Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - DiorKiss - 338 Spicy Guava

This is a beautiful gloss. I was looking for my Lancome Juicy Tubes in Peche and is was sold out in the Duty Free when I noticed this new color. From memory it was a dead ringer for my JT and also a good size tube like a JT so much more value for money than most of these glosses. Although they are basically the same color, I feel like the JT has a better lasting quality and slightly more colour payoff while still being sheer. This is nice but I prefert the JT in peche and will get that from now on. Also, if this is limited edition, it is good to know that the JT would be a good replacement for anyone who loves this.

Foundations -Christian Dior - Icone [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

I have to say, I love this foundation. I am not a foundation person and have gotten away with loose powder for most of my life. I only started looking into foundations when I got engaged for my wedding day. One of the reasons I don't really wear foundation is that most break me out very badly or just make me greasy. This one is one of only two I had ever tried (the other is Too Faced Magic Wand) that did not break me out. I initially tried this when I was quite tan and got a darker shade (honey beige). It blends like a dream (I only use a large pea size amount) and controls oil on my T-zone. Along with the Dior loose powder, I look flawless without looking mask-like. Being a non-foundation person, being able to wear this throughout the summer should say something and no one can tell I have foundation and powder on and never felt heavy as the consistency is very whipped. Even when I was lighter, this blended and just gave a color boost instead of piling on bronzer and stayed the entire day like I just put it on on my wedding day and looked amazing in my pictures, I was so pleased with it. The Dior loose powder can also be used on its own for a great effect and the Dior blushes with the four colors (sunrise party and sunset fiesta) are also brilliant and used sunrise party with this combo on my wedding day and was gorgeous and long-lasting together. They are pricey but last long and well worth it!

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Coco Extreme
rated 4 of 5

I have been looking for a good coconut fragrance and this is it! I cannot understand the negative reviews at all. It is a true coconut smell which is sweet but not cloying and men love it. I actually found that I could even get whiffs of it by the end of the day. I also have the vanilla coco and this coco extreme is even a bit more wearable as it is a little less sweet with the smaller amount of vanilla and more unusual to have a scent that is almost all coconut as there are so many vanilla smells out there, although I am not knocking the vanille coco, it is also yummy! I also love the packaging on CSP. It is not the most glamorous, but I can take it in my bag or for travel and not worry about it breaking and going all over everything.

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Vanille Coco
rated 4 of 5

I love this. I was typically into fresher smells like Coco Mademoiselle and Gucci II but have recently gotten more in the mood for vanilla type fragrances. I was in love with the Victoria's Secret exotic nectars Tahitian Vanilla Flower body spray, but as anything fabulous, it was recently discontinued. I realised that I was able to love a vanilla finally because of the coconut added to it which cut the sweetness factor, making it a bit more crisp. This perfume is my replacement for the VS scent is very close, although more vanilla that the VS. It is very comforting and men love the smell. Defo a thumbs up on this although I think it might be too sweet for the very warmest times of the year.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
bulbataras 6/8/2006 5:20:00 AM

This is the absolute best top coat ever!!!!!! I have been using this for years and it is the best. It tends to get thick and gloopy half way through the bottle but even when it is thick, it still dries super fast. I sorted this by being lucky enough to get it from my nail salon where they sell tiny bottles of it so that it doesn't get thick before you finish it...amazing! When I use this, I can start doing things with my hands within minutes without ever worrying I will ruin a nail. I can go to bed fairly quickly after doing my nails and have never woken up with messed nails. I recently ran out and it was sold out of the store I normally get it it, so tried the Nails Inc high speed topcoat, which was even a few pounds more, did it one hour before bed and woke up with my whole right hand ruined by sheets cuts into the polish...ridiculous! I redid the hand with the Seche Vite the next night (thank goodness I found it somewhere else) and was able to pack a suitcase within minutes and looks perfect the day!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 4 of 5
bulbataras 5/19/2006 6:16:00 AM

I have purchased this twice now and always seem to come back to this. I find that it is the best blush at livening up my complexion. I sometimes think that I want to switch to blue based pinks for blush as love the look and that is the natural flush of my cheeks, but they never really seem to give the same life my skin as peachier ones. This is by far the best blush I have owned and I will always have it in my collection.

Self Tanners -Garnier - Bodysummer
rated 4 of 5
bulbataras 5/16/2006 10:52:00 AM

This is a really great moisturiser with a bit of self tanner. I haven't tried any of the other ones, so cannot give a comparison but in reading various reviews, I think this one might be one of the better ones. It's initial smell is great (like grapefruit) but eventually turns out like any self tan product. The color payoff is great and fades naturally without going patchy and this really does moisturise very well, so don't need a separate moisturiser. I think I will stay with this product as is very cheap at £6.99 for the 400ml bottle and since all of these products have the self tan smell after awhile, there doesn't seem to be a reason to switch. This never goes patchy and the color is never yellow like some others. As the color payoff is good, especially after the second application, I usually only need this a few times a week to maintain a natural color and you do need to spread evenly, especially on feet and hands. I find the best way to apply to hands is the apply at the end as a regular hand cream and just wipe the inside of your hand with some wet or dry cotton round or tisse. Doing it this way, I have never gotten color in my palms and keeps your from having an obvious cut off line on the sides of your hands. I do put a tiny bit of moisturiser on dry parts of my hand before to make sure it doesn't grab the color there too much.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Straight
rated 5 of 5
bulbataras 5/5/2006 6:09:00 AM

I have used every hyped products for straightening and this is the best. I have thick, curly but fine hair that I TR. I have let the TR go for a year and and now it is also quite long, so needed something to cotrol it, smooth,it but while giving body and keep the regrowth straight...this is it. I have wasted so much money but finally found this. You don't need a lot and even the small size I bought just to try it will last a few months. This gives sleep with out being greasy and creates smoothness with some weight but keeps the body...love it, am so happy with this.

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco
rated 4 of 5
bulbataras 5/5/2006 6:06:00 AM

I used Styling lotion for years but just recently tried this with Super Rich Conditioner and Straight and and in love. I have always used high quality products but nothing has impressed my as much as these products. This smells delicious, lathers well and you don't need a lot so although expensive, it will last. Make hair so soft and silky, as well as manageable. New HG.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Styling Lotion
rated 4 of 5
bulbataras 5/5/2006 6:04:00 AM

I have bought this a few times and always seem to stick with it which is very unusual for me. It has light but effective hold and I only use it on my roots before I blow dry to give some volume, keep shorter layers straight and help hold the blow out on my regrowth from TR. Will continue to buy this.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Super Rich Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
bulbataras 5/5/2006 6:02:00 AM

This is an amazing conditioner. I have thick, naturally curly that I TR and color so I need something really good. My hair is quite healthy now as I have not done the TR in a year but I still need a great conditioner. My hair is quite long and I need very little of this compared to any other conditioner I have ever used, so it definitely justifies the price as I think this will last a long time. The smell is delicious as well, always a plus. I have never felt my hair like this, smooth and soft but body as well.

Styling Products -Phyto - Phytospecific Moisturizing Styling Balm
rated 2 of 5
bulbataras 5/3/2006 12:34:00 PM

I did not like this at all. I have TR'd hair but it is a year grown out and actually very healthy considering that I also highlight it. I wanted something with hold to help blow dry the regrowth but also that will not dry it out. This made my hair so greasy no matter how little (pea size) I used and I have a lot of hair and it is also long. It also make the ends feel dry even though the rest felt slimy and weighed down. Even though it had hold, it did not hold the blowout and better than anything else I have tried. I have recently tired Bumble & Bumble straight and it is the best thing I have ever tried. I always wanted to try this and so dissapointed especially since I got this to fill up part of a refund, now realised that I should have just gotten the full refund and passed on this. Oh well, at least I discovered the B&B Straight...give it a try.

Lipstick -Guerlain - KissKiss Maxi Shine 662 Peach Shine
rated 5 of 5
bulbataras 4/27/2006 12:33:00 PM

This is a gorgeous color and the packaging is absolutely stunning. Usually I do not make a big fuss about packaging but it is like another piece of jewellry. It is three gold boxes stacked on top of each other and has a realy 40's glamour quality to it. The color is a gorgeous pinky peach and almost looks like a liptstick version of RMK metallic beige gloss with a bit more warmth. The color is a glossy but not shiny and really lasts without feeling heavy and lips feels creamy. If you like the Pink shine and are not opposed to a bit more warmth, go for this. This would look great with paler winter skin and I hope and think it will look great with a tan as well. Think this is one of my first HG lippies as usually change constantly.

Moisturizers -Mario Badescu - Seaweed Night Cream
rated 4 of 5
bulbataras 4/26/2006 4:56:00 AM

This is my first night cream and I love it. I have combo skin prone to breakouts and have a reaction to most products I try. I have had great luck with this line and my skin is much better. I don't really like the smell of this but otherwise I love it. I softens and moisturises without breakouts and a little goes a very long way so this will last for ages.
