This is my current drugstore fave (my favorite liquid foundation is currently Clinique's Superfit). I'm about an NC40 and am using 009 Rich Ginger. It's a great match, neutral to golden in tone. Anyhow, this is what I love about it 1) The packaging, awesome pump, very high end looking. 2) I love the micro shimmers in this, but I happen to love shimmer in my makeup, I think it makes skin look healthy and young. 3) The blendability, very easy to blend and I have weird combo skin (dry and flakey, super oily tzone, large pores), and this goes on like a dream. 4) The fact that it is both matte and glowy, weird sounding I know, but true! and 5) the price! It looks great when paired with the translucent finishing powder! Would repurchase!
Highlighters -Clinique - Fresh Bloom AllOver Colour - Peony

I got this as a GWP and was SO happy, cuz I had wanted to try this for a long time now, but didn't want to pay full price for it. This is a gorgeous blush, that has this angelic glow to it! It's almost too pale for my very tanned skin, but just looks so pretty on, I don't care! I use the lighter part as a highlighter on my cheekbones and forehead. Soooo pretty as a highlighter without being over the top. Would probably buy the full size when this runs out, although I do think they are a bit overpriced.
Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
HotCurry 12/20/2009 12:15:00 AM
I am using this in "Golden Beige", and it's a perfect match for my tanned NC40ish skintone! Clinique has the BEST shades I have found for my super golden tanned skin! Anyhow, this foundation goes on really silky, it's easy to blend, and dries down to a nice, polished, natural matte finish. UPDATE: I actually returned this for the Perfectly Real makeup and like that MUCH better than the Superfit. If you want natural, sheer coverage without the greasiness of a TM than I highly recommend the Perfectly Real makeup!
This is the best tinted self tanning face formula I have found! Most self-tanners that include a bronzer usually go on streaky and runny, and leave skin blotchy (i'm referring to the bronzer portion of the formulas). But this one goes on so smooth, and leaves such a beautiful golden glow, I only add a little blush and powder and my face looks very polished! I go to the tanning bed, but for some reason my face never gets as dark as the rest of me so I have to rely on cosmetics or self tanners to match my face to the rest of me. I am about an NC37, and am using this in "medium". This formula does tan well, but is more along the lines of a gradual self tanner rather than an instant one. I'm just hoping this doesn't break me out like all self tanners eventually do. I will update if it does. For now, I'm loving this!
Powder -Cover Girl - Fresh complexion oil control makeup (powder foundation)
HotCurry 12/15/2009 5:20:00 PM
This is probably the best powder foundation I've tried at the drugstore! The only other powder foundation I love is Bare Escentuals, but I reach for this little blue baby when I want a matte finish rather than the glowy one that my beloved BE gives me. This provides a light to medium coverage, and I apply using a good quality kabuki brush, and it's never cakey...it's matte, yet natural looking. Covers my large pores nicely and controls oil better than most. I am about a NC37 and use either Soft Honey or Classic Tan depending on how tan I am. Great for touchups throughout the day as well, it's nice to have an all in one product like this!
This is the BEST pink blush for tanned skintones. It does look VERY bright in the container, but it goes on the perfect barbie pink flush, that's SO flattering to golden skintones, and I would think this would work for neutral or cool skintones as well! SO glad I got this one, it's the perfect pink!
LOVE this shimmer dust on my tanned NC37 skin! I love shimmer anyway, but this stuff is a steal! It's so cheap, and works so well, I apply over my blush, and on my forehead nose and chest to give me a gorgeous all over glow! Favorite shimmer powder ever!!!
Blush -Cover Girl - Trublend Microminerals Blush in Natural Rose
HotCurry 12/13/2009 5:41:00 PM
This is the darker of the two microminerals blushes that CG offers. I bought this because I liked their microminerals foundation so well. I wanted a soft luminous pink shade, and this was just that! Shows up nicely on my tanned NC37ish skintone, a nice soft true pink with the same luminous quality its foundation counterpart has. I don't care for the entire lines packaging, as I think a regular srewtop jar with a sifter is much more convenient for mineral makeup. Otherwise, I love it and have been using it almost daily!
I orginally gave this product a really bad review. However, now that my skin is in better condition, and I have become more skilled at applying mineral powders, I like it! I use Buff Beige, and it's an absolute perfect color match for my NC37 tanned skin...not even my beloved Bare Escentuals is an exact color match (although still my HG). I use my own full coverage kabuki brush, and acheive light to medium coverage, which is all I need. This goes on smoothly, and just makes skin look fantastic and glowing. Yes, there is a def. sparkle to this product, but I happen to like that fact. This does not magnify pores, but actually helps hide them. I apply BE's mineral veil over top, and it looks natural and radiant, and keeps my oily skin in check. Lasts all day! This is a nice option when I don't feel like wearing my BE. Hate the packaging though, for god sakes makeup companies...just put ur mineral foundations in a regular sifter jar and let us worry about finding a decent brush, geeessshh! Also, took one lippie off, because the coverage is VERY sheer.
So I was cruisin the drugstore isles, looking for a frosty pink gloss that was flavored (I like my glosses to taste good, lol!) when I stumbled upon this Bonne Bell gloss in "Cream Pop". Well, I am IN LOVE! It was the exact shade of frosty pink I wanted, and it tastes like an orange creamsicle! I don't really see the diff. when I have bought high end glosses so I'd rather just save my money. This gloss is fantastic! The packaging is pretty, and the gloss lasts a long time. Plus it's cheap! I can't wait to try more flavors!!! UPDATE: So I ended up getting like 4 more shades, all taste great, but Cream Pop is still my fave! These are my new fave glosses of all time!
So I used Bare Minerals waaayyy back in the day before mineral makeup was even popular. I used it for about 2-3 years, which is the longest I've ever been loyal to a makeup, and I got all the gals at work using it after they asked me what foundation I was using. So why did I ever leave it? Really, I'm not sure, I was an Everyday Minerals fan for awhile, but honestly even their original glo formula didn't give me the glowing look I love from my BE. After being disappointed with drugstore versions of MM (maybellines mineral power being my favorite of the ds versions), I went to Ulta and bought myself some BE in Medium Tan...perfect color match and I'm about and NC37 at the moment. What I love about BE is a little goes a long way, in fact, you can't use too much or u will look like the tin man from the wizard of oz. However when applied lightly I really love the glowing, yet flawless look only this product can give me. This is the only mineral mu that actually minimizes my large pores. Setting it with Mineral Veil will minimize pores even more, and add to the flawlessness so I highly recommend it. This lasts all day on my oily skin, and also I get WAY less oily than I did with liquid foundations. Ever since I switched back my boyfriend keeps telling me that I have been looking extra pretty lately, and what have I been doing different...BE that's what! I have tried the new BE Matte version, and was VERY disspointed. It has no coverage and is easily duped by cheaper drugstore brands. The original is the best IMO! UPDATE: wanted to add that I'm very breakout prone and after using this daily for 2 weeks, my skin is completely clear (which it hasn't been for MONTHS now). AND I sleep in it most nights, I know, I know, that's bad, but I'm usually too lazy to wash my face at night. I will never stray from BE again!
Mineral Veil is a def. staple in my makeup routine. I use it over my BE in Medium Tan, and it does not lighten or change the color of my foundation. This sets my makeup perfectly, and minimizes my pores and helps blur flaws. It also offers excellent oil control, with other powders I was re-powdering every hour or 2, and with this I can go more like 4 or 5 hours, which is no small feat. I was using Everyday Minerals finishing dust, which is also corn starch based, but that one has the tendency to stick to facial hairs and LOOK powdery which I hated. BE's is smoother, and does not cause that problem. LOVE BE and LOVE MV!
This is a totally nude/clear shimmer powder on my tanned NC37 skin. No color shows up. There is no pink tones to this, and works great to just add subtle fine shimmer all over my face, or over blushes to make them more shimmery! This is my favorite of the radiances, simply because it works with any and all of my makeup shades. Love it!
I was at Ulta looking for a BE shimmery pink blush, that would show up on my tanned NC37ish skintone. This was it! It's a true deep pink with shimmer (but the shimmer is subtle on). I could see this easily being too bright/deep for fair skin, I apply very lightly and achieve bright rosy cheeks, that I just love. I usually go for corals, but have recently ventured back to pinks. I'm sure I will try other shades, but then I'm a BE addict! This will last me forever, but it's exactly the shade I was looking for! Highly recommend for medium to tanned skintones!
Really excellent concealer, especially considering it's a powder! It really does adhere well to the skin, and has excellent opacity. I just apply it to any blemishes/red areas with a small concealer brush and it's a breeze and blends better than any cream or liquid concealers with my Bare Escentuals foundation (I use Medium Tan). I have tanned NC37-40 skin, and this color works well, although I wish they had a shade between the summer bisque and deep bisque. This shade would also work well with light skinned ladies that have yellow undertones rather than pink. What I love about this the most, is that it absolutely does not prolong the life of a blemish whereas other concealers can actually cause more breakouts. Staple product, and one jar last FOREVER so it's well worth the price.
