Moisturizers -Merlot - Moonlight Radiance Natural Grape Seed Night Cream
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/20/2010 7:06:00 AM

This is a great moisturizer I would say both for evening and for the day. It is lightweight and it has a pleasant grape-y scent that fades quickly. It sinks into the skin fast and I feel that it moisturizes adqeuately. I have oily skin so it is just the right amount of moisture. I'm not sure if someone with dry skin would like the amount of moisture this provides. You really don't need too much product. Just a few small dabs on the face go a long way. It comes in a nice, big tub. I do wish it was a pump or squeeze bottle, but it's not a big deal. It's an average moisturizer for a good price from the drugstore. I'd purchase this one again over the Olay moisturizer though.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum Express Mascara
rated 2 of 5
leoisillon 12/20/2010 6:53:00 AM

This mascara wasn't for me. It has a nice, traditional brush and it makes my lashes look volumonous and natural looking. I'm super confused about this product though. I purchased the dark blue one that says it's waterproof, but when I looked here and on the website it says the dark blue is the regular version. I'm not sure, but it sure did act like a waterproof mascara. It was a bit difficult to take off. I had to use a ton of eye makeup solution. Also, this stuff clumps really easily. I basically hate most waterproof mascaras so that's a big reason I didn't like this. The other reason was because it was a bit dry and it clumps really easily. I had to stop using. I really hate when my mascara is fussy and difficult to work with. I think it lived up to the claims on the package but because I had a hard time taking off I won't ever buy again. I had to trash this. NEXT...

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Nutritioniste Skin Renew Daily Anti-Fatigue Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/17/2010 7:06:00 AM

I just finished this product. It is not a bad eye cream at all from the drugstore. It's very simple, it moisturizes & that's about it. It does sink into the skin rather quickly, which I like (especailly in the mornings before I put on my makeup). It's nothing spectacular and I would say that I didn't notice any changes to the skin under my eyes after using it. It didn't make me look less tired, it didn't reduce puffiness or get rid of dark circles. I wasn't really expecting it to do that, but I was drawn to it because the packaging says "anti-fatigue". My eyes always have had dark under eye circles (genetics) and the occassional puffiness/bags (due to lack of sleep and stress). So, I'd say purchase it if you are looking for a simple, inexpensive under eye cream, but don't expect miracles. I think I'd repurchase only if it was on sale.

Eyeliner -Prestige - E-24 Black-Brown
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/15/2010 5:56:00 PM

I really love the darkness of this brown. I hate to wear stark black liner during the day, but for evenings I'll put it on. This is the pefect color for day wear. I love how the liner is creamy but not too creamy to where it's prone to smudging. I don't even have to set this liner with a powder. It stays in place on the top lid, but in the water line it will wear with time. I'm not too keen on pencil liners because I feel that they don't last me long, but that's not Prestige's fault. I wouldn't purchase again for that reason but it's a great buy regardless. I wish they made this in their retractable waterproof line.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Lightweight UV Lotion SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
leoisillon 12/7/2010 1:39:00 PM

This is a fabulous moisturizer from the drugstore. It's perfect for people with oily or combination skin. This goes on very light and dries quickly. It has a light cucumber scent that fades quickly. I like that it does't break me out. It has SPF and you get a generous amount for the price. It also enjoy the pump. It may not be good for those with dry skin. It probably won't be moisturizing enough. I would definitely repurchase this product.

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - translucent loose powder
rated 5 of 5
leoisillon 12/5/2010 10:27:00 AM

I have not purchased a full size of this product so I can't comment on the packaging. I have a trial sized and I LOVE this powder better than any other loose setting powder that I have tried and I have tried MANY!! This is so finely milled, it goes on like a dream and blends well. You don't need much at all. It lasts me until about mid day and then I touch up. I have oily skin so that's normal. This is a fabulous find and I would purchase the full sized version.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Holiday 2010 LE Night Elf eyeshadow palette
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/5/2010 10:06:00 AM

Wow!!!!!! I'm very happy that I decided to purchase this LE palette after all. I kept seeing it at my local grocery store and was on the fence about it for the longest time. The reason I decided to purchase it is because it's the most unique of all the WW color icon palettes out so far (even the regular collection). I swatched all the colors and they are so creamy (except the black glitter). All of them have some sparkles to them, none are matte. The red color is really nice, but not as pigmented as the rest of the colors. You'll probably have to use a base for the red. The only color I probably won't wear much is the black glitter color. It has chunky glitter that will probably end up all over my face. The eyeliner it came with is okay but it has sparkles so I'm not too keen on it. This is a fabulous find for such a low price. Great for doing a festive look for an evening out. The only reason I wouldn't purchase again is because it's LE and because these colors will last me a long time.

Powder -L'Oreal - True Match Minerals
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/4/2010 11:52:00 AM

I THINK this is breaking me out. I will report back later to let you know for sure. I am recovering right now from another L'Oreal product (Go 360 face wash) so as soon as my face clears up I'll try this out again to see if it does (my poor face!). Anyway I kept hearing raves about this from some of my favorite Youtube gurus so I thought I'd give it a whirl even though I still have plenty of the mineral Revlon foundation left. The packaging is about as stupid as the Revlon mineral foundation but this one is ever so SLIGHTLY better in that the brush is actually on the outside of the sifter and it is better quality (but not by much). I didn't bother with it though, I depotted it straightaway and put into a real sifter that I bought from Sephora. I really don't get why drugstore brands feel the need to make silly packaging with extras like brushes when they can just make a regular sifter and include no brush. Honestly, when has the brush that comes with the packaging ever been useful? I think it's so they can feel justified when charging a few dollars more. So a $10 product becomes a $12-$14 product just because they added a brush. Really, L'Oreal? Who do u think you're playing? Lol... ANYWAY... I've only used this a few times so I can't do a full review yet, but I'll give my first impressions. Pros: *unscented (I don't smell anything unlike the Revlon one) *SPF factor *nice color selection *generous amount *blends well *light/medium coverage Cons: *inconvienient packaging *pricey for drugstore *possibly causes acne To me the Revlon version provided more coverage and blended better. The first couple of times I used this I noticed strange, small pimples creep up on my cheeks. I don't know if it came from this product, but I stopped using and will try again to be sure. Edit: Recently I tried this again and noticed breakouts. Unfortunately I can't use this product. I was starting to like the way it looked, but after a few days I noticed pimples. ;o( Can't buy again.

Powder -Revlon - ColorStay Mineral Foundation
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/4/2010 11:16:00 AM

I wish there was a "maybe" option for the "would you purchase again?" question. I'm on the fence about that. I HATE the packaging. I didn't even bother with the joke of a brush and sifter it came with. I "depotted" and put into an old sifter container that I had from another brand. I really like this foundation in terms of the coverage. I like a light/medium coverage and that is exactly what this provides. I would say you can build it up, but be careful and make sure to blend really well. You don't want to look powdery or cake-y. It has a very light, strange scent. It wears off with time, but it's kind of noticable and some may not like it. I feel like the powder is finely milled and I like that it has SPF. I don't remember what color I chose since I depotted it, but they have a nice color selection for drugstore. This was my first mineral foundation and I like it better than the L'Oreal one, but I would like to try other stuff out there.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous in Carbon Black
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/1/2010 1:49:00 PM

I tried the regular version of this and HATED it. This was slightly better. It does provide great volume and it is "carbon black" but the formula is too wet and it's really fussy to work with. I prefer a more dry mascara. This takes forever to dry and when I take it off I get racoon eyes. Not for me. Edit: I finally had to trash this.. I'm sorry I don't have time to wait for this mascara to get better with time. That's what people on Youtube say about it. With time it dries out and becomes easier to use. Try making it good in the first place and we won't have any waiting. It smudges like a mother and it's very hard to take off. Me no likey.

Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 11/20/2010 8:00:00 AM

This is a great, natural, matte bronzer that is inexpensive and easy to use. I just wish they made it a shade darker because I already have tan skin so it hardly shows up. It's still a great buy though!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara in Black
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 11/15/2010 1:53:00 PM

Wow, this is a very interesting product. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like this product. I ran out of my EL lash primer and because I'm strapped for cash right now I figured this primer would be a good alternative. Why don't they come out with a drugstore primer only? I have seen many double wanded mascaras at the drug store but no primer alone. Anywho, I tried the product not really expecting much but was blown away with how well this works. Both the primer and the mascara work well and they make my lashes look long and full of volume. The primer is very white and you have to use a light hand to only apply a small amount, but the mascara does a great job of covering it up. The most intriguing thing for me about this mascara is the way it comes off. The packaging says you can just use water tor rinse it off, but being the skeptic that I am, I figured that was a lie. It truly comes off with just water!!! This formula is unlike anything I've ever seen for a mascara. It's not like an inky substance that runs when mixed with water. It's almost like a rubber or some sort of silica product. Very cool, just glides right off. The claims on the back of the package were going on about the mascara acting like "tubes" that make the lashes look longer, etc. I kept thinking "tubes, what?". Try this mascara and see for yourself. It doesn't run or smudge. It's amazing. Will definitely repurchase. The only small complaint I have is about the size of the brushes. I feel like they are little stubs. I wish they were longer or something. It takes some getting used to. The actual head of the brush is fine. It's nice and full on the mascara side and long and exact for the primer side. Edit: I still like this product, the only thing I don't like is the primer. It's a bit too heavy. It weighs down my lashes. So now I just use the mascara side by itself or I pair it with my Clinique lash primer. I probably wouldn't repurchase because while it is convienient to only use water to take off this macara, I find that it takes a while to make sure it's all off. I'll try the other version with the serum.

Mascara -Neutrogena - Full Volume Mascara

am super bummed that they don't sell this anymore. It used to be my favorite from the drugstore. Had to replace with Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express (which I love, but not as much as i loved this). ;o(

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Satin Eye Shadow Single in Nude Slip
rated 5 of 5
leoisillon 11/13/2010 7:27:00 AM

I abosolutely love this eye shadow. You get a generous amount for the price. I sweep it all over my lids for a natural look for work. You can also use it with a darker crease color and it looks so classy. It's creamy, shimmery, not glittery and it's actually pigmented (unlike some of the others from this line). The color is a gorgeous nude color with a hint of rosey brown. It truly makes me think of nylons. You know how they have a sheen to them but they are a wonderful skin-tone color? I purchased a back up of this and I am off to Dollar Tree to see if they have this shade. I heard from a few people that Dollar Tree is carrying these now (hope they don't discontinue this!)

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Glo Illuminating Powder - Starlight Bronze
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 11/10/2010 11:22:00 PM

This a gorgeous bronze colored blush. It's very pigmented and looks great on medium skin. I would advise you to use a light hand if you want to use as a blush (has lots of shimmer) or just use as a highlighter. I like to use this in the summer. It's a wonderful product for a great price. I'd repurcahse, but probably won't have to for a long time since I use so sparingly.
