Lip Treatments -MAC - Tendertone Lip Balm SPF 12 in Tender Baby
Hannahbby2 11/20/2009 11:24:00 AM
Yesterday, I visited my CCO for the first time. (I had no idea my outlets had one!) I stocked up on some MAJOR goodies, including these babies. I ended up buying four, one in tender baby, tread gently, hush hush, and warm smile. I'm in love already. The texture is wonderful, the smell is heavenly, and it adds conditioning and sun protection to your lips. I also love the packaging. It's in a cute little glass jar, like the paint pots and concealers. I don't have a problem with applying with my finger, if i'm on the go, I always sanitize my hands and have a tissue nearby. I would imagine these would be great to have in the summer months, to have in your beach bag or purse. Melting would be a problem where I live though. Overall, this product is amazing, if you happen to find some, GET THEM! You won't be disappointed.
I recently got a sample of this, and I have to say, it smells SO strong. It's an overwhelmingly sweet berry/floral scent. Not sure if it's my body chemistry reacting to it, but I just don't like this scent.
Mascara -L'Oreal - Waterproof Voluminous Carbon Black
Hannahbby2 11/14/2009 11:25:00 AM
Ew. This mascara is so smudgy! When you take the brush out, you get globs of mascara sticking to it. It's really hard to get off, you have to go over it a few times with an oil based remover for it all to come off. Doesn't hold a curl at all. Don't buy this.
Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
Hannahbby2 11/12/2009 5:37:00 PM
I have this in light 3. I love the coverage of this stuff! It's not cakey at all, and light 3 matches my skintone really well. I tried Bare Minerals, and quite frankly, that stuff is way overrated. It was cakey and made my face really itchy. This stuff works so much better, and gives better coverage too. The mineral blushes are good too! :)
Love this lipgloss. It's the perfect everyday lip color for me, it warms up my light complexion and makes my daytime makeup look "finished" and natural. It's a gorgeous peachy color with gold shimmer that compliments virtually every skin tone. I've never heard someone say they hate the color of this gloss. The stickiness of the gloss is another story. Like all MAC glosses, this gloss is a bit sticky. It's not so overly sticky that you feel like you just smeared King Syrup on your lips, but as it wears off, you do feel that sticky residue. But in my opinion, I feel that stickier glosses are better, since they stay on a lot longer than a thinner gloss would. Who wants to have to reapply lipgloss all day? I'm done rambling now lol. Overall, I love this gloss. A perfect starter lipgloss shade for someone just getting into MAC.
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lipgloss in Sugar High
Hannahbby2 11/3/2009 5:17:00 PM
I love this gloss! It kind of smells like vanilla/sugar cookie batter, which I love! The taste is good too, it tastes sweet and sugary. The only reason why I knocked a lippie off is because it's so sticky! The beauty rush glosses do tend to be on the sticky side, but this one especially. I can deal though, since it does last a pretty long time. <3
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Lineur Intense liquid liner - brush tip
Hannahbby2 10/31/2009 1:55:00 PM
As much as I like the intense black color of this liner, I HATE the formula and brush. The brush is way too flimsy and long, it makes it easy to make mistakes. It's not tapered or pointed at all, so it's hard to make a precise line. The formula is horrible. I don't have oily skin, so therefore I don't have oily lids at all. This eyeliner literally peeled off and got in my eye towards the end of the day. Overall horrible liquid eyeliner. Don't waste your time, money, or risk getting an eye infection.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
Hannahbby2 10/29/2009 6:56:00 PM
I loved UDPP when I first got it, I was so excited because of all the reviews on it. Then came the day when it dried out. I did manage to cut it open, but it took forever and I was so afraid I was going to cut myself, since I had to use a super sharp knife since my steak-knife wasn't sharp enough. I was amazed at the amount of product I got out of it. It filled up almost a whole travel jar. But, in about 2 weeks that was dried up too. It's not worth it. I mean, it does last pretty long, but it's really irritating that you have to saw it open to get the rest out, only to find that it too is dried out within a week or two. I think I'll try TFSI instead. The packaging is way better.
Cleansers -Olay - Clarifying Daily Facials for Combo/Oily Skin
Hannahbby2 10/13/2009 4:41:00 PM
These things are amazing. They take off my makeup so easily, even the eye makeup. It leaves only a small amount of waterproof behind, but I can deal with that. HG product!
A gorgeous dark purple. It looks almost black in the bottle, but when applied to the nails, it is a glossy dark plummy purple color. I've just started getting into China Glaze, my first purchace from them was the ever popular, For Audrey. I've been hooked ever since lol. I do wish they had a broader brush like OPI's. I like the broad, thick brush, it makes for a more opaque color on the first coat. But other than that, I am really pleased with this polish.
Ugh. This mascara was really bad. Made my lashes spidery, clumpy, and smelled HORRIBLE! It flaked like crazy. The brush was crappy, it made the mascara glob on the tip and get everywhere. The only thing I like is the packaging. I will never buy this mascara again.
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - pure stay long wearing pressed powder
Hannahbby2 10/4/2009 11:36:00 AM
I've been using this powder for a few days now, and I do like it. It's soft on my skin, doesn't cake, and stays on for a pretty long time. The spf 15 is a plus too! I use it on it's own, I'm not a liquid foundation girl. It always seems to break me out, even though I don't have sensitive skin at all. I do use my own brush, I don't like sponges as they are really unsanitary. I was using the mineral power foundation before this, but I found it oxidized on me, and the colors were much too orange for my skin tone. The one thing I don't like is the packaging. It's rectangular and bulky, with only a small square of foundation and the rest for the sponge. It would get that extra lippie if it were in a circular package and the sponge underneath.
I love Coastal Scents. I love their palettes, gel liners, lipglosses, but most of all their brushes. They are SO high quality, and for the price, you can't beat it! Yes, some brushes have issues with shedding. My duo fibre stippling brush I have from them does shed, but it's nothing major. Just a few hairs here and there. But even the High End brands have brushes that shed pretty badly. *cough* MAC 109 *cough* Overall, I am extremely pleased with these brushes. Unless you're a label whore, you do not need name brand brushes when you can get ones that are of the same quality, for so cheap! Will continue to purchace, I have a feeling all my brushes I own will be from them! :)
My HG base coat. Keeps nail polish from chipping, and overall makes for a nicer looking mani/pedi. I have this obsession with nail polish, my nails must always be painted or else I have a minor stroke lol. This and drip dry, saves my life constantly. I have an issue where I can't go out of the house if my nails look like poop. Aka, chipping, fading, etc. Chip Skip keeps my nail polish from flaking off, and looking nice for longer than 2 days after they are painted. The only complaint I have is that it's really strong smelling. I know what nail polish smells like, but this is like 10x more strong than that. I could make you quite woozy if you're in a confined space without proper ventilation(sp?) IN CONCLUSION. I can't live without this product, don't know how I managed before. Buy it people!
Styling Products -Garnier - Wonder Waves Wave Enhancing Spray
Hannahbby2 9/22/2009 9:14:00 PM
I love this stuff! I have natural wavy-ish hair, and when I want a break from my straightener, I use this stuff. It's wonderful, it gives gorgeous waves, and smells good too! I like that it calms my frizz and makes my hair shiny at the same time, so I don't have to use a million products at once. Will repurchace.
