Lotions/ Creams -Lac Hydrin - Lac Hydrin 12 Cream
rated 1 of 5

The dermatologist prescribed this for the folliculitis on my legs (irritated, inflamed hair follicles.) Unfortunately this did not work for me. It didn't help the bumps at all and left an ashy residue.

Mascara -Bourjois - Coup de Theatre False Lash Illusion - Duo Mascara
rated 4 of 5

This is my "going out" mascara. I don't want extremely long, dramatic lashes like this every day and the two step process is a hassle. However, this mascara totally lengthened my lashes, they looked as long as false eyelashes just not as thick. The fibers do tend to clump and flake after a while, so like I said, this isn't an every-day item for me.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
rated 5 of 5

I have to agree, if I were stuck on a deserted island I would take along this ointment too! My dermatologist recommended this to me a few years ago when I was on Accutane and suffering from severly chapped lips. This stuff is like Neosporin but 1000x better. I use this on my lips, legs after shaving, on scabby blemishes (ew) and the next day everything is nearly healed. It is a little expensive for the size tube it comes in, but soooo worth the money. I'll never be without it.

Skincare - Face -Aubrey Organics - Oil Balancing Moisturizer
rated 3 of 5

This isn't a bad moisturizer for oily skin. It does seem to control oil a little, but when I put it on it isn't that moisturizing so I wonder what the goal of this product is. I'd consider buying it again because it doesn't break out my sensitive skin and it has a somewhat pleasant scent.

Lipstick -Mary Kay - Lipsticks
rated 1 of 5

These are the nastiest smelling and tasting lipsticks ever! The color seems to last a good long time but that's not enough to make me want to buy another of these- ever.

Styling Products -Giovanni - Frizz Be Gone
rated 5 of 5

After trying numerous hair serums trying to find one that will smooth out my wild, curly locks - I've finally found it! This is a very slick oil (they call it "texturizing balm" but it's an oil) that's made with organic ingredients. When I apply a half dollar sized amount to my dripping wet hair and let it air dry, VIOLA! My hair is actually smooth and shiny. I've tried similar products but none have worked as well as this. At about $6 if you have frizzy hair you should try this one out. The smell isn't as fabulous as other hair oils, but it smells okay. The best thing is, usually the hair oils break me out around my hairline and this one doesn't seem to.

Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
rated 4 of 5
grnfaerie 9/4/2002 2:03:00 AM

I prefer Club Monaco's sheer lipcolor a little more over this, but I really, really like Clinique's sleek silver tube. The color is so much easier to control in the smaller size. Black Honey has a bit too much orange undertones for my skincolor but I'd buy this again in another shade.

Lipstick -Club Monaco Beauty - Sheer Lipstick in Glaze
rated 5 of 5

I'm really picky about lipsticks and hardly ever use up a whole tube, so it's weird to me that I'm scraping out the last bit of color from this tube! I really like this lipstick, it goes on your lips smoothly and is very sheer but you can layer it if you want a more intense color. I like this better than Clinique's Almost Lipstick because it has no waxy taste or smell at all.

Eye Primer -Clinique - Touch Base For Eyes
rated 2 of 5
grnfaerie 9/4/2002 1:29:00 AM

At the urging of the Clinique counter girl I purchased this in Canvas. I don't know if it's dried out or it normally goes on so thick and cakey? I have a hard time blending this. Also, my eyeshadow doesn't always cover up the color of the eyeshadow base. It does seem to make eyeshadow last a bit longer without creasing or fading, but I think if you have a good eyeshadow in the first place you would not need to wear this too.

Eyes -The Body Shop - Eyebrow Makeup
rated 5 of 5
grnfaerie 9/4/2002 12:16:00 AM

This is a staple for me, one of the only products I buy again and again. I know eyebrow makeup seems a bit unnecessary- and I thought so too until I used this to fill in my eyebrows and WOW it really makes a difference! It looks natural too (if you get the right color.) My only gripe is the small folding brush has broken on me a few times. Otherwise I love this! Much better than an eyebrow pencil.

Treatments (Eye) -Mary Kay - Indulge Soothing Eye Mask
rated 1 of 5
grnfaerie 8/31/2002 11:27:00 AM

I received this as a gift and I'm so glad I didn't spend any money on it. The packaging is nice, a heavy glass jar with a gold lid. The product inside, however, didn't do anything. I mean that literally. I applied the bluish/greenish gel to my eyes waiting for the "soothing" to begin and nothing ever happened. No tingling, no tightening of the bags under my eyes, no diminishing of my dark circles. What is this supposed to do? What's more, my contact-wearing eyes are a bit sensitive and I accidently got a bit in one of them and it burned. If I could give this product less than one lipstick I would!

Moisturizers -Mary Kay - Velocity Lightweight Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
grnfaerie 8/31/2002 11:10:00 AM

This is a nice light moisturizer that didn't break out my sensitive, acne-prone skin. By mid-day however my oily skin was even more oily, so if you have oily skin probably a pea-sized amount will suffice unless you want a shiny face by lunch.

Cleansers -Mary Kay - Velocity Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
grnfaerie 8/31/2002 11:07:00 AM

I have sensitive, acne prone skin and was leery to try this because of the scent of the cleanser. It smells nice, but I don't like scented cleansers and my skin usually reacts to them. I was pleasantly surprised by this cleanser. It seemed to take off all my makeup and rinsed off well. What's more, it didn't make me break out. It didn't improve my skin either though so I'm only giving it a four. This is a nice mild cleanser.

Cleansers -Aubrey Organics - Natural and Herbal Facial Cleanser
rated 2 of 5
grnfaerie 8/31/2002 10:57:00 AM

My search for the best cleanser for my sensitive, acne-prone skin led me down the natural skin care aisle to Aubrey organics. I purchased this cleanser and the toner and moisturizer that go with it. I liked the tingly feeling from this minty smelling cleanser, but I felt like it left a residue behind. After using this for about four days I threw it away because it made me break out. The search continues!

Lip Treatments -Dirty Girl - Citron Bomb Lip Balm
rated 2 of 5
grnfaerie 8/31/2002 10:22:00 AM

Several moments after applying this lip balm I noticed a slight stinging sensation that lasted for about five minutes. I had a friend try this and she said it stung her lips too. The balm is an average lip moisturizer, but I can't see how anyone would want their lips to sting like this. I wouldn't buy this again.
