Another excellent scrub from the PS line. I would compare this to Estee Lauder's "Idealist Micro D" w/out the expense, the hype OR the fragrance.

I used to really hate this product, thinking it was making my break out. However, I have learned in time the best way to use it for me: Apply 1 pump to freshly washed skin and then let it dry-at least a couple minutes, then apply your SPF or night cream. I honestly cannot live w/out this product. I can tell a difference when I don't use it, and you wouldn't think it would matter, considering it is UNDER your moisturizer, but believe me, it makes a big difference. I also love the fact that it is not fragranced!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Mariah Carey - 'M'

I was really looking forward to trying this perfume, as I am a big Mariah fan, but also the notes in the perfume sounded wonderful. Well, I am a bit perplexed. It starts off beautiful, almost a caramel/vanilla type of scent, but then it dries down...and all I smell is some off type of note that I don't know really what it is, but it does not belong in the fragrance. It just plain ruins it. Kind of like going to the movies and hearing some obnoxious person that won't be quiet and ruins the movie. You like the movie, but you can't pay attention. It is the same w/this perfume. I like it, but not that spicy/peppery note in the end. Just kinda ruins it for me...

I have to say that I bought this perfume when it first came out, and I love it. It is very unique, I get a lot of vanilla notes and even some licorice. However, I have had several people I know tell me it stinks and it smells like the "familiar old lady". Actually, I have never gotten a compliment on it, but I don't care. I am wearing this stuff for me-I think it smells great!

Cleansers -Clearasil - New Clearasil Ultra Face Wash
geographer 8/9/2007 10:17:00 PM
I only gave it 3 stars because it is SO drying, yet I would repurchase because this is one of those things I have got to keep on hand for that stubborn blemish. For example, I felt one of those cystic acne bumps coming up on my chin last week. I used this only twice, concentrating on that area and it was GONE. Completely. If I had not used this, I am sure that thing would have tripled in size, and also would really hurt. But, I could never use this on a daily basis.

Lotions/ Creams -Chanel - Coco mademoiselle fresh body lotion
geographer 7/12/2007 5:25:00 PM
Oh my gosh-this stuff REEKS. Thank goodness I got a sample. It stinks like rotten self-tanner that has been marinated in 8 hour sweat. Add a little drop of some men's aftershave, and you have Coco Mademoiselle. I don't understand the appeal of this stuff, and I couldn't wash it off fast enough. The lotion stinks just as bad as the perfume does, at least now I know.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy - Root Touch Up
geographer 7/8/2007 11:04:00 PM
I have mixed reviews on this. I dye my mom's hair for her between color/highlights she gets at the salon. We bought the dark blonde, but it really came out a medium brown. The pros are that it worked really well, covered up her gray completely, and blended well w/the color and highlights she already had on her hair. The cons are mainly just 1-not enough product! I could barely finish the entire back of her hair. Next time, we are just going to have to buy 2 boxes.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Pleasures Delight

I totally agree with the previous reviewer. It is sweet, spicy, fruity, floral, all in 1 bottle. I hate the original Pleasures, and although I do like Pleasures Exotic and Intense, this one is defintely my style-I guess because it does have the fruity scent. Exotic and Intense were too much on the floral side for me. I think this is the first fragrance from EL that resembles more of a sweet/fruity scent yet, it is not tacky and the fragrance doesn't fade. I actually bought this as soon as it hit the stores. You really have to try this to see the difference.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - joesoef face cream, AHA 8 %
geographer 7/7/2007 2:12:00 PM
I love this stuff! It is hard to find, but well worth it. PROS: gentle AHA that doesn't really irritate, skin seems to "soak" it right in, and does work wonders! CONS: it does contain fragrance (which I don't mind but others may not like it), and I don't really like the packaging-I wish it came in a more hygenic pump. Overall, I will defintely purchase this again. Well worth the $, even though you only get .5 ounces. A great beauty secret that doesn't cost a lot!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic
geographer 7/4/2007 10:25:00 PM
I bought this because it was a buy 1 l'oreal get 1 50% off sale, so I thought I should try it. I agree w/most of the reviews in that it does go on thick and clumpy, and you really need to comb it out-but I don't have the time or really quite understand how to do that anyway. The thing is, it does really elongate my lashes and it dries pretty quick. What I have found is that if I use it on my top lashes, and then use my good 'ol standby-my Maybelline Full and Soft on the bottom lashes, it doesn't do that bad. I just can't see throwing this in the trash and wasting money, though I am disappointed that I bought it.

Ok, So I bought this today and I am very unhappy w/it. It smells like Britney Spears "Fantasy" -which I don't really mind, by the way because I like sweet/fruity fragrances, but this has some kind of powdery, stale afternote that makes it stink and also smell very cheap! Not worth the nearly $55 it costs for 1.7 oz. At least w/Fantasy you get twice that amount for the price.

I have to comment about Ponds Clean Sweep. I had major skull/neck surgery 2 mos. ago and brought these w/me to the hospital. They were a lifesaver considering it even HURT to touch my face. Ironically, my skin never looked better (though I looked horrible beyond words). Well anyway, I bought these again 2 weeks ago and just started to use them at night, and my skin is clearing up again. I love the fact that they are non drying, completely remove makeup, and cleanse in 1 step. I also like the fact that you don't need water. They are so convenient, like having a brand new washcloth every night. Just one glance at the ingredients, (things like green tea, etc.) and you know there is good stuff in them. Oh and did I mention the price? Unbelievable!!!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Inner Grace EDP
geographer 6/25/2007 11:56:00 PM
I agree totally 100 % with the previous reviewer. I can only smell "old" in this perfume. It really does remind me of something from the 70's. It just smells stale and old fashioned. And boy does this stuff last-in a bad way, unfortunately. As in, can't wait to wash it off last. Why can't Philosophy come out with a Falling in Love or Pure Grace EDP scent that lasts? Unless maybe they have, but I quit spending money on "fragrance sprays" that smell like a body splash with a staying power of all 5 minutes. Total hype, cutesly marketing slogans, but I have found nothing of substance to back the $$$ up.

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure for women
geographer 6/25/2007 11:51:00 PM
I LOVE this stuff. I wish I would have bought this before Coco Mademoiselle, but live and learn. This is exactly what I was looking for-clean, soapy, but classy and sweet. Someone even told me it smelled like dryer sheets. I don't think it does, but it definetely doesn't have that stinky, perfumey, flowery, fake odor that seems to permeate the air. I much prefer the classy subtleness that this scent invokes.

I have kind of mixed reviews on this. It smelled great in the sample that the woman sprayed on the card. Kind of fruity, yet refined with a touch of class. So I bought it and when I sprayed it on me, the stuff reeked like men's cologne. Just like the bottle of "Miracle Forever" that I exchanged for this! DH liked but that is because he even told me that HE would wear it because it smelled like aftershave. That was the last straw for me. I should have listened to the saleswoman who told me that it smells different on everyone and to sample it first on my arm.
