and it works perfectly! but idoubt i'll repurchase this once it's finished
Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:03:00 AM
this is a staple in my make-up bag because it really is a lovely product. while it is quite expensive (i recommend picking one up cheap on ebay) it's definitely worth the money. i only use it to cover up blemishes, i don't need it under my eyes, and it stays put for most of the day and the range of shades are really good
Lip Treatments -Avon - Winter Parade Lip Balm - Sugar Cookie
becky5300 12/13/2004 4:00:00 AM
the flavour is lovely, it's subtle yet really sweet and nice. the consistency is great, and it's really mositurising, but it tends to look white when you apply it liberally, so i usually only use this at night before i go to bed
I love the matte-look and i am forever trying to find a foundation that provides great coverage that looks naturally flawless and keeps my skin shine-free. this is as close as i've gotten to that aim, so it's been a staple of mine for about a year now, for want of something better. it is rediculously expensive and the shape of the packaging is pretty irritating as the product gets stuck in the corners and i have to cut the tube in half when it's almost empty to get at it. the coverage is pretty good and makes my complexion look nice and even and while it does mattify a little bit, i'd recommend using MAC Sheer Select Pressed Powder over it to get that totally mattified look. Update: I've started using Revlon's Skin Perfecting Makeup instead of this and it puts this to shame! it's half as expensive and actually makes my skin look better and it doesn't rub off on absolutely EVERYTHING like this one does! i'm so glad i'm free from having to spend almost $70 on foundation!
Pressed Powders -MAC - Select Sheer Pressed Powder
becky5300 12/13/2004 3:51:00 AM
i love this product, it's one of my few staples. i have really oily, shine-prone skin but i don't like the idea of wearing heavy powder foundation, so this is an excellent alternative. i can still get that beatiful sheer matte look that keeps the shine at bay, but it never looks cakey or overdone. and the price is surprisingly reasonable, which is great. i will definitely never look for another pressed powder while i can get this one! Edit - i don't know what happened, whether it was the particular one i got recently or if they've changed it, but the last one i bought was awful - i had to wipe the applicator on the side of the compact every time i used the powder because it was so heavily covered with product and this was such a hassle i ended up throwing it out. i definitely won't be repurchasing, instead i now use Clinique's Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder, which is perfect, and what this product used to be like.
I really am at a loss trying to find a mattifying product that actually works! i wasn't entirely impressed with this one because it doesn't really do much - i still have to use a mattifying moisturiser, foundation, pressed powder and blotting tissues to keep my shine at bay - so i bought the Chanel T-Mat, but it is even worse than this one and i think it's more expensive. i do like the soft feel of this product though, but i certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone
Primer/ Corrector -Chanel - Precision Purite Ideale T-Mat Shine Control
becky5300 12/13/2004 3:43:00 AM
So disappointed! I bought this after seeing it recommended in a magazine and i really thought that after spending a lot of money on such a superior brand, my shiny t-zone problem would be solved. not so. i'm not convinced it makes any difference to my shiny t-zone, i still have to use a mattifying moisturiser, foundation, pressed powder and blotting tissues to keep shine at bay! it also has an annoying tendency to get really cakey and you have to be really careful when using it to make sure that all the cakiness is rubbed away before applying foundation on the top
