Eye Shadow -MAC - Henna (Blonde Brunette Redhead Collection)
loci 1/12/2009 6:31:00 PM
Very beautiful metallic dark olive gold shade with great pigmentation. Glides on smoothly and covers the lids orignal color with ease. Looks perfect on darker skintones but a bit muddy on my asian yellow skin, that's why I end up passing it. If you can wear this you should get 100 Strokes as well (also from BBR collection) because they look wonderful together. Its a bit similar to my Shu Olive 450, you can only see the difference when up close.

Eye Shadow -MAC - 100 Strokes (Frost - Blonde Brunette Redhead Collection)
loci 1/12/2009 6:28:00 PM
Just bought this in the BBR collection. Its a deep burgundy shade with more maroon in it instead of the purple side. Even though its supposed to be a frost, when applied on lid its more like a matte to me. If you layer this on top of another shadow the redness disappeares, but it will create a natural shadow on it. Looks great paird with Henna and Flip (both also from BBR), and good as a liner on its own. When you use this alone you'll see the nice burgun shade of it.
Very similar to Sketch. Click continue to see swatches:

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 191 Square Foundation Paint Brush
loci 1/12/2009 10:45:00 AM
This foundation is not bad, a bit over the average. The finish result is a nice and even layer of foundation with no streaky lines. I do love it until I hit Armani #13 blender brush and later #15 Designer Shaping Foundation Brush. (#15 is the best of all)
191 is good for watery liquidy foundations like Estee Lauder Double Wear.
Its alright but the look of the brush is just like a paint brush...

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #242 Shader Brush

Great for depositing heavy/dark colors on the crease or to apply a liner. In my opinion its easier to use than 239, 239 its a bit too fluffy so not enough color got on my lid, 242 does the job perfectly. Its also goo dfor cream products. I now use it on a daily basis, a stable for me.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner Gel Graphic Brown [DISCONTINUED]
loci 1/12/2009 10:37:00 AM
This is a limited release from MAC. In my opinion they should make it perm because its so beautiful and versatile. Its a neutral brown leaning a bit towards the warm side with a metallic finish. Its dark enough to be a liner for people with big eyes in which black liner will make them look like they're about to kill someone. I absolutely like this, it is great for light/nude makeups.
The texture is creamy too, glides on easily.

Misc Beauty Tools -MAC - Brush Cleanser

It works, but a standard face wash or shampoo can do the same thing. Even though it advertises that you do not need to rinse it after using this, but I really can't stand the sour chemical smell, its even worse with large face brushes when they soak it all up. I actually use my face wash gel to clean my foundation brush first, then use this right after, but nothing comes out. I suppose they are about the same. Price is alright, but the cap sometimes leak.

Makeup Brushes -Giorgio Armani - Designer Shaping Foundation Brush

The King of the foundation brushes, this is the IT brush!
Its good for both liquid and cream foundation products, I've tried more than 20 high end foundations and this works for all (except Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer which is better to applied with fingers). The shape of the bristles is perfect for even application and you get th eright amount on your face. Sometime its not the foundation that's wrong, its the brush :)
The only thing I do not like is the natural smell when I first got it. But after a few washes it went away. I use this everyday and it speeds up my makeup time, I only need 2 min to apply foundations now! YAY!

The one with thicker handle, lighter color of bristles, and less fluffy is #15.

Makeup Brushes -Giorgio Armani - Blender brush

This brush is the old foundation brush from GA, now they come up with a better one called Designer Shaping Foundation Brush which is by all means the king of foundation brush.
The blender brush is not bad in terms of quality, but is a bit too small to be a foundation brush, takes a while to apply but the overall result is pretty good. The finish is leaning towars the thick full coverage unless you're extra careful. But if you need coverage like me, you might like this.
The price is alright, around the same compared to MAC.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Dainty

Nice color in pan, weak in pigmentation. I received this in swap, the shade is lovely in pan, very similar to NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat. I would say the color is more like Deep Throat but it has the golden sheen of Orgasm. However it takes me around 5 times to get the color to show on me, even Orgasm only needs 3 swipes...this makes me decided to let it go. I guess I'm too used to NARS' heavy pigmentation blushes.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #129 SH Short Handled Powder/Blush Brush

The bristle for this brush is exactly the same as MAC 150: harsh wool. It feels bad on the face and it scratches. I really hate this type of hair, would prefer synthetic brush if the quality is like this. On the other hand, it does pick up powders and deposits it nicely, so if you can stand the harsh wool, than its alright. The price is a bit too high for this quality though.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #150 Large Powder Brush

Probably the worst brush from MAC. A good powder brush should makes you feel like in heaven, but this brush's bristle is so harsh on skin that I absolutely hates it. Its like poor quality wool clothing that it scratches your face and makes it feel ichy. The only good thing is that it does picks up products even if its really hard pressed. The price is way too high for this type of quality, I suggest you add a few bucks to get 134 or 136.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 181 small buffer brush
loci 1/11/2009 10:22:00 PM
Cute and adorable little brush! I carry it in my purse inside a small pouch which I used to put my contact lenses' case. The size is great for outside touchups, either blot powders, foundation powders, or blush. I find it really nice to get into the nose area in which 182 is too big. (you usually touch up the nose area anyways xD) This is very good at buffing the powder. One thing I do not like is the chemical smell it has when I first purchased it, but it goes away after a few washes. Sheds a little but reasonable. I really hope it can come with a pouch instead of this plastic round tube it comes with. Limited addition so get it when you can.

Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Lip Care Stick - Cocoa Butter

On my third tube already, and already stock up 4 more during their recent sale :) I use this all the time, before lipstick, before bedtime, or just anytime I need lip moisture. The scent is great and yummy, and the texture is not overly waxy or minty, its just right with lipstick on top or just by itself. The price is reasonable too...better than buying 3 drugstore brand and found out either their fomulation sucks or the tube breaks or the lipstick can not scroll back in. Will definitely repurchase, in fact I already did so many time!

This product is not bad as long as you can endure through the first 2 monthes. It will irritates your skin, makes it look red, break out more, and it hurts and ichy. But then after this stage it will work...I did not go though it though, but my friend did and he continues to use it and it does work for him. I'm now on 15% AHA lotion/gel plus Differin now, it works better for me and not as irritating, but they need perscription to get in North America.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 226 Small Tapered Blending Brush - BBR Collection
loci 1/11/2009 9:47:00 PM
This brush works wonders! Its like 219, 217, 224, 239 and 222 in one brush!
The pointy head is firm enough to depot strong/heavy colors on tp of lash line (however not enough to smudge the liner though, that's when 214 comes in handy). The whold bristle can use to blend colors just like 217/239, and its also seamless like 224 but easier to control. Shame this is limited, everyone should go get one especially when the price is not bad, just below $30 for a brush is reasonable.
I'm even thinking of getting another one of these.
