Concealers -Bare Escentuals - Bisque
Merrydothe 9/1/2005 12:19:00 PM
This concealer is probably one of the best I've used coveage wise. The color totally matches my skin to a T and covers any blemishes I may have almost completely. This is making its way to HG status. My only gripe is that I wish It would last a little longer-I find myself re-appling about once a day or twice a day. Great stuff though. UPDATE: I think this started breaking me out rather badly. I've decided to stop using it! The coverage is still great, but not the right product for me!

Crème -MAC - Chroma Cake-Landscape Green
Merrydothe 7/25/2005 5:08:00 PM
This is the product used in the broadway musical Wicked to make Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West green. I used it for a Halloween costume, and although it does take some practice to get it to work really well-the results turned out to be amazing. The trick is to apply it with tons of water using a mix of foundation brushes and sponges. Then while its still wet, dry brushing it to get all of the color evened out. Without this dry brush step, the color comes out way too green and very opaque. The great thing about this technique is the sheer look acheieved, so that the skin underneath almost shows through, without letting the makeup rub off very much at all--it almost acts like a stain. Like is said it does take some practice, but after doing it about 4 times I got the hang of it! A really fun product!

Masks -Freeman - Totally Juicy Grapefruit Peel-Off Mask
Merrydothe 7/20/2005 2:46:00 AM
I'm not sure if this product actually does anything, but its definitely fun to use. Its for the people who used to put elmers glue on their hands back in elementary school--the peeling was so much fun! Like I said all it did really was pull some tiny hairs out of my face, and yeah it did hurt a little, but not as bad as you all made it out to be. I'll keep using it and see if actually helps my face.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
Merrydothe 5/19/2005 5:02:00 PM
It could be just me or some hormonal thing, but since I've started using this scrub my skin is the clearest it has been like-ever. Plus, my skin never gets flakey anymore. This product is truly amazing. I have spent literally hundreds of dollars on products by DDF with no result. Little did I know that a 3 dollar scrub could make more of a difference than any of the expensive stuff did. I will definitely repurchase if this continues to hold up its HG status. Edit: This stopped doing amazing things for my skin, but I still continue to use it once in a while. Great product!

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
Merrydothe 3/13/2005 2:11:00 AM
Well I've been using this for about a week. I actually like this, well I did like this until it started to break me out. It moisturized well and left my face looking dewy. Now I'm debating whether to take it back or save it for summer when I'll need the SPF more.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
Merrydothe 3/13/2005 1:58:00 AM
I am really surprised by all of the negative reviews for this product! While I will say this isn't the worlds perfect moisturizer , but in my book this is probably one of three that are the best and simplest I've found. I've gone through a few bottles of this, as well as the Oil Free Combination Skin Moisturizer in this same line. I usually use this Sensitive Skin formular for Winter and the Combo Skin for Summer. I always try to stray and find something better, but whatever I buy always ends up breaking me out, so I come back to these and my skin returns to normal. Its perpexing to me because my skin breaks out from anything--even products that say nocomedogenic or nonacnegenic! Yet somehow this doesn't! I've bought this before, and I'm positive I'll buy it again in the future-since I have yet to find anything better. Now I'm stuck with a box full of yucky moisturizers that will never get used up!

Eye Shadow -Almay - Intense i-color powder shadow-Trio for Greens
Merrydothe 3/9/2005 8:22:00 AM
All around bad. I wish I had waited and bought this at CVS, because now I am totally stuck with this useless trio since I bought it from Walmart. Anyway, these three colors, the green, violet and the light lime green, look very enticing in the compact. Then when you're trying to open it, it proves to be difficult---first sign. Then once you put the shades on, they all blend together to make this maroon muddy punched in the eye shade that is anything but flattering. I even tried this 3 different times, with different brushes and application techqniques with no change in the ugly punched look at all. Bummer, and I really thought this would be fun for some reason.

Palettes -Stila - Wicked Defy Gravity (Green/Peach) Set
Merrydothe 3/8/2005 10:22:00 PM
Being a huge fan of Wicked The Musical (I've seen it 8 times) I had to get this set. The crystals are useless but the lipstick is divine! So moisturizing and shiny, almost acts as a tinted balm! I got this mostly for the collector factor. I have the Glinda set coming from Ebay soon! Eee!

Skincare - Body -Pure and Basic - Wild Banana & Vanilla Hand & Body Lotion
Merrydothe 3/8/2005 5:06:00 PM
This is truly amazing stuff. Its natural, not greasy yet very moisturizing (my legs feel moist for the whole day! So smooth!), and above all it smells heavenly. At first its a true banana and vanilla scent-then at dry down, the banana fades away to a foody vanilla creme scent. Run don't walk and get this lotion! Now only if I could find the body wash to match!

Lips -Neutrogena - MoistureShine tinted lip balm in Clean #20
Merrydothe 2/22/2005 6:40:00 PM
Clean is actually #20 in the lineup of these balms. Lovely product! The application is so smooth, which I was so pleasantly surprised at since a lot of tinted balms I've tried have been gritty or dry. This is an amazing lip balm, and I have the urge to buy all of the colors! Someone stop me! Clean is a medium berry color with some shimmer. Very YLBB, neutral color and I'm sure it would work on many skin tones!

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Sensitive Skin Deep Action Cream Cleanser
Merrydothe 2/5/2005 2:11:00 PM
Awesome awesome cleanser. The regular version is way too drying, this is perfect! Cleans, yet moisturizes and still leaves the tingly feeling (menthol). Only 11 ingredients, which is good too! Be warned though, this doesn't lather at all, just a creamy moisturizing feeling! Love it!

Fragrance -Chanel - Allure Homme Sport

My boyfriend just bought this over much deliberation over which scent to buy at Sephora. This was the overall winner, and boy is this scent awesome! Love it so much, and it goes great with his body chemistry! Yum!

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Mentha Lip Shine
Merrydothe 1/30/2005 12:48:00 AM
Love this! Very moisturizing, shiny, and cooling. My only gripe is I wish it only smelled like Mint, and didn't taste it too. I like my lip products without a taste. Otherwise this is amazing, and I can see it becoming a HG!

Eyes -Cover Girl - Eyeslicks Gel Eye Colour "Moondust"
Merrydothe 1/26/2005 7:56:00 PM
I bought this after hating Benefit's Mr Frosty. This costs one third of what Mr Frosty costs and is a million times better. This has that excellent cooling effect, and goes on so smooth and evenly yet blends so well for a smudged effect. I use it in the inside and outside corners of my eyes everyday--really makes them pop!
