Hair Color -Fudge - Paint Box Hair Color
decoydream 7/9/2011 5:35:00 AM
Not exactly sure if i did something wrong, but this stuff didn't work at all! I put foils in my sisters hair using the Fudge Paint Box in Purple Haze and after waiting 30mins then rinsing - there was no difference at all! We even waited till her hair had completely dried and it looked exactly the same as before! It may be because she had dark hair (with bits of brown from previous dye) but it should have at least had a subtle difference right? If i could, i would give this product no lippies ):

Lipstick -Clinique - High Impact Lip Colour SPF 15 - Extreme Pink
decoydream 6/29/2011 5:47:00 AM
It's one of my most used lippies for a few reasons: - Love the colour. It's a darkish pink with quite finely milled glitter. It also doesn't look too dark on my naturally pink lips. - It lasts all day - Not drying if you put a layer of lip balm on underneath -I've been using it for over a year and there's still product left! I generally use this lipstick as more of a stain (using my fingers to dab the colour on) to disperse the pigment a little more. I'm kinda surprised at the relatively low ratings for this lipstick - i love it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Long Last - Blushing Nude
decoydream 6/29/2011 5:40:00 AM
I really like this lipstick! On me (asian, NC25 during the warmer months...), this looks like a nicer version of my natural lip colour which is lovely as a nude! It's more shiny (not glittery.. more like a 'wet' look) than expected and lasted as long as any other lipstick on me (about 4-5 hours). My new go-to lipstick! :)

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Jet Black
decoydream 6/20/2011 6:42:00 AM
Back when i was 15 and trying out my first make up, RImmels jet black kohl was in my small make up kit. I use to dislike it greatly - it faded on my bottom waterline and could not draw definite lines. But as i grew up, it's become a staple eyeliner! I use this for that smudgy look (usually for bolder, smokier eyeshadow looks or to create a fuller upper lashline) and if im worried that it would fade (or that my oily eyelids have a chance of wreaking havoc), i smudge a black eyeshadow on top of it. All in all, a great soft kohl (but not so ridiculously soft that it breaks everytime you sharpen it) thats intense in its colour!

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
decoydream 6/20/2011 6:32:00 AM
After the rave reviews of Dove Beauty Bar, i decided to try it - for my face! I suffer from acne, with pitted and somewhat dark scarring as well pores the size of China (okay, not really but they are huge!)! Anyway, i have tried this product for a month and unfortuntely, it wasn't as fantastic as i expected it to be. My pores are still large and i still have acne BUT there are pros too! It has evened out my skintone slightly, doesn't dry out my skin (or make it oiler than normal) and is the BEST at removing make up! Even though its no miracle product, i'll still continue to use this as its just as good as any other cleanser i've ever bought. Until i find a miracle product, Dove wins! EDIT! 9/07/2011: I've stopped using this altogether. I realised that the particularly nasty patch of acne on my jawline was because of this! As i result, i have stopped using it for my face and body (but maybe ill just use it as hand soap) out of fear. I've switched back to some older, more trustworthy brands and im slowly on the road to recovery....

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Precious Posy
decoydream 6/12/2011 7:40:00 AM
My everyday blush. It blends effortlessly, is pigmented, has glitter but is not gaudy and doesn't fade. I think this is one of those colours that work on almost all complexions and is defintely one of the best products i've used from Clinique!

Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 colors warm palette
decoydream 6/12/2011 7:31:00 AM
It took me a while to purchase this pallete due to the shipping costs (which is by weight, and cost more than the actual product! I live in Australia...) and im glad i did. Sure, it has cons, for example the rather chalky nature of many of the lighter colours and the lack of colour payoffs, BUT there are many great colours and favourites on there such as the plums, khaki green, silvers, matte blacks and the sparkly dark brown. The packaging however leaves much to be desired as the little pans fall out easily and the lid doesn't stay open. The applicators are also useless but it was to be expected. I don't think i would re-purchase because even though the pans of colour are small, it would last a long time anyway.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Anti - Shine (tube)
decoydream 5/27/2011 5:22:00 AM
I bought this in hopes that it would be the miraculous solution to my uber greasy skin (not just in my t zone.. and it usually greases up within the hour or less depending on weather and exercising etc) but unfortuntely its not. It decreases the shine and slows it down a bit but thats about it. I've tried it under my foundation and over it (when used over, i found that my foundation looks uneven and a little seperated) but neither application methods seemed to have worked... If anything changes, i'll edit this review! EDIT: It's still no miracle product for me but i've tried to use it on my entire face underneath foundation because i had a job interview and i didn't want to look oily. It worked fine BUT it had this tackiness to it which felt uncomfortable and unnatural on my face. For that reason, i wouldn't use it everyday - it's easier for me to just blot occasionally instead!

Powder -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Glow Enhancing Powder Foundation SPF26
decoydream 5/27/2011 2:20:00 AM
I'm not entirely sure if mine is the "glow enhancing powder" but i would assume so since mine came in the sleek black case too! I bought this over in HK which im sure is cheaper than here in Australia (if they even stock it here...) and im glad i did! Instead of using the sponge, i use a kabuki brush to apply it (in swirling motions). However, i can't just use this as a foundation as i have acne, dark scars and generally a very uneven skintone. To rectify that, i use a tiny amount of bourjous healthy mix to provide a little coverage and something for the powder to stick onto. Much like every other liquid and powder foundation i use, i turn oily all over within a few hours, but with some blotting paper all is fixed! Despite the higher price, i would buy this again for the velvety smooth finish,

Skincare - Face -Clinique - Acne Solutions Line (all products)
decoydream 4/25/2011 1:17:00 AM
I bought the whole set of this product and was very disapointed that it did nothing for my skin! It didn't worsen nor improve it and did around the same thing as some more cheaper chemist branded cleansers, toners and moisterisers.

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - translucent loose powder
decoydream 4/22/2011 7:00:00 AM
This translucent powder is great for setting foundation and concealer! It doesn't change the colour of your foundation at all, but instead gives it a very soft and smooth finish (without any chalkiness even if you do put a fair bit on!). Unfortunately, my skin is so oily and acne prone that it doesn't manage to keep the greasiness away for more than 3-4 hours. But i have a mini one of this so i can bring my mini kabuki brush with this for touch ups during the day after some oil blotting :) Although i would buy this again, i doubt i would ever need to because so little lasts a very long time!

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer - Sable
decoydream 4/21/2011 3:33:00 AM
A lovely eyeliner! True to its name, it is entirely waterproof! It stayed on after 15 hrs of being out, rain and the worse nemesis of all - my super oily eyelids! The only reason i knocked one lippy off was because i wish it was a smidge darker in colour so it'll blend in with my lashline more naturally...

Blush -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Blush & Highlighter
decoydream 4/21/2011 3:23:00 AM
I bought this in "autumn catwalk" and i love it! It has fabulous colours (the centre one is a little sparkly but doesn't appear glittery on your face which is good) and i especially love the lightest pink section on my skin tone (NC25). All in all, this is a great blush in texture, colour and price and i would defintely buy this again!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
decoydream 4/1/2011 6:03:00 AM
I didn't have high expectations for this mascara but it still managed to disapoint me! While the brush is nice and large (i find it okay despite usually preferring traditional non rubber brushes), it doesn't give me legnth nor volume! The only reason it gets 2 lippies is because it doesn't smudge at all (on my oily eyelids) and it's also a rare mascara that can actually hold a curl. All in all, it lacks volume and legnth and i would therefore not repurchase. I've found that the best drugstore mascaras i've tried (that are sold in Australia anyway) are still in the Max Factor brand....

Concealers -Rimmel - Match Perfection Concealer
decoydream 3/10/2011 5:55:00 AM
I don't have very dark circles so I can't vouch for it's concealing properties for the under eye area. However, it's good for small spots that are not too pigmented as well as highlighting he undereye area to make you look more awake! The consistency isn't too thick so it doesn't settle into fine lines and creases. I also find that it did in fact adapt to my skin tone! I bought this in the lightest shade but it still worked on my medium, yellow based skin tone! The only issue I have with it is the control over squeezing how much product comes out but that can be remedied over time and experience I suppose :) all in all, a great product!
