Hair -Phyto - Phytocyane shampoo
lillian1717 6/9/2007 8:59:00 PM
I was convinced by a friend that despite it labeled for thinning hair, it was a great volumizing shampoo. So I dished out the $22, and gave it a try. It's an amazing volumizing shampoo! I use a teeny amount with my normal moisturizing conditioner and it is absolutely amazing. My hair stayed thick, fluffy and moisturized even the next morning after sleeping on it! I would definitely give this a try if you are in the market for a good volumizing shampoo. Downsides: runny consistency that could end up in wasting product, screw top cap, and pricey.

Shampoo -Victoria's Secret - So Sexy Volumizing Shampoo
lillian1717 6/9/2007 8:40:00 PM
The smell is definitely strong, so if you don't like the perfume scent, this would not be the shampoo for you! I read all the reviews for the "so sexy" line here and decided to give the "volumizing" line a try since it's on sale for 3/$21 right now. It's a decent shampoo, but I really didn't notice a difference or result in terms of the volume part. In fact, it left my hair looking a little blah and didn't moisturize very well. My already dryish ends looked pretty frizzy as well. For the price, I think it's really just a shampoo that leaves a long lasting perfume scent, but nothing spectacular.

Conditioner -Victoria's Secret - so sexy volumizing conditioner
lillian1717 6/9/2007 8:38:00 PM
I read a bunch of reviews on MUA that the So Sexy line was really good, however, I think that was not for the volumizing part of the hair care line. I've been buying up volumizing hair products like crazy recently, and decided to give this one a try. It's is slowly turning out to make my hair dryer than anything else i've used! My hair is always a little on the dryer side because of highlights and blow drying, but everytime I use this conditioner, the ends are dry and frizzy. And after all that, it's not even that volumizing! Will continue to look for something else that is moisturizing but gives volume too...

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm
lillian1717 5/31/2007 1:45:00 PM
This is the perfect summer gloss! I have asian skin and dark brown/black hair, and this gloss shows up as a really pretty peachy nude for me. I initially bought it when the makeup artist put it over a brighter lipstick for a bolder look, but I love this all on it's own. It can be a little bit thick/sticky though...but will definitely buy again if i use the entire tube this summer!

Deodorants -Dove - Dove deodorant/antipersperant original scent
lillian1717 5/15/2007 4:18:00 PM
It's not the best, but not the worst. Smells nice and goes on easy, but regardless of what it says, you will still have white marks on your clothes. In addition, it's pretty much uselss for me as an anti-perspirant. But it's cheap, has decent scents, and barely put a swipe on in the mornings because I'm using Clinical Strength at nights now...

Deodorants -Secret - Clinical Strength
lillian1717 5/15/2007 4:15:00 PM
Wanted to try this because of the serious irritation I get whenever I use Certain Dri - and while it doesn't completely stop sweating every single day, it's really very good. Maybe on a really hot day will it be a bit damp.... but seriously, for not having something like a rash break out with severe itching from Certain Dri, this stuff is awesome! Took one lippie off because of the white stains you get on your pj's..but at least it's only what you wear at night! Can also cause some minor irritation, but nothing major.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Abyssine cream
lillian1717 5/15/2007 4:03:00 PM
Have bought this numerous times now, and yes, it can make your skin a little greasy especially if you have oily prone skin. But I have issues with keeping my skin smooth and not itchy, since i have dry skin from the prescription treatments that I use for rosacea, but then my skin is also oily in areas too. So I deal with a little bit of shine, so that my skin does NOT break out into red patches. This is one of the ONLY creams that I have consistently used for my face that has not turned it red or made it break out in irritation! Get some blotting tissues, and you'll be fine!

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Einstein Lip Theory Cooling Relief

Not the absolute best (Carmex, for overnight) but also better than a LOT of lip balms out there. I found that if you just slap it on over your chapped lips, it doesn't really do anything. But the sales person at the Barneys counter told me that if you take the time to really rub/massage it in, your lips really will be incredibly soft! Great consistency, not sticky or gooey either.

Lotions/ Creams -Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion
lillian1717 4/13/2007 4:18:00 PM
I remember trying this a long time ago, and not liking it. Now I can't believe I wasted so much money on other lotions! I've been using Kiehls Creme de Corps lotion for the past couple of years, but the price and greasiness has finally started getting to me. I can't tell you how great this lotion is! At first I thought it wasn't doing much because of how fast it gets absorbed into your skin, but after the whole day, I'm surprised at how soft my skin stays! For the price, I think it's well worth it to try for yourself...considering how much other body creams, butters and lotions cost.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Milbon - Crede ER Hair Treatment

This review is on behalf of myself an also a good friend - both of us had really damaged hair from continuous straightening, perming, then straightening, and highlighting. This was recommended to us by our hair dresser, but only my friend bought it. A few weeks later, I noticed that her hair was shiny, and her ends were healthy practically over night! She said that she had been using the treatment about twice a week in place of normal hair conditioner, and just left it on for a few minutes each time. I immediately went out and bought a tub of it myself. Miraculously, my hair is back to being soft, silky and shiny as it was before all the highlighting and frying I did to my hair after a few weeks. It's a little pricey, but very well worth it! A large 24 oz. tub (which has lasted me a year now) will cost about $60. Plus, the fact that you don't have to wrap it up, apply heat, and stand around for 20 minutes is just amazing!

Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Liner Shadows
lillian1717 1/19/2007 5:14:00 PM
Saw the great reviews and decided to try them out - but these are terrible! I tried everything the previous postings said: used a great brush, added the tiniest drop of eye drops to apply them wet, but they STILL got over my face and the floor. You don't even realize that you have speckles of the powder on your face sometimes until you leave the door, look in the mirror and realize that you have small smudge lines across your cheek bones and nose. Applied them both wet and dry, but it's just too much work for an eyeliner. Dry - they just go EVERYWHERE; Wet - you get a nice dark line, but the minute you add eyeshadow, the line cracks all over the place. These were returned, and I'm sticking to my gel/cream liners instead....

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
lillian1717 1/4/2007 12:07:00 PM
I typically never wear blush or bronzer because i always felt as though it looked really fake, and then i was convinced by the MA at the nars counter to give it a whirl, and it is absolutely amazing! I can't imagine ever going out now without wearing this bronzer! I have pretty fair asian skin and it looks like the perfect tan all year round. At night I brush it with my bobbi brown face/body brush around the cheeks, forehead and the tip of my chin - and pictures come out great, as though I've got a sun-kissed glow. Definitely recommended!

Skincare - Face -Fresh - Rice Face Cream
lillian1717 6/26/2006 4:42:00 PM
One of the most expensive face lotions I have tried, and while it is supposed to be really rich and moisturizing, my skin ended up being even more dry than when I had started out with it! I tried using more which just left a greasy film on top of dry skin instead. You have to sort of warm up the lotion a bit to get to to smooth out, otherwise you find yourself continuously digging into the jar (and probably leaving bacteria too). Definitely not recommended, and would not purchase again, especially at the price.
