Polishes -Sally Hansen - Maximum Growth Nourishing Nail Colour in Calming Cocoa

When I was shopping for black nailpolish I got this one since it was the closest substitute. One layer of this creates a thin veil of reddish brown. A few more layers give a dark red-brown. I like how this one doesn't chip easily. Plus, I think it does make my nails grow longer.
Lipstick -Christian Dior - Rouge Hydrating Lipstick
satin828 12/27/2005 9:52:00 PM
I have this in Fig, a muted orange-red that looks very natually red on my lips, though a tad bit too dark. The texture is so soft, softest one I have used. But it doesn't last really long on me. I usually wear long-wearing lipsticks so this is something new for me. The packaging is disappointing for Dior; the thin plastic cap looks and feels flimsy.
This is an awesome l'eau de parfume for guys. It's fresh, spicy and sexy. It's unbelievably long-lasting as well.
Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow Mascara Waterproof
satin828 12/25/2005 11:47:00 PM
I bought this after reading the reviews on MUA and InStyle Magazine. This is one of the better mascaras I have tried but it's not my HG mascara. It lenghthens really nicely and curls well too, but it doesn't thicken my lashes that much and I usually apply at least three coats. As for its waterproof ability, it really does not come off with water. I had to use eyemakeup remover. For CAD $29, I expected better results. Otherwise, it's not a bad mascara at all. I heard the non-waterproof version is better though but I wanted to try the waterproof one.
Fragrances -Christian Dior - J'adore summer fragance
satin828 12/22/2005 8:43:00 PM
It's got the same signature J'adore scent that I love so much but this one is very sheer and it also smells more fresh and cool. But I prefer the original J'adore perfume. Even the original bottle is prettier (gold vs. white). However, this fragrance is better than a lot of the other ones out there. Get the original instead though cuz it's longer-lasting and more romantic.
Lotions/ Creams -Christian Dior - J'adore Body Lotion
satin828 12/22/2005 8:36:00 PM
I think this smells better than the perfume J'adore itself. The luxurious lait perfume (body lotion) has a milky consistancy and it's a dream to apply. Plus, the bottle is gorgeous and it has the same crystal cap as the J'adore perfume. So heavenly pretty. The fragrance is also very long-lasting.
This fragrance is nice and romantic but it's reminds me of something grandmas would wear. This scent is floral, which I like, but the mix of florals is too granny-ish for me. It's not fresh enough; it's sweet, too sweet IMO.
The pretty bottle attracted my attention in the store but the fragrance itself isn't anything special. I prefer floral scent and this one seems to be a little fruity as well as floral so I didn't really like it.
As the name implies, the scent is sheer but very romantic. I love floral scents and this one is one of the better ones out there. The bottle is kind of plain though.
This is an awesome hair product for creating the big hair of the 80s. All I did was spraying this product on my pin-straight hair (that never stays in curls or waves usually) and scrunched individual strands, I got super big hair. I had no idea that big hair was possible on me cuz my hair is so straight! Anyway I made a mohawk with this product as well and it stayed throughout the day except after it rained:( oh well. I really like this product. However, it makes hair sticky and stiff like all other hairsprays but the big hair is totally worth it. I am half way through my bottle but plan to repurchase soon.
Treatments -Infusium 23 - leave-in treatment for damaged/unmanageable hair
satin828 11/28/2005 10:43:00 PM
I prefer this one to the one for fine hair. My hair is pretty damaged from too much hair dye, blowdrying and curling/waving/crimping and it is usually frizzy after every wash and this product makes my hair smooth and manageable. Also, I do have to comb through my hair after putting on this product since it's rather sticky but it works well for my hair so I don't mind that.
Hair Color -Garnier - Belle Color Permanent Haircolor
satin828 9/1/2005 6:58:00 PM
I used the lightest blonde colour on my hair as a toner and the colour faded so fast. It claimed to be extra-lightening but it didn't really work that well. Won't repurchase.
Treatments -Biore - Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips
satin828 9/1/2005 6:51:00 PM
I have tried both the regular pore strips and the ultra deep ones and personally I don't see a difference in results. Both remove a few blackheads at a time and in my opinion, the regular ones are better since they don't smell mediciny like the ultra deep ones. So I will continue to purchase the regular ones since I get more strips for the same amount of money that work just as well.
This does a good job at reducing shine but since I have dryish skin it doesn't really matter that much to me. It's not really good for preventing breakouts compared with other drugstore toners that I have used. However, it does make my skin feel very clean and it is also less harsh on my sensitive skin.
Scrubs -Biore - Pore Perfect Pore Unclogging Scrub
satin828 8/31/2005 9:43:00 PM
This scrub is really creamy with tiny beads. I don't really mind the beads since they're so tiny and barely noticeable. This scrub doesn't really do much for my normal to slightly dry skin. It doesn't make my skin feel squeaky clean, in fact, it doesn't. When I use a toner after this, I can still see dirt and oil on my cotton pad of toner. I will not repurchase as it doesn't do much for me.
