Wow! I usually just clean my brushes with some old face wash but I finally decided to go out and buy a nice brush cleanser to go with my high end (and some low end) brushes. This stuff works SOOOOO much better than anything else I've ever tried and I am now hooked for lifey. I bought a little spray bottle so as not to waste product and it seems it will last a long time. The bottle was huge - much much larger than I expected for only 9 bucks!
Styling Products -Rusk - Mousse - Maximum Volume and Control
SsjAnimeGW 6/9/2007 12:20:00 PM
Best mousse ever! For reference, I have slightly wavy, blonde hair. I always have to be careful of products that either frizz, darken, or flatten my fine tresses but this product is perfect. It doesn't dry out or darken my hair and if I want my natural wave to show, I let it air dry and it will hold. If I want straight hair, I will blow dry and it will hold. Perfect for all occasions and styles!
Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
SsjAnimeGW 5/12/2007 9:58:00 PM
Very nice. Moisturized very slightly and doesn't make my face greasy which I think is the first sunscreen that I've used that hasn't. I tried the spf 70 in this line and it gave me chemical burns but this stuff is awesome and I will buy it again! :::Update::: Nope, nope, nope. Broke me out like crazy. I went on a camping trip and didn't wear anything but this for a couple of days and I looked sickly with tons of bumps on my face. I decided to go sans-this sunscreen for a while and within 2 days the bumps went away. Allergic reaction maybe? Be careful if you have sensitivities to sunscreens like I do. Also, I didn't realize it at first but after not using it for a few days, i realize it felt like a mask...
This is not just olive oil - trust me, I've tried. If I had to use only one beauty product for the rest of my life, I would choose this.
Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
SsjAnimeGW 4/30/2007 10:16:00 AM
I thought I loved this foundation but it ended up turning my skin into the Sahara and made me look like a powdery old lady...
Beautiful and well pigmented goldish greeny color which goes with everything and really brings out the colors in eyes. Very nice!
I don't want to jinx it but... complete HG!!! Awesome, sexy, and sultry for everyday! :D ::Update:: Meh, this is nice for a more natural look but recently I've been into the *pow!* *in your face!* kind of look with lashes. This does NOT do that one bit.
I can't decide on this. It offers very sheer cover not the full cover it likes to claim. It also dries out my combo skin (I have to constantly apply lipgloss because I feel like this is giving me mummy lips). I also get bumps after a couple of days but I'm not 100% sure this is what's causing it. I'm not a big fan but I don't hate it either.
Makeup Brushes -Smashbox - Face and Body Brush #19
SsjAnimeGW 4/14/2007 4:11:00 PM
Heck no! This seemed like a really nice brush at first - then I washed it. The dye was running BLACK out of this brush and what was once a nice, stylish, soft black brush has turned into a brown, unusable mess that my face screams at whenever I put this brush near it. Seemed nice in the store and was nice when I first used it. Then after washing, the dye washed out and it was scratchy scratchy scratchy! I'm putting this up for swap - if you think you'll have better luck with it, send me a message.
Yowza! Dried out my skin like no other. O_O
Highlighters -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips in Vegas Strip
SsjAnimeGW 4/5/2007 2:39:00 PM
Bah. I guess this gave me a nice shimmery highlight to my cheekbones but the only thing I really noticed about this product was how much it made my pores stand out- and I never have a problem with that usually. I am looking for a highlighter/bronzer that gives a nice shimmer but all this did was make it glittery and settled in my pores. The second ingredient in it also is talc which I've heard can cause breakouts to those who are prone to blemishes. Definitely NOT worth the 12 buck I had to pay for this.
Cleansers -Eucerin - Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser
SsjAnimeGW 4/5/2007 2:34:00 PM
OW! This burned the crap out of my face! I am an O/DSNW and I tried it because it was recommended for both OSNW and DSNW. I had a bunch of redness and this made it one million times worse. "But SsjAnimeGW, how do you know this was what was making your face red?" Because I switched to a *very* old favorite- Cetaphil- and the redness went completely away in like 2 days. The Eucerin cleanser for redness is not a good product for redness- it makes it worse. I have also been researching around online and apparently, there are a lot of other people who have has similar adverse reactions.
Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Visibly Firm Night Cream with Copper

This burned the crap out of my face! I had to wash it off immediately the second day of using it.
Cleansers -La Roche Posay - Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser
SsjAnimeGW 3/22/2007 11:55:00 AM
HHMMMM..... This didn't take my makeup off at all. Not even after wiping and wiping and wiping. Wait a minute, isn't this product meant for sensitive skin? Then why should you have to irritate your skin with all the wiping you need to do with this product?! I also put some on the inner part of my forearm (very sensitive place for skin) and within one minute it had started burning. Be careful about this if you have sensitive skin- it just might make it worse.
Yuck yuck yuck. This only made my skin look dry and flaky. When I looked in the mirror to check the application, I thougt my skin looked like that of a crazy old cat lady!! This stuff is crap. It caked, sat in creases/lines, and was horribly shiney. It made my pores look huge and as my bf says, my blemishes looked "purple". Don't waste spendoolix on this!! Anyone who'se tried ANY other mineral foundation knows this one can't hold a candle to the other options out there. Yuck.
