Treatments (Eye) -Bobbi Brown - Hydrating Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5
wonderbuy 8/29/2010 5:59:00 AM

This is exorbitantly priced for something that is so basic. This is nothing but a very hydrating cream. No other benefits such as anti-ageing, age prevention, minimise dark circles / bags, refine the eye area, etc. If you are really dry and have the money to splurge then you will probably like it but this is nothing you cant get at a chemist for $15. I actually like the Kiehls avocado eye cream and the booths black licrorice eye creams better since they do the same with a lower price tag and have some natural ingredients. This feels like a raw ingredient from a chemist lab.

Treatments (Eye) -Revive - Eye Renewal Cream
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 8/23/2010 10:52:00 PM

Do.not.buy.period. This is nothing but an overpriced eye gel which did not moisturise and left me with stinging and a very sensitive eye area. I am not dry nor am I sensetive. This reminded me of a lesser version of cliniques all about eyes. There may be lots of technology that goes into this and this is used to charge a premium, but this performs to that of a $10 eye gel, but worse since it made me itchy. I got this as a gift but used about half of it expecting some kind of a miracle, but none came. This is nothing but overpriced, dont waste your money on this.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
rated 3 of 5
wonderbuy 8/15/2010 5:57:00 AM

I never thought I would like this as much as I do, but I won’t repurchase due to the fact that I can’t find a perfect color match. I can make it work when used in conjunction with another product to balance the shade but for the price, there are better alternatives out there. This is a soft powder foundation that is workable and lasts all day, which truly does look flawless. It does however oxidize a lot so go for a shade lighter. This is the best powder foundation I have ever tried but the color range is so bad, there needs to be more yellow based shades at the lighter end. I fall between the first and second one, of which neither are yellow based, so if you are fussy about perfect match, then you must try this before buying. The casing is also hard to open, don’t know why that is, but it’s a pain which unnecessarily prevents it being as good as it is. Formula is great but product people have quite a bit of work to do on this, esp given the price.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Elements Microdermabrasion
rated 5 of 5
wonderbuy 8/15/2010 5:34:00 AM

This is one of the very few low end products that perform like a high end one. This is a fabulous product if you want a thorough scrubbing. I cannot ever imagine using this daily, as the label says since my skin would be rubbed raw. The great thing is that you can adjust the way you using this product depending upon your goals. Use with water and lots of product for a gentle scrub, use dry for one with more power and use dry with less product for a thorough scrub. It does leave little particles on the hairline so I suggest that you use this prior to showering. No smell, its concentrated and all in all a no fuss, very effective product which I got on sale for $5. Highly recommended, the best low end scrub I have used, you can’t go wrong.

Cleansers -DDF - Brightening Cleanser
rated 3 of 5
wonderbuy 8/7/2010 10:35:00 PM

This is a pretty good cleanser and gets rid of all grime without being too drying. This has no brightening action since the acids are not on the face for long enough but it does help dislodge dirt. It foams the right amount and is easy to wash off. I do however find this really inconvenient to use due to a lack of a pump. Its a press down nozzle which I then have to squeeze out, and when i do so I get water everywhere since I have already wet my face. For the price, I dont expect physical inconveniences to get in the way. This is a typical example of how packaging can deter customers and due to this I wont repurchase. This is good but not that good for me to put up with the bad packaging every time. I dont see how it cant come with a pump in the box and if it did, I would buy again.

Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation
rated 3 of 5
wonderbuy 8/7/2010 5:15:00 AM

This is pretty good, the only thing is that I can’t find a match and need to mix colours. The formula lasts all day but this oxidises visibly so you may want to set with a lighter powder. I recommend that you try before you buy due to the limited colour range and what you see may not be what you get in 4 hrs. It has a light texture and gives med coverage, it does not contribute to my oilies which is a big plus. Spreads well and a little goes a long way. BUT…. The #4 is yellow based but has too much brown pigment. Those who are that intensity rarely have that much brown in their skin tone, making the skin look really dull. The #4 shade needs to be a darker version of #2 and needs to have predominantly yellow pigment. I find their shade selection to be their downfall over the long term since while I have liked the formula, I can’t find a colour match. What annoys me is that I can’t even mix it with a lighter colour and have to go to another brand for corresponding lighter shade. When I mix #2 and #4, there is too much yellow so while the intensity is right, the shade is wrong making me look mustard.

Primer/ Corrector -Korres - Silicone-Free Face Primer
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 8/7/2010 4:57:00 AM

This did not perform like a primer, more like a half-attempted moisturizer. It is greasy and the worst thing is that it made my pores look huge, and I don’t even have large pores. I would definitely not recommend it to those who are inclined to be oily. This did not give me slip or a smoother surface and gave me pimples after a weeks use. Silicone is not a bad thing in primers and this trade off that image but honestly this is useless. It also did not spread smoothly over moisturiser.

Treatments (Eye) -Kinerase - Restructure Firming Eye Cream
rated 2 of 5
wonderbuy 8/1/2010 4:37:00 PM

This was nothing but a huge disappointment. I purchased this to do a bit more than just moisturise, but all it did was that. I saw no firming effects but it is a decent moisturiser if you are dry around the eyes. The texture is thick, almost balm like with an off-like smell. I would only use this in winter and if you are oily, this would be too much. I also felt that it exacerbated my milia, so if you are concerned about that, I think the under eye rescue would be a better choice since it’s not as thick and has a silkier texture. I felt that this was nothing more than a hydrating drugstore eye cream. I cannot recommend this. I don’t understand the hype around this brand, I don’t think it performs at all and costs a bomb. I did not see any other visible improvements it advertises to produce. I feel that EL Advanced Night Repair for eye is a lot better than this and that this performs on par with a $15 eye cream.

Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 7/30/2010 10:44:00 PM

This is not an effective cleanser nor is this an effective scrub. 2 in 1 products usually have so-so efficacy and this is no different. The concentration of scrub particles is very low but also they scratch very badly and are painful. I would not recommend this under any circumstance, get a proper cleanser and a proper scrub.

Tinted Moisturizer -Bobbi Brown - Tinted Moisturizer [REFORMULATED]
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 7/27/2010 4:39:00 PM

I would not recommend this under any circumstance. Compared to LM, shiseido, dior and smashbox, this is far below par in terms of performance. I would say that hard candy is better than this. The reason is that the formula is so drying, thick and dries to a very powdery finish, its pigment content is close to nil as well. I have combo oily skin and this was extremely uncomfortable to wear. LM cant be beat, dont waste your money on this. TMs are hard to get right so its best to buy from a company that has solid experience in this and BB is not one of them. This is so expensive for what it is. Everything else that I have tried that is better is cheaper. Pls try before you buy.

Moisturizers -Nuxe - Aroma-Perfection Anti-Imperfection Care
rated 5 of 5
wonderbuy 7/19/2010 5:49:00 PM

This is a truly fabulous product for those with combo-oily skins who wish to reduce or prevent pimples. It works very well and is not drying. It actually puts something back into the skin. I used to use the Loccitane red rice moisturiser, which is great for mattifying, but this does more than that and isn’t as drying. There is also a moisturizer in this line that is anti-but I have not tried that. This moisturises well and keeps shine at bay for hours, makeup goes on well on top of this without emphasizing dry parts. This brand may be a bit hard to find but is truly worth it. I would recommend this over and above any of the other commercial brands, since they are full of chemicals and far too stripping. The texture is light and absorbs instantly. I found that with the red rice, after 5 hours, there is build up of oil from the sebum absorbing particles but I don’t find that with this. This is also great if you want to use serum but your skin cant handle 2 products, a light sweep of this assists in absorption and you are left with dry, smooth skin. Highly recommended.

Cleansers -Bobbi Brown - Cleansing Oil
rated 2 of 5
wonderbuy 7/18/2010 4:20:00 PM

In comparison to other cleansing oils on the market, this is grossly over priced for what it is. If you are not an experienced cleansing oil user, you may like this but you are really better off starting with L’Occitane / Bosica or some of the cheaper Asian brands that retail for around $10 and do a better job. The issue with this is that the formula does not rinse clean, even from your hands. This is a massive issue and defies the purpose of a cleansing oil. Almost every other brand out there rinses off better than this. This does go milky but a heavy oily residue is left and you must cleanse again after this. I feel as if the formula needs to be reworked to include more of the emulsifying agent so that it mixed better with water. If you can splurge, Boscia make up break up cleansing oil is still the best I have tried. This is followed closely by Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse. After using so much of this type of cleanser, I have realised that the Asian brands make the best, I prefer to go to sasa dot com and almost anything off there is better (and much cheaper) than the western brands. The packing for this is great, and I suggest you keep if for other oils where the pump is flimsy. I also like the natural oil component of this and the fact that it has a very light natural scent. The texture is very smooth but it is on the runnier side. Overall this is just OK, I would say on the same level as MAC (which is cheaper as well) but one can definitely do better.

Shampoo -Fudge - Dry Shampoo
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 7/18/2010 4:11:00 PM

Do.not.buy.Period. This is like baby powder and not suited for those with other than blonde hair. Apart from this, the texture is unrefined and feels gritty. Klorane, Batiste, Bumble & Bumble....etc are all better than this. The fragrance is unecessary and overpowering. The only good thing I can say about this is that the pump is great in that a lot comes out with just a little pressure, but other than that, the product development team have a lot of work ahead of them. This is like the first cut of a product. Effectiveness is no where near Klorane and requires a lot for the same result. Makes hair dull.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Multi Active Night Cream
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 7/9/2010 9:39:00 PM

I was on the look out for a night cream with anti-ageing properties so decided to give this a go, after all the hype and all around this line. I previously have used the gel-creme before so thought this might be a notch up. This is indeed moisturising but too much for my winter normal skin. It is too greasy and took a long time to sink in, you may have better luck if you are drier but anyone with a hint of oiliness will find this too heavy. I also disliked the fact that it caused pimples on me, I used half the jar without seeing any real visible change except for moisture and I think for that price, I need to see some obvious changes. I have since stopped using this and am now using much cheaper chemist cream with same results. A side note is the fragrance, which is very overpowering, if you use this near you mouth, it will feel like you have sprayed perfume in your mouth, so this was a real turn off. You should try before you buy this one, I just didnt see it do anything and it broke me out due to its heavy texture.

Top/Base Coats -OPI - RapiDry Top Coat
rated 1 of 5
wonderbuy 6/20/2010 8:33:00 PM

This is one of the worst nail products I have ever used. Almost anything else on the market would be better. The issues relate to the following: - It is NOT rapid dry, takes ages to dry - Mucks up the layers underneath and can cause drag - Makes some colors yellow - It is a little too thick for my liking and you need quite a bit - The result is not a hard top but I feel that it makes the end - results too ‘cushy’ and I get dents in the surface very easily. I used this for a while thinking this was OK but only when I tried others, I realise there are much better things out there in relation to top coats.
