I'm not sure how I feel about toners in general. This one is nice but I'm not sure I would repurchase. I like that it doesn't make my skin feel dry or tight in the least, but my skin seems to look better when I don't use the toner in between the Ultra Mild Cleansing Milk and the Creme Fraiche de Beaute moisturizer. I'm not sure why this is. I don't use it very often.
I was a little nervous that this would break my combo/acne-prone skin out since it is a creamy cleanser that doesn't lather. I was pleasantly surprised that it left my skin feeling very soft and looking beautiful. My t-zone doesn't seem to get as oily as it used to either. I think it's really regulated my skin. Actually, since I started using Nuxe products, my skin looks more radiant than ever! I'm almost finished with my first bottle and will definitely repurchase.
Misc Beauty Tools -Sonia Kashuk - Metal Eyelash Comb

I use this every day to de-clump my lashes. It works like a charm and was very inexpensive. I used to use the metal Tweezerman LashComb, but this one has proved to be more durable.
Eyeliner -Laura Mercier - Kohl Pencil in Brown Copper

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. It was a last minute buy at the LM counter. I swear I've used it almost daily since I bought it. I was a strict shadow-as-liner girl until this pencil came along. It's a subtle deep brown with slight gold shimmer. It glides on very smoothly and lasts a long time. I like to smudge it out with a brush for a more smokey, less "lined" look. It looks every bit as good as any shadow I've ever used...and it lasts and lasts! I will definitely repurchase this item!
This is THE perfect YLBB liner. I never realized how orangey some of the other "nude" liners were until I tried this one. You can apply it heavy for a deeper lips look or with a very light hand to get a natural lips look. I think I've gone through about 10 of these now. This is my holy grail, staple neutral lip pencil.
Lip Gloss -Clinique - Glosswear for Lips- Sunshine

I was looking for a nice soft, shimmery peach gloss. I found it! I love the texture and will definitely buy more of these Clinique glosses. They're not too sticky and leave my lips nice and moist. This shade has just enough color and shine in it to be softly pretty...not overly shiney or heavy. Great gloss!
Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof

I don't like it. Bottom Line. I find that it did nothing to add volume to my lashes. Now, it did leave them fairly soft but that was it. I much prefer my Loreal Voluminous for thick looking, lush lashes.
I prefer my Shiseido curler to the Shu. With the Shu, I had to put a lot more effort into getting the perfect curl. It was almost too curved for my eye. I'd have to really shove the outer edges into my eye area in order for the middle part to reach my eyelashes enough to get a nice curl. I thought the two would be pretty similar. I ended up swapping the Shu away. I'm sticking with my Shiseido!!!
I find that although the Shiseido and Shu curlers look similar, that their performances are different. I much prefer Shiseido for my eye shape. It contours to my eye perfectly and gives me the perfect curl every time. This one is truly effortless for me. Plus, you can buy the pads seperately which is a huge plus!!
This scrub was a pleasant surprise. My LM counter manager gave me a nice sized sample when I made a purchase. I didn't even want it, but she insisted I try it. I tried it and went back for the full sized product after my sample ran out. It smells nice and does the job effectively. I use this once or twice a week at night. If find it gentle to use and my skin always glows afterwards. The next morning, my skin feels smoother and looks better. I'm not sure what's in it that works so well for me. But this is by far my favorite scrub out there.
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Foaming Facial Cleanser - Sensitive Skin
StephB 8/10/2003 6:32:00 PM
I have somewhat sensitive skin that's prone to break outs. This is my default cleanser - I always try other brands and always come back to my good ol' Clean & Clear Oil Free Sensitive Skin Facial Cleanser. It has the same ingredients as J&J Head to Toe Baby Wash and Purpose. I use this b/c it's cheaper than Purpose and the pump bottle is more convenient than the J&J H2T. It removes all my makeup and leaves my skin clean and not stripped. I do usually go to a more gentle cleanser in the winter when my skin gets on the dry side though.
Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Softlotion - Bedtime Lotion
StephB 8/9/2003 11:25:00 PM
I originally bought this to use on my two year old. One morning I ran out of my regular body lotion so I used his. I'm so glad I tried this on myself! It smells lovely and moisturizes nicely. I've actually gotten complements on the scent. Best of all, it's dirt cheap! So now we share lotion because I can't see switching to anything else.
This shampoo cleaned well but my hair never styled right with it. I thought itgave my fine, highlighted hair a dry crunchy feel. My thoughts were confirmed when I put my hair in a pony tail for a minute or so and the crease stuck when I took out the rubber band! I had to blowdry it straight to get the crease out! I've never had that happen with another shampoo. It also didn't make my hair feel shiny or bouncy. It may have cleaned well but I didn't like the way it made my hair look and feel.
Pressed Powders -Almay - Clear Complexion Light & Perfect Pressed Powder
StephB 8/8/2003 3:14:00 PM
I agree with the other review. This is a great product for the price. I also wear translucent and this is a runner up to my Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Powder. It doesn't prevent shine quite as long as the LM but it looks natural (not pasty like some translucent powders) and never cakes and never breaks me out. For the price, this is a very good powder.
I was surprised at how much I liked this product. I was used to using pencil liners (namely Laura Mercier and MAC). This glides on so smoothly that it amazed me! It doesn't wear quite as long as my other liners, but it wears fine. I have it in HoneyStick and prefer this shade to MAC Spice...less orange.
