Conditioner -Sunsilk - Blonde Bombshell Colour Boost
Goldie_Loks 11/13/2007 12:41:00 AM
Ok, most blondes want to minimize unwanted brassy, yellow tones..so WHY oh WHY did Sunsilk make a color boosting product for blondes that is bright * yellow?! I love Sunsilk, and the BB shampoo and conditioner works well and smells great, but I'm disappointed that this product doe the opposite of what it says...which is to eliminate unwanted brassiness..hello?! Brassiness is unwanted YELLOW! I recommend Aveda's Blue Malva, Redken's Pure Pearl, or John Frieda's color glaze to minimize brassiness and boost your color! Of course, some gals might want to add bright warm/yellow tones, if so, then this is the product for you!

Treatments -John Frieda - Luminous Color Glaze

I used the glaze for lt. blonde hair, and I actually really like it! I have to admit, I really dislike the other JF blonde products, so I was pleasantly surprised. It adds the perfect blonde tone's (neither ashy nor golden), and it does make your hair softer and shinier. I like this glaze much better than the Blonde Bombshell color boost from Sunsilk (it makes your hair YELLOW). I think next I will try the clear glaze, since I want the shine, but love my hair color just the way it is! Overall, an excellent addition to anyone's shampoo and conditioner line!

Powders -Jane Iredale - Pure Matte Finishing Powder
Goldie_Loks 11/13/2007 12:02:00 AM
I love Jane Iredale's pressed mineral foundation, but my skin gets oily quickly, so I have to use her PureMatte Pressed Finishing powder throughout the day. This is the best finishing powder EVER!!! It does not change the color of your foundation, and never cakes up upon itself, no matter how many times you re-apply throughout the day (and believe me I do re-apply A LOT!). It gives a wonderful matte finish, while still looking natural and beautiful. Her pressed powders are the only I have found that don't break me out, and they are definitely worth the painfully high price.

Concealers -Jane Iredale - Disappear
Goldie_Loks 11/12/2007 11:58:00 PM
Ok, I love Jane Iredale's pressed mineral foundation and her Matte finishing powder, so of course, I assumed that her concealer would be just as wonderful....but I was horribly wrong!!! I'm so absolutely disappointed and angry that I wasted so much money on a product that's so useless! I need a concealer to cover small blemishes...yes SMALL blemishes, and this concealer couldn't even handle that! It smears, not covers....it's too thin and oily, and miserable to work with! I use a small concealer brush too, so there's no excuse! I found it absolutely laughable that this product claims it will cover even a tattoo, so just for kicks, I put some on one of my tat's and it didn't cover the least bit! So there, I proved it's just a product that makes false promises! Try her pressed foundation though, it's a billion times better than this product!

Powder -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Base
Goldie_Loks 11/12/2007 11:53:00 PM
I had been using BE for about 2 years, when I heard that JI had a line of pressed mineral foundation. I ordered a sample, and was hooked! I have very sensitive skin, that breaks out from most kinds of makeup (even non-comedogenic formulas), and not only did I not break out with this makeup, it actually improved my skin! In fact, I break out when I DON'T wear it! It's also so natural looking, and it stays true to it's color and wear all day and all night long. 12 hours later, I look as good as I did in the morning! This is a product that makes the statement true "you get what you pay for". *Update: I switched to another brand , and when I went back to this one, I realized how shiny it makes my face, and poor/very sheer coverage, so I'm no longer using this.

Conditioner -Redken - Blonde Glam Conditioner
Goldie_Loks 11/12/2007 11:49:00 PM
I have been many shades of blonde, and most recently am a light golden/strawberry blonde. I should point out, I have very thick, coarse, dry hair and require moisturizing products. I was excited to see a blonde line from Redken (John Frieda's line is disappointing), so I purchased the gift set with the S&C and Pearl treatment. I absolutely love the grapefruit scent, that both the S&C have (I don't know why some reviewers are saying that the conditioner has a Pina Colada scent)...they are BOTH grapefruit and wonderful. It did in fact brighten my golden locks, as well as add shine. These did not strip my hair nor make it brassy (like JF blonde S&C). I would have given it a 5 rating if it was a little more moisturizing, but I'm definitely pleased with the results, and will buy these products again.
