Potpourri throughout...not a fan. Some might like it.
Showering with this is truly a heavenly experience, i don't want to wash off the lather of this, it smells sooo nice and it's not too drying to the skin either. I get notes of obviously orange blossom, then honey, and some fruit that reminds me of apples or pomelo, something citrusy and lush. Fabulous, gorgeous, stunning. Lasts very well on the skin. The price however is appalling 30£ for 250 ml of shower gel is outrageous.
Fragrances -Jo Malone - Lotus Blossom & Water Lily

Although i don't like the smell of this on my skin - where i have sprayed it, and this at no stage whatsoever, i still re-tried this over several days, since strangely i do somehow like the wafts of scent that lift off and surround me when i wear this, must be the waterlily or lotus in it. But the scent as a whole is far from being a true love for me since the opening notes (on the skin) are quite unpleasant and artificial/chemical, the drydown reveals something like a sticky cloying dirty amber/musk which i cant stand to wear. I was hoping for a gorgeous waterlily and lotus flower scent, conveying beauty and serenity, but i am not convinced by this.
Fragrances -Andy Tauer - L'Air du Desert Marocain by Andy Tauer

If possible i would give this 1 1/2 lippies..This reminds me a lot of lonestar memories, and my memories of it sadly arnt that good (revulsion, headache, nausea, big unsuccessful scrubbing action, etc.) However, i find l' air du desert marocain better than lonestar memories, albeit neither of these fragrances are for me at all, ever. I cant see, er..smell the association with the desert. This is really like a big whack on the head with a log of incense, tar and rose and mucho too perfumey for my liking, very powerful overwhelmingly dense and heavy, also imo rather more masculine than feminine. There is actually quite a lovely rose in it, however, rose is in general a note i steer clear from in perfumes. I dont like l' air du desert marocain for myself at all, but think it might actually smell gorgeous on a man, that is if applied in a very subtle dosage and please not on my boyfriend, since that would be already too close to me nose!!
after reading some of the comments in here on this scent i was definitely sure that i would not even sample it. i am in general not keen on the bond's and one that gets such a low rating must be even worse than the others. however, on a visit to a perfumery, a friend accidentally grrr..sprayed some of this stuff on to my arm and i had to concur with what some others have already said, its "hairspray and dead flowers".. seriously disgusting!
Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Verite Moisture Relief Cream

I tried this product together with the calming fluid. What i liked about it in the first place, was the very light, seemingly natural scent - lavender- and that it seemed a product free from all these extra 'skin pushing' ingredients. So basically just a moisturising care. I did not have sensitive skin, for which this verite line is, but thought it a more natural product compared with others. However, after a week or so of using this, i noticed that my skin actually got sensitive, and more and more so with continued use of the products, my skin startet to feel very thin and tight and a little burning so that i had to apply something to soothe it, which is not something that i had experienced before i started using the verite stuff. So for me, what this product does is, it CREATES sensitive skin.
Moisturizers -Origins - Organics Nourishing Face Lotion

This smells awful! how anyone could tolerate such an acrid smell in their face i can not imagine, this is overwhelmingly strong and biting clove, something like citronella, maybe thyme and who knows what else, this could be very good though for a holiday in the tropics as it does really smell like bug repellant. Nauseating and headache inducing and not fading away.
Cant stand this, find it overwhelmingly strong and harsh - think its the oakmoss and leather notes as well as the 'heavy dose of tar' which is i think a signature ingredient in A. Tauers perfumes-, this combined with very perfumey notes..yikes, to me this is headache inducing and makes me literally gag.
Gels/Soaps -Origins - Pomegranate Wash Bubbling Body Cleanser
shaktigal 8/25/2008 3:54:00 PM
Showering with this smells like you were ripping open red oranges and squeezing the juice from them, its a mixture of the zestyness of the breaking peel and mouthwatering fruity juice of blood oranges. Since i love citrusy scents for showering this is indeed a veeery good find for me. However, it does not smell of pomegrenade, but i dont mind..
This is a joke..ingredients are organic olive oil, sunflowerseed oil, sesame seed oil and some essential oils as eg lavender. All these ingredients can be bought in a health food store and mixed together by yourself for a fraction of the price. 30 ml of this mixture when put together by Origins and filled in these tiny little glass bottles that have a huge wide opening to grant you spilling of the product costs 42.- swissfrancs!! For that price you can buy 1/2 litre organic olive oil, 1/2 litre organic sunflowerseed oil, 1/2 litre organic sesame seed oil and some organic essential oils for the scent as eg. lavender and produce yourself 1 1/2 litre of this product within 5 minutes, for the same price..

This was a huge choker for me and a stomach turner. YUCK! Sadly no experience of a tropical destination under palmtrees..
Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
shaktigal 8/24/2008 7:15:00 AM
Certainly the product does live up to its name..as dramatically different i did look after applying this for a few times. A huge boil appeared on my chin, which lasted and kept festering for months and which produced a lasting scar. Somewhere i read that the particular yellow colour that is used in this cream is very well known for its comedogenic properties, meaning it is very well known that it produces the by me experienced results, but then Clinique has a whole range of anti-pimple products that need selling as well..i think they should be sued!
This mask is really completely useless. Dont waste your money on this gunk. It has an off-putting, actually disgusting consistency, does not at all purify and the radiant glow it is supposed to give seems to work solely due to the added finely milled reddish, pinkish pigments that will stick to the skin even after the mask has been removed. These pigments seem quite similar to the ones used in illuminating face powders as produced by several brands..
The la mer serum that was first brought on the market by EL was quite different from the newly formulated serum that is now available. I did really like the first serum, it just felt and did good on the skin, although i felt always a bit uneasy about the ingredients on the list that seemed to be derived from animals. The new serum that is now available is not only far less effective, it is also quite a lot more expensive than the one it substitutes. A combination that really, really pissed me off the products for good. I mean is there ever an end to the greediness of the miracle touting EL company? Beware; the dark green bottles hide very well the fact that the bottom of the bottle is about 1 inch thick, hence there is a lot less product in it than you actually presume when you see the bottle.
Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
shaktigal 8/24/2008 4:58:00 AM
This obviously has been a VERY different product when it was originally produced by Max Huber, i guess the original complex manufacturing processes was not compatible with EL's need for mass production and marketability. Where miracles happen...well..the miracles seem to happen mainly for the EL company, which is already immensly rich. The good things about creme de la mer: i never got a pimple because of it, where other creams really caused me breakouts. It is a good protection cream in cold weather as it has a low water and high oil proportion. The not so good things: the main substance in this cream is mineral oil. Mineral oil based creams will cause a thickening of the outer layer of skin, this thickening is actually also a normal happening of the ageing process, however, i dont want to promote that even further by using mineral oil based creams. The ingrediences of creme de la mer that sound so good are the vitamins and algae, but i dont think it is necessary to pay that kind of money to get some vitamines and algae to the skin. If you like algae then try 'Guam, Seaweed and Mud mask'. Its very good, very natural and costs about 25.- Swissfrancs. It is one of the best face masks i have ever tried, very good for all skin types, but maybe not so for the hypersensitive.
