Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer
itsKelCeeEee 1/14/2012 12:31:00 PM
Yas. YASSSSSSSSS. This concealer made me break away from the wretched world of drugstore cosmetics (they just never have any shades that work the way I want for me). I am a broke college student so I never would've even stepped foot in Macy's or Sephora because like I once said, "Why do that when I can find something just as good for cheaper?" Well, luckily my godmother practically forced me in the makeup artist's chair when I went to visit her and commented on the difficulty in covering my raccoon eyes and hyperpigmentation that often hits my forehead, chin, and rarely cheeks. The makeup artist chose for me this concealer in NW37 or NW40, I forgot. I'll figure it out before I need to buy more :P Anyway, this concealer, paired up with the pressed powder she also got me, does wonders. Light amount covers up all my scars from previous random breakouts, and my undereyes have a healthy, well rested glow to them. The pressed powder I use as a little finish, and I put on mascara and (sometimes) eyeliner. That's it. And my skin looks amazing. Like, people compliment me on it all the time. I was mortified that this concealer along with the powder and a lipgloss cost 58 dollars, but the fact that I've had the concealer for a good month and there's not even a dent is awesome. I definitely don't mind repurchasing a high quality product that lasts and shows results. Sorry that this was so long, but the main thing I'm trying to say is buy it. NOW. Lol

Treatments -L'Oreal - EverStrong Deep Replenishing Masque
itsKelCeeEee 1/14/2012 11:51:00 AM
Funny thing about it, my hair loves this stuff. I thought it would hate it since it seemed kinda thin and my hair's extremely thick, but I was wrong. I usually shampoo and condition my hair in the shower before using this and combing my hair out. It gets the knots, snarls and tangles out of my hair so well and I barely need to use any. After that I put my hair in a bun or some twists that I bobby pin up and put a shower cap over my hair. I leave it on for around an hour, unless I'm really sleepy, then I leave it on all night and rinse it out when I wake up. I know some people avoid it because of the mineral oil, but it's further down the ingredients list and doesn't bother my hair at all. I usually get it when it's on clearance though. But yeah, I use it once every few weeks for a deep conditioning treatment (I alternate deep conditioners) and this one leaves my hair soft and moisturized while clumping my curls together amazingly. Great product. And the smell is soft enough where I don't get annoyed smelling it on me.

Conditioner -Aveeno - Nourish + Moisturize Conditioner
itsKelCeeEee 1/14/2012 4:29:00 AM
Awful, awful awful. While it wasn't detrimental to my hair's health, but it did absolutely nothing to help it. Offered no slip or detangling properties when I was trying to work a comb through my hair...it just sort of sat there. After FIVE huge palm fulls of this conditioner it took half of a palm full of my usual conditioner to comb out my hair. That's basically how I've almost finished off the bottle. Haha. I'll never buy this again. It did nothing for me. Btw, my hair is extremely dense, thick, kinky-curly and shoulder length. It gets dry very easily and sucks up products like it's water, so if your hair is anything near mine you should probably pass. If not though, you'll probably be okay.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
itsKelCeeEee 1/8/2012 4:48:00 PM
Yo my hair is in love with this conditioner! It's thick yet it has soooo much "slip" to help me comb out my hair in the shower! Also I use my denman brush with it and the conditioner really seems to absorb in my hair better. Also when I rinse it out my hair STILL feels healthy, moisturized, and flowy. I be whippin my curly-kinks around in front of the mirror like it's nothing. Haha. The price is also right enough where I can use a few palmfuls on my thick (THICKKKKK) hair and not be mad when I have to buy more because the bottle's gone. You also get a nice sized bottle for the amount you pay considering its quality. Very impressive. I like this one and I use it regularly, but there's another tresemme naturals line called vibrantly smooth (it has coconut and jojoba in it), and that conditioner does exactly what this one does, only five times better. So I mainly use that one. But when I can't find it in stock, I turn to the nourishing moisture one.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Original Scent Lotion
itsKelCeeEee 12/26/2011 12:54:00 AM
In the spring/summer I stick with St. Ives lotions, but in the winter I'm all about Jergens. It's creamy, smells nice and has a good, thick consistency. It sinks into my skin effortlessly and doesn't leave any sort of sticky feeling. It makes my skin softer and it may be my imagination, but various scars on my body that I've had for years look like they're fading ever since I've began using it. That, however, could be from anything. I will say that there is one thing to be cautious about: be careful if you want to use this on your face instead of a facial moisturizer, because it may not play well with other cleansers/toners you use. I applied a little bit to my cheeks and forehead to rub in out of curiosity one night after a shower and underneath my eyes, my cheeks, my eyebrow area and chin started to burn. I had to wash it off asap. I usually don't use regular lotions on my face anyway so chances are it won't happen to you, but use caution regardless. Overall, at least for my body, this lotion is amazing.

Scrubs -The Body Shop - Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator
itsKelCeeEee 12/23/2011 12:34:00 AM
Love it love it loooove itttt. The grains are small enough not to tear at your skin yet large enough to exfoliate your pores like it promises, leaves a clean tingly feeling, and foams like a cleanser on my skin. It controls my oily nose and forehead without drying out my moderately dry cheeks and chin. I also feel like it makes my skin glow and appear softer after I use it. The only face exfoliator I buy, and with the relatively small bottle lasting me for four-six months, I never mind repurchasing. Totally worth it.

Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup
itsKelCeeEee 12/17/2011 5:23:00 AM
I have to use the darkest shade in "cool", which is really odd because I actually have warm undertones, but whatever. All the warm undertone ones make me look ashy. I like it on days I remember to put on moisturizer under it, because if I don't then the corners of my mouth and areas around my eyebrows look cakey. Sometimes I probably layer it too thick which makes it more difficult to successfully blend but I'll blame myself for being heavy handed on it. Overall I like it, it's a good substitute for if you don't Sephora money to spend on makeup (which I never seem to anymore). I just wish they had more of a selection for darker skin tone individuals.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - makeup dissolving facial cleansing wipes
itsKelCeeEee 12/16/2011 12:21:00 PM
I adore these. I was devoted to the Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes but the price was a bit off putting after awhile and I wasn't sure how effective they really were. These wipes, however, do exactly what they say they will. I was surprised by how moist they WEREN'T and thought they wouldn't work, but one wipe took off all my concealer and foundation, along with my mascara. It leaves my face feeling tingly (the acid in it I guess) and fresh. The price is reasonable as well. I highly recommend these. :]

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash
itsKelCeeEee 10/8/2011 10:49:00 AM
This is my go-to cleanser. I use this cleanser every morning and the nightly cleanser (the purple one with the little beads in it) at night. Thanks to this system my skin stays on POINT. Rare zits (usually hormone induced) and the ones I do get are gone in 48-72 hours, nor do they get huge like the big, painful cystic zits I used to get. I get the big bottle from Walmart and it lasts forever.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser
itsKelCeeEee 10/8/2011 10:41:00 AM
It smells nice, but it dries my skin out way too badly and sometimes it's so tight that it gets red and irritated. I tried the orange one instead and it's MUCH better suited for me. If you have durable skin though, try it out.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Oatmeal and Shea butter
itsKelCeeEee 10/8/2011 12:22:00 AM
I can't rave about this product enough. St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion is one of the few skin/hair/body products that I repurchase over and over. It leaves my skin feeling absolutely amazing when I apply it once a day, and whereas I used to think putting on lotion was a chore it's so luxurious that I look forward to using it after my showers. Unless they seriously do something to screw up the formula (oh god no) I'm pretty sure that I will keep using this lotion into the far future. I love it that much. Haha. Everything you've heard is true. GO GET IT. ...I mean, really. It's like, 3 dollars and some change at Target? C'mon. Edit (2/28/12): PERFECT FOR HIVES RELIEF OMG. Had hives from an allergic reaction where all the creams and ointments in the world did nothing to relieve the itchiness. Since I use Jergen's in the winter I hadn't been using this for awhile. Tried this on my skin. Instant, sweet relief. I know oatmeal's good for hives/skin and I didn't think this lotion would have enough oatmeal in it to help any, but it was a lifesaver. My opinion still stands. One of the best drugstore lotions (and for me, lotions period) that you will ever come across.

Hair -Kinky Curly - Knot Today leave-in conditioner
itsKelCeeEee 9/27/2011 7:50:00 PM
I love this stuff, although I try not to use it as much as my other leave-ins since it's so friggin expensive. I just use it as a leave-in and put it in my hair in sections; I use the least amount possible this way while still getting good results.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope Oil-Free SPF
itsKelCeeEee 6/1/2011 9:00:00 PM
This moisturizer is great. A sample came in my SPF Sephora Sun Kit I ordered and it's what I go to for the days I don't feel like putting on makeup. It's extremely lightweight like it claims to be and I actually feel like my skin's being protected from the sun's UV rays. Also, a little goes a very long way. I would recommend putting it on a completely dry face though, because it's harder to mix in when there's any sort of water on your skin. If this were in my budget I'd buy it all the time, but for now I'll finish off the sample and then rebuy when I want to splurge.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
itsKelCeeEee 6/1/2011 8:56:00 PM
EDIT (5/13/2012): Okay, I had to bump this up a lippie because I was using organic black soap on my face to help with the scaring and in turn, my never-sensitive-never-complicated skin started burning one day when I used it! It literally left small, black scabby burn marks on my chin and cheeks right by my nose. It also made my forehead raw and red, and my combination/dry skin got three times drier. I happened to be in Sephora the day it happened (I was just going to switch back to my regular purpose cleanser) and saw this. I figured a cream cleanser may be more soothing to my skin at this point and got the 8oz since despite my earlier review I did like it, I just wasn't always willing to spend 20+ on it. Boy, am I glad I gave this a second chance. First of all, using it to take off makeup was shockingly pleasant. I probably wear makeup 2-4 days a week, and on half those days I play around with my eye shadows and lipsticks, and wear A LOT of it. I washed my makeup off with a quarter sized amount of this like it was nothing. I did massage it into my face for a good minute or two but I do that anytime I wash my face anyway. I ran a cotton ball of toner over my face afterwards and it was clean as a whistle (minus a few smudges from where I wiped it underneath my jawbone, where I hadn't quite focused on when washing). It made all my super dry spots feel soothed. Andddd, when I used it before putting on my makeup, it seemed easier to apply and had a better finish? I felt a lot more satisfied using it this time around, and since I know how little you really need to use I'll probably have the bottle for a long time. That makes it a good purchase in my book. 4 lippies and not 5 because I still think the price sucks, even if it does make it worthwhile in the long run. Also, a personal bias, I still kind of wish it foamed. I also like its creamy consistency though, so I can't complain too much. I'd say to get the small $10 bottle if you want to try it, because it will last you a good four months if you use it right. Oh, and I use this with a face scrub brush or whatever (I just buy a new one every month from Sally's) and it works ten times better. Much deeper cleaning without the dryness. (Original review below). ---- I love the smell and how gentle it is, but I'm pretty sure this cleanser doesn't do any more for my face than a regular drugstore brand would. Although the price is off the wall it lasts for an extremely long time, so if you get a big sized bottle you're going to have it a good six months to a year. I bought the trial size for twelve dollars, which is this little mini bottle, and I've had it for almost two months and it's only to the halfway mark. Still, when it's all gone, I doubt I'll buy it again. It just doesn't feel like it cleans my face as much as I'd like. If your skin is extremely sensitive, however, I do recommend this.

Conditioner -Garnier - Pure-Clean
itsKelCeeEee 6/1/2011 8:51:00 PM
Aww man, why all the hate for this? This conditioner is such a great product! It offers awesome slip when you go to comb your hair out, the ingredients are eco-friendly and wonderful, and the smell is great. My hair seriously feels healthier after I use it. I can't get enough of the Pure Clean line.
