Styling Products -TRESemme - Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Creme
Cymbaline 5/29/2007 4:39:00 PM
Good stuff! I keep a tube of this in my desk drawer at work for those days I shower in the morning and even with a leave in conditioner my hair still has some frizzes. I just rub a bit between my palms and over my hair and it gets rid of those extra frizzes. My hair feels soft and not weighed down or sticky.

Scrubs -Clinique - Exfoliating Scrub
Cymbaline 5/29/2007 4:10:00 PM
OMG I love this scrub so freaking much! I have been using it since I was at least 16 or younger and I always go back. Now days I don't need it as much as I use to since my skin isn't oily but it's still a great scrub. No other scrub I've used seems to "scrub" as much as this stuff does and it leaves your skin tingly. I love the smell as well! My HG!

Hair Styling Tools -Revlon - Digital Tourmaline & Ceramic Flat Iron
Cymbaline 5/29/2007 1:40:00 PM
I love this flat iron! My hair turns out wonderful, it's soft and has no frizz and my hair lasts like this despite the humity in the air. My corse hair is now soft, silky and shiny! The Iron has a digital thermometer that goes up to 395 degrees, pink tourmaline plates which according to what I have read emit negative ions when heated which when combined with ceramic infrared heat helps to seal the hair cuticle for hair that is smooth, shiny and resistant to humidity. I love the color of this iron as well which isn't a reason to buy it but I wanted to include that is has great look appeal lol. The pink and brown combination is very pretty. The plate size is awesome as well, I can iron my very thick, waist length hair in under 30 minutes.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Kabuki Brush
Cymbaline 5/29/2007 12:49:00 PM
I hate this brush! I really do. For the price you pay you should be getting a soft brush that doesn't shed everywhere. I'm glad I received mine included with my starter kit because I would have never purchased it. This brush pokes at my face and sheds everywhere. Not a good item. Instead I purchased a nice, soft bronzer brush from Sephora.

I agree with everyone here! It's yummy smelling and does a great job on my hair. It is however a bit thin but I can deal with that.

Treatments -Phyto - Phyto 7
Cymbaline 3/7/2007 12:40:00 PM
I wrote this for Phyto 9 but Phyto 7 is basically the same as Phyto 9 but just not as concentrated (as told to me by the Sephora rep).
Ok, here's the deal. The main ingredient in Phyto 9 or 7 is macadamia oil and then there is a base made out of soy. It's good stuff but why not just use macadamia oil itself?
After purchasing one tube of this and actually loving how soft my hair was and how conditioned my hair became I loved it! But I hate the price. At 24.00 dollars for a small (maybe 6oz) tube of the stuff it doesn't last very long and it's very pricey.
My hair is thick and coarse and really loved this stuff but I don't like the price. So I went to Wholefoods and bought a large 18oz bottle of 100% macadamia oil from the cooking section for 9.99 and took it home and tried it.
Ha! Take that Phyto 9 and your wonderful hair product. It worked great! Straight macadamium oil made my hair feel like silk, no more frizzies and best of all you only need a little (same as Phyto 9) so it doesn't leave your hair looking greasy.
Ok I admit Phyto 9 is great! It really is, I love it but honestly. Why pay 24 + for a small amount of it when it even advertises that it's mostly macadamia oil anyways??
I've tried olive oil before but that leaves my hair pretty greasy and not soft. I do love another olive oil tye product but it wasn't straight olive oil so I couldn't reproduce the affects.
Phyto 9 is mostly macadamia oil so the affect Phyto 9 had on my hair was reproduced easily.
Seriously ladies, if you love Phyto 9 give straight macadamia oil a try. Go to Whole Foods or any other speciality food store, buy a small bottle of macadamia oil and try it. Don't drown your hair in it (or if you do leave it on over night) but use a small amount.
Macadamia oil doesn't smell and it really penatrates your hair. If it doesn't work for you return it to the store.

Masks -Origins - Clear Improvement
Cymbaline 1/21/2007 3:18:00 PM
I totally love this mask. It wasn't very appealing to me when I first bought it because of the color. It looks like you are putting mud on your face but when I tried it, wow! I have combination skin so I only use it on the oily parts of my skin (as suggested by the rep) and it really took out the black heads and closed in my pore. I think this stuff does what it says it will do. Good job Origins! I like the fact that the product is in a squeeze tub and not in some tub and the smell isn't bad either. Smells a bit like clay but not overly powering.

Scrubs -Origins - Never A Dull Moment Skin-Brightening Face Polisher with Fruit Enzymes
Cymbaline 1/21/2007 3:04:00 PM
I did not care for this product. It smells nice but it didn't really exfoliate my skin very well. I think the concept behind this scrub is not really a scrub but something with the Fruit Enzmes is suppose to brighten your skin. Unfortunately this didn't really work for me. I also don't care for products where you have to stick your hand into the product to get it out. Yuck. Oh well I hope it works well for others.

Treatments -Origins - A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian
Cymbaline 1/21/2007 2:19:00 PM
I don't really know how to feel about this product. When I use it, it does make my skin feel soft but that is about it. I know it's suppose to be used for prevention so the only thing I can say is I hope it works.

Toners -Origins - A Perfect World Liquid Moisture with White Tea
Cymbaline 1/21/2007 1:20:00 PM
I will tell you what this product does. It does clean off any makeup or dirt left behind from when you washed your face and it leaves a nice tingle to your face and it has a nice fresh smell to it. This product does not dry your skin out. It uses different oils from Rosemary, Orange, to Spearmint to provide it's toning and cleaning abilities. If you have dry skin or even combination skin I would try this product. I have very dry patches of skin and generally toners will dry my skin and make my skin feel tight this did not happen with this product. I paid 20.00 dollars for this product which I feel is not an extremely bad price.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - temptations 3 in 1 Crazy Caramel Corn
Cymbaline 1/20/2007 6:48:00 PM
Oh yum I have had a wonderfully yummy smelling holiday. I was given this bath wash as a Christmas present and it's just so yummy smelling! I haven't used it as a shampoo but I have used it as a shower gel and it smells wonderful! This shower gel isn’t as Philosophy's Waffle cone 3 in 1 but it is somewhat moisturizing. I have not used it as a shampoo yet because of my experience with Philosophy’s 3 in one being too moisturizing and leaving my hair feeling oily but I because this one isn’t so as moisturizing as Philosophy’s shower gel I may give this one a try as a shampoo.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Waffle Cone 3-in-1
Cymbaline 1/20/2007 6:30:00 PM
Oh wow this stuff smells so good! I just want to eat it! Ok I am only giving this 4 lippies because this is suppose to be a 3 in 1 product but I can not use it as a shampoo because it's too moisturizing and leaves my hair feeling oily. If you have very, very dry hair this maybe a good thing for you but for me it makes the hair closer to my scalp (I have waist length hair) too oily. I love it as a body wash though, it’s very moisturizing which is rather nice. I think the price (10 dollars) is fair since it’s a 3 in 1 product and is suppose to be used for a body wash and shampoo but since I would only use it as a body wash the price is on the high side for me.

Styling Products -Frederic Fekkai - Finishing Polish
Cymbaline 1/20/2007 5:54:00 PM
I wrote this review for the Glossing Cream with Olive Oil but since I also used the Finishing Product as well during that time I'm including it on here as well. This stuff worked wonders for my hair. Thank You Frederic Fekkai! ----------------- Ok I am proof that this stuff works and works wonders! I discovered this product by asking others on the MUA board what product they would recommend for thick, dry, frizzy hair. My hair is very thick and was dry and frizzy and nothing, nothing, nothing was working to calm it down. I had to use mouse and hair gel every day or be stuck with hair so frizzy it was painful. It would knot up and break.. let's just say it was down right ugly. I started using this and right away I found that my hair was softer and shiner. After using this product and Frederic Fekkai's serum my hair started to change. My hair these days is soft, shiny and healthy looking. I no longer have to use this product or Frederic Fekkai’s serum anymore. This product has transformed my hair from the thick, dry, and frizzy mess to thick, soft and sexy. I’m serious here! If you could have just seen the way my hair was and the way it is now you would know how serious I am. My hair these days is what I have dreamed of wanting for years and years. I can now just wash my hair, use a little leave in conditioner to detangle it and that’s it. It lies down, it’s soft, thick, has volume to it and I love it! So I don’t use this stuff anymore, I don’t have to but I owe the fact that my hair is the way it is now to this stuff. I highly recommend it.

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Royal Jelly Eye Cream
Cymbaline 1/19/2007 12:01:00 AM
I received this stuff as a gift and let's just say I'm very glad I never purchased it. The container it comes in has a small opening on the top which is for someone like me who has long finger nails make it disgusting to put your fingers to apply the stuff. I put some one under my eyes and as the other reviews had said it's very think which maybe ok for night time use but I would be careful it doesn't end up blocking the pores around your eyes. I also didn't like the smell, I'm not a fan of the sickly sweet smell but at least the smell isn't a result of a fume which would irate your eyes. Over all I don't think I would buy this, if I did I would use it at night only.
