Moisturizers -Payot - Fluide Matifiant
icarle 12/13/2010 10:14:00 AM
Payot is a great brand loved by European women. I was happy with it when I was a teen. Still am BUT the fluide matifiant is not moisturizing enough for me now. I guess I need a stronger day cream. I am only 27 but somehow it's not the right option for me anymore. Or maybe it will be good for summer. Fall and winter, forget it!

Styling Products -Alberto Vo5 - rework Fibre Putty
icarle 12/6/2010 6:32:00 AM
I thought I could find a fibre paste without spending salon $$. I was wrong. I ended up buying KMS and am very happy about it. This product is very sticky, you cannot rework your hair, and if you put too much it flakes. Crappy!!!

Fragrances -Bulgari - Jasmin Noir
icarle 11/25/2010 9:37:00 AM
To me, there is only one way to buy a perfume: you fall in love with it. I had many crushes over the years...But with Jasmin Noir, it was love at first sight. I tried it in a store, and I was hooked. It is very powerful and rich, yet feminine and subtle. I LOVE how it ages throughout the day and on fabrics. I think our love story is going to last a while. Though I only bought a 50ml bottle because I am such a serial perfume consumer I don't want to waste!!

Polishes -Sally Hansen - insta-dri petal pusher
icarle 11/25/2010 9:21:00 AM
Great shade, dries instantly and the brush is square and easy to use. I love it. Only con: 8$ for a sally hansen nail polish is a bit expensive....Would have paid 4 or 5....But since its an everyday polish/shade, it's worth it.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
icarle 11/25/2010 9:17:00 AM
It's a great emergency moisturizer. I never liked the texture so I use it once in a while when my skin is really dehydrated. French girls/women love it, because it's a classic, the formula hasn't changed and it's cheap. I always keep one jar in the house, but it,s not for everyday...

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lemon Juice
icarle 11/22/2010 1:55:00 PM
I have a few breakouts from time to time and lemon juice does help, but it's sooooo drying that I'm kind of afraid to use it, even diluted in water. It's a natural astringent, but you need to heavily moisturize everytime you use it (which I would not recommend more than 2x a week...)

Powder -Almay - Clear Complexion Powder Makeup
icarle 11/22/2010 1:48:00 PM
I read the reviews AFTER buying, which I dont normally do. However after a few days of using the powder, I can safely say that I love it! The coverage is just what I need: light yet it covers large pores and minor imperfections. I could not believe my mirror: after 4 hours, only very little shine, usually I need to use blotting paper and setting powder every two hours.... I don't breakout very often but since my skin is oily I like the salicylic acid in it. The choice of color is not that great but since I found mine i can't complain. Medium gives me a slight tan, does not look orange or fake, I am in love with it! I threw away the pad though. It felt like a very cheap loofah. I use it with a big round brush in circular motions. I LOVE that powder.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - HairDo Wrap-around Pony
icarle 8/12/2010 9:54:00 AM
Great great hair extension, easy to use, very natural, stylable with heat... The price is a little high compared to what you can find on ebay for example, but the quality is truly awesome. The only problem is that you can easily choose the wrong color.....I am a light golden blonde and on the internet I was 100% SURE that golden wheat R14-88H would match. It didn't. So I had to return it. The advice they give you is to pay 30$ for the color sample thingy...........hum, not sure I wanna pay for that, that would bring us to a total of 49$ for the ponytail, 20$ shipping to Canada AND a 30$ color sample???? Nope. But, the hair is great.....

Shampoo -Dove - Damage Therapy - Color Repair
icarle 7/29/2010 9:04:00 AM
It's a good shampoo. It really helps keep the color and moisture. I've used more expensive shampoos (biosilk, Redken, Kerastase) with the same results. So I guess that's good news!!!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Fusion
icarle 7/29/2010 8:50:00 AM
It's a good mascara for volume and length. But it takes some work: you have to build volume with 2-3 coats. But after 4-5 uses it does work fine. Not mind-blowing, but good.

Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash The Max in Extreme Black 003
icarle 7/16/2010 1:10:00 PM
Erf, it's not very good. It does not give volume...It just coats the lashes with product....I guess if you like very discreet makeup you might like it. If you're the type of gal that don't want to look like they have any make up on. It also does not separate the lashs very well which - if you wanna have a natural look- is a problem. Spider-like lashes are not pretty. So anyway.....I won't buy again, and to be honest, it will probably end up in the trash can.

Lotions/ Creams -La Roche Posay - Lipikar Balm
icarle 6/1/2010 4:45:00 PM
I use it for my 16 months-old daughter (she's like me, prone to dry skin and ezcema) and it works wonder. I took off a lippie because it is very greasy on the skin and although I don't mind, children often do. I wish there was a "lighter" version for babies..... But more importantly, the result. Great balm.

Concealers -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers Concealer
icarle 6/1/2010 4:34:00 PM
Never liked that one. Very cakey, choice of color is so-so, I HATED the packaging, it's very messy and not hygienic at all. I don't recommand it...

Concealers -Mary Kay - concealer
icarle 6/1/2010 4:29:00 PM
This is HG for me. It gives great coverage that lasts all-day long. I even used it on stage (my profession). The only thing is that for some people it's too much. First you have to use very little product, and even then, for some it will be too much. If you don't have dark circles and is just looking for an even complexion, then buy elsewhere. If you're the busy/tired type, then go ahead with no hesitation. The price is good compared to high-end brands.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Aqua Allegoria Figue-Iris
icarle 6/1/2010 4:24:00 PM
I am a big fan of Guerlain (and not because I'm french. Although I am.) The Aqua Allegoria line is GREAT, especially for summer or for people who don't like strong fragrances. I wear Jardin de Bagatelle, l'Heure Bleue, Vol de nuit, L'instant, Figue et Iris et Herba Fresca. Figue et Iris is the greatest by far. It is very light yet strong and sexy. I love how it ages on the skin. The sad part is that it's gonna be discontinued in Canada. So I bought three of them. I'm set. I love love love it.
