Lipstick -Cover Girl - Continuous Color Lipstick in Honeyplum Glow
Kately 2/12/2006 12:20:00 AM
This color is like a frosty medium pink with a orangy/golden shine. CG rec'd this color as an everyday/daytime color for me. I am a MMM (NC30/dark brown hair & eyes/Winter). This is a workable color if you play with the application. To me, this is more of a evening/weekend color though.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - continuous color in vintage wine
Kately 2/12/2006 12:11:00 AM
This is a medium brownish red. It looks almost like a burgundy except it's less brown and only medium. I am a MMM (NC30), Winter and this looks pretty good on me. This looks a bit warm but it actually works on my skin! I don't think I would repurchase this because I like trying different colors but if I needed something quick that worked with my skin, I would get this. The CG website actually rec'd this color for me for an evening look.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - CG Continuous Color in Really Red
Kately 2/12/2006 12:02:00 AM
I can't believe no one has reviewed this yet. I am a MMM (NC30) and this color just did not look good on me. It is not really red, it's more like a fuschia red. It has this sort of toxic neon gleam to it, like think of a neon red sign. It's not very flattering on me at all. When I bought this I was hoping it would be like a nice 1940's red. Instead I got this cheap hooker red. This tends to get trapped in the creases on my lips, but it turns like a neon pink in the creases. When you wipe this off, it leaves this ugly fuschia stain. Definitely would not repurchase. I cannot see this working on anyone.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - CG Continuous Color Lipstick in Smokey Rose
Kately 2/11/2006 11:56:00 PM
This color is a medium pink with a blue undertone so it looks a little bit purplish when you put it on. It looks almost like my lip color except it's purply pink. I am a MMM (NC30) and it looks okay with my skintone. It doesn't completely clash but I think this would look better on someone lighter than I. I bought this because I really wanted Stila's rose lipstick (don't remember its name but this didn't turn out to be a drugstore lookalike). Although this wasn't bad, I don't think I will repurchase this because it feels kind of cheap meaning it bleeds a bit.

Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20
Kately 2/9/2006 7:43:00 PM
I've had this for a while. Although this can feel a bit masklike, it does have great coverage. I just tried it with a damp wedge sponge and it applied more lighter. I had to put on two layers to cover everything up but it covered nicely and it's still pretty natural-looking. The problem I had with Neutrogena is that the color selection isn't that great. I first bought this in Golden Bisque but it was way too yellow! So since it was too yellow, I went up two shades to Copper Sand. The colors selection runs way too light.I think Copper Sand is 90 and there are two colors that are above it so this isn't friendly if you are darker. This is an okay match for me except that it's a tad darker than my skin and it's kind of orangy. I think I should probably get this in True Beige. I am a MMM (about NC30). The thing I don't like about this foundation is that it is very thin. Also when it separates, it looks really gross. You definitely need to shake it up though. The good thing is that it's oil-free and has SPF 20 in it. The price is okay, but it's a bit pricey for a drugstore. I bought this on sale though.

Lip Gloss -Almay - Whipped Gloss - Nude Reflection
Kately 2/5/2006 8:16:00 PM
Of all the Whippedgloss I've tried, so far this is my favorite color. It is such a pretty MLBB shade. It is a really pretty pink brown. It really flatters my skintone. I am a MMM. I would definitely repurchase this color when I run out. I like the lip applicator on this too since I don't really like sponge applicator. This brush applicator applies the color really smoothly.

Lipstick -Max Factor - LipFinity Everlites - Peaceful 140
Kately 2/5/2006 8:09:00 PM
This color was a muted dusty pink or a sandstone pink. The color didn't really look all that great on me. I am a MMM. This is a labeled as a semipermanent color but it wore off really quickly after eating. I like the packaging but I don't think they give you that much of the lip color. There are two products involved, first the color base coat (gloss) and then the moisturizing top coat (clear lipstick). I kind of got confused because I took out the two lip products thinking they would be labeled identifying which was the base coat and which was the top coat, but they were not. The box is labeled but the lip products can easily be rotated in the store. At first when I applied this, it didn't look good at all, it was a bit streaky when it dried. I reapplied it just now and it looks fine. The top coat is interesting. It is moisturizing but it kind of reminds me of Crisco. Luckily this has no taste but it makes my lips feel greasy. I liked how after applying the lip color, the color didn't come off on the clear topcoat. With other long-lasting lipsticks I've tried, it usually is sticky, but this one isn't but it is greasy as I said. I might repurchase this product again, but not in this color. Edit: Took off a lippie. The longer I wore this the grossier it felt. It felt like I ate greasy fried chicken and didn't wipe my mouth. I just felt like grabbing a napkin to wipe my mouth because it felt like I had something on my face.

Lip Gloss -Almay - Whipped Gloss - See Through
Kately 2/1/2006 10:37:00 PM
This is just a clear gloss with microsparkles in it. I think a better choice if you are looking for a clear gloss is to get this in Shining Bare. I really like applicator for this lipgloss because it is not a sponge but a brush that helps to smooth on the gloss evenly. I like it but probably would not purchase this since a cheaper clear gloss can be bought. The texture is more sticky than regular glosses so this wears longer.

Mascara -Revlon - Lash Fantasy Mascara
Kately 2/1/2006 5:56:00 PM
This is an okay mascara. I think it's a lot better than many mascaras but it is not great in any means. I have never used a mascara with primer before but my friend has one of those mascaras with microfibers so I thought the white primer would be the same. When I applied the primer, I was thinking it would be like white but instead it went on clear but it dried white. But I did not know it would dry white so I applied several coats of the primer thinking I had to apply more. Anyway, I let it dry for a few seconds and then applied the colored end of the mascara, it did make my eyelashes thicker. The only problem was that it also weighed down my curls so curling my eyelashes beforehand was pretty much a waste. However, this mascara did not clump at all on me so that is definitely a plus. Overall, this mascara wasn't bad, but I can get the same look with a regular mascara without primer and one that won't weigh down my lashes by removing the curl. I got this in Blackest Black and the color is very nice and perfectly black.
Update: I've been using this again and I think it is a really great mascara that I overlooked. It gives me the appearance of false eyelashes but still looks pretty natural. The only complaint I have is that it makes my lashes poker straight. I usually curl my eyelashes before and it just weighs my lashes down. I tried curling after and the curl would not hold.

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach
Kately 2/1/2006 5:50:00 PM
The color is a peachy pink with a hint of shimmer. I've never tried Nars Orgasm but from pictures, this is a great drugstore look-a-like. I am a MMM. The only thing I didn't like was the packaging. I wish that the pan was wider as I use my own brush and my brush was too fat so I had to keep applying this to get a good amount/coverage. This color gives me a nice natural flush without screaming HELLO, I'm wearing blush! It just gives my cheekbones that extra oomph that I'm missing.

Lip Gloss -Almay - Whipped Gloss - Shining Bare
Kately 2/1/2006 5:40:00 PM
This is a pretty pink with a hint of peach and tiny little microsparkles. It applies as a very sheer pink with a pretty shine. It is almost like a clear gloss except it gives my lips a bit of a pinker look. I would repurchase this! The applicator is very nice, I was expecting a sponge applicator but this was a cute little brush-like applicator which really helped smooth on the color evenly. It is like if you want the look of a clear gloss but with a little something that is better than a clear gloss. This is very pretty and I could see using this as a regular daytime look or at night paired with a smoky eye.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Frosted Lily eyeshadow duo
Kately 2/1/2006 5:22:00 PM
This is a very shimmery greenish white. At first glance, I thought it was just a white e/s, I thought it would be like B&BW discounted e/s in Lily. On the brush, it was a very pale green. It does show up as a very light green. It had kind of a frosted, iridescent white with a tinge of green. I got this for free from an iCompactor so I can't comment on the price. I used this as a brow highlighter and it was very pigmented. Next time I will apply it with a lighter hand. I don't know if I would repurchase this on my own but I think it is a very nice e/s to pair with other green shadows.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Eyeshadow in Sparkling Sage
Kately 2/1/2006 5:16:00 PM
I love this e/s! It is such a beautiful color. It is like a shimmery medium silvery green. It is so beautiful and pigmented! I didn't think it was going to be pigmented so I put kind of a lot on, but to my surprise I didn't need to use that much. I got this for free from a iCompact member so I can't comment on the price but I would actually buy this on my own. I have brown eyes and it looks great with them.

Mascara -Almay - One Coat Mascara (Thickening)
Kately 1/31/2006 9:22:00 PM
This is my HG mascara. I use the waterproof version in black. I have to use more than one coat but I have really fine eyelashes so I always have to. I love this mascara because it applies so smoothly and it does its job at making my lashes more thick. It gives you that pretty everyday look without being over the top. I'm interested in trying the One Coat Triple Effect mascara.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Smoothers Eye Liner
Kately 1/31/2006 7:41:00 PM
I got this for free. The color I got was Indigo Blue. It is such a nice dark denim blue. It applied very smoothly with no drag on the eyelid. The only bad thing was the staying power. It completely smeared/drifted to make this huge ring under my eye. I didn't even touch my eyes so I think it might have been oil from my skin but this has never happened with any of my other e/ls. So I wiped off the smeared part with a tissue and then like an hour or two later when I looked in the mirror, some more had smeared down. I would not purchase this.
