Redkens Color Extend Conditioner is great! Excellent detangler, keeps hair soft and silky with a sweet fragrance. A little goes a long way. I have a highlight in my hair, which is thick and straight and can be tangly-- this is the best product for making it easy to comb out and keeping it looking glossy and beautiful. I don't like to have to pay a lot of hair care products and Redken is a bit pricey, but I do think that it is better quality so it is worth it!

Lipstick -Lancome - Rouge Absolu Creme - Rose Petale

A perfect shade for every day--Rose Petale is a lovely rose-pink that looks soft and feminine without looking overly made up. This is an excellent choice for working professionals and for females who like to not try too hard because they don't have to! Lancome lipstick is hands-down the best in consistency--creamy with staying power. I *love* this shade so much that I am on my 4th tube!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

Excellent skin cleanser for a myriad of skin conditions. I am a Cetaphil convert! I used to think that I had to scrub and agitate my skin in order to get and keep it clear--wrong! Cetaphil is the answer- it removes dirt and excess oil from your skin while keeping your face soft and supple. I was astonished that I could use something so mild and not break out--its counterintuitive, but actually "less is more"- skin just needs to be gently cleansed and left alone. If you are using other topical products from your derm this is a good cleanser too as it is so pure and mild. I appreciate that it is readily accessible in drug stores and is not too expensive. The manufacturer of Cetaphil is the same pharmaceutical company that makes the leading prescriptive treatments for roscacea and acne--that in itself indicates that this product is exceptionally formulated for special skin needs. I ***love*** applying soft Cetaphil and getting my face pure and clean.

Cleansers -Skinceuticals - Simply Clean

I was disappointed with Skinceuticals Simply Clean. The thought of having a product that would cleanse my skin enough to get rid of any debris and increase its overall health with AHA's was very appealing to me. I found Simply Clean to be mediocre at best. My skin is oily with a tendency to break out around my menstrual cycle-- Simply Clean was too aggravating for my skin. While it has a pleasant fragrance, it feels like you are applying a sticky gel to your face that tingles and sometimes burns only to disrupt the delicate balance of your face, rather than improve it. I would not buy this product again as it is ineffective and overpriced

Cleansers -Biore - Foaming Liquid Cleanser

Biore Foaming Liquid Cleanser has a nice fragrance, but it is quite harsh and drying- even for me who has oily skin with monthly break-outs! I felt like it aggravated my acne rather than clear it up. If you are someone whose skin is shiny and oily but not acnegenic, then this would be a good choice as it is reasonably priced, but it really disrupts the natural balance of combination skin and is too drying and harsh.

Blush -Lancome - Blush Subtil in Aplum

I am a big fan of Lancome products. Blush Subtil is a great product which imparts a lasting blush of color that can be layered and lasts. I am not happy with the Aplum shade. It has too much grey in its base leaving a dingey look on my fair-medium complexion. It did not give me a lift or a perk which is what I look for a blusher to do. I also preferred the older styling of the blusher compact with the pan of blush positioned horizontally, rather than vertically--this was simply easier and more natural for applying the color and looking at yourself in the mirror at the same time. Amourose was my favorite color and the new Sheer Amourose does not come close to giving the pretty and elegant pink of its predecessor.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Quickliner for eyes- smoky brown

This is hands down the most versatile eyeliner I have ever used--it gives you a lovely soft, natural brown line that gives your eyes subtle enhancement for day or use the smudge tip on the back to give yourself a smokier effect for evening. Great color, even, accurate application, and good durability. This is more expensive than drug-store brands, but I am *very* careful about what I apply on or near my eyes, so I feel the most comfortable using Clinique products as they are known for their purity. I have gone through 3 of these already and I am certain it will be a permanent fixture in my makeup bag. 3/14/05- still my HG- I have gone through 2 more of these perfect pencils--it is the best consistency with just the right amount of intensity for day that can be layered for night--love it!
