Bronzers -Rimmel - Sun Shimmer Bronzing Compact Powder (ALL)

I have this in 'light matte', which is a great, natural colour - not at all orangey. However, the powder is not very finely milled and the staying power is quite poor. I prefer Clinique True Bronze in Sunkissed or MAC in Golden. Still, it's by far the best budget bronzing powder I've tried.

Lip Gloss -Pout - Lip Gloss

Some nice shades, but goes on gloopy and feels tacky/sticky. Generally, I do not like the feeling of these on my lips at all. Also they have no interesting scent/flavour. For a sheer lipgloss, I much prefer Lancome Juicy Tubes.

This is a great nude shade very like Lancome's Juicy Tube in 'melon'. However, compared with JTs, I find this lipgloss very sticky indeed - I generally don't like the feeling of this on my lips at all. I'll stick with my fantastic (and flavoursome!) JT melon.

Treatments -Dermalogica - Day Bright SPF15

This is simply too pink and pearlescent; not nearly subtle enough and in no way natural looking (for reference, I have a NW20 skintone). Also the citrus scent, although pleasant, is a little strong. You can buy much cheaper versions of this, e.g. Boots Time Delay Repair Radiance Balm. A disapointment from Dermaologica, since I love most of their other products.

Treatments (Eye) -Simple - Regeneration Defending Eye Cream

An excellent eye cream for daytime use. I find the light, fluid consistency absorbs so well and so quickly into skin! However, I find I need a slightly richer cream at night (so I use Benefit Eyecon which also works on dark circles). N.B. This may not be moisturising enough for people with more mature or dry skin.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Eyeliner Brush
rated 4 of 5

An eyeliner brush with a nice fine tip, ideal for thin, precise lining. The bristles are just right - not too soft, not too firm. However, like other reviewers, I also have issues with the handle.

I found the bristles on this abit too soft and flimsy. I passed it on and got a MAC one which I much prefer. Quite good value for money though.

I use this as an eyelid primer - it perfectly neutralises any reddish discoloration on my eyelids.

A good moisturiser, and the gorgeous geranium fragrance makes this product a pleasure to use.

This is marketed as being suitable 'for all skin types', but unfortunately it does not suit my combination skin, and I beleive it has contributed to break outs on my t-zone and chin. Having said that, it is a pleasure to use, and would probably be an ideal cleanser for those with drier skin types that are not acne prone.

Moisturizers -Olay - Complete with SPF 15 Lotion
rated 2 of 5
gforce7 1/14/2007 4:55:00 PM

I tried this a couple of times, and it may be a good moisturiser, but unfortunately I can't use it as the scent is so over-powering - it made my eyes sting/water and gave me a headache. Why do Olay insist on spoiling so many of their moisturisers by adding too much frragrance?!

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Sheer Tint Moisturiser SPF 15
rated 5 of 5

This is what I call a 'true' tinted moisturiser. By that I mean it is not like many TMs that are actually more like light or medium coverage foundation, and which can look cakey. This gives a subtle, sheer wash of colour which gives my complexion a nice healthy glow (I have this in shade 'light'). Another winner from Dermalogica.

Self Tanners -Dove - Summer Glow
rated 2 of 5
gforce7 1/13/2007 12:35:00 PM

One of the worse 'moisturiser with self tan' products I've tried. The consistency is too thick to give an even tan - it turns out a yellowy and very patchy on me. Garnier Summer Body is the best one I've tried so far.

Self Tanners -Garnier - Bodysummer
rated 5 of 5

By far the best of the many 'moisturiser with self tan' products I've tried! (and I've tried quite a few). It's the most natural in colour - not yellowy or orangey. It's not as thick in consistency as many others, which I prefer as it seems to absorb into skin more quickly and produces an even tan that isn't patchy or streaky. The amount of self tan in this product is just right - not too little, not too much. And the smell is quite nice too. Full marks.
