Palettes -Sleek - Storm Palette
rated 5 of 5

This is the reason I'll never need the UD Naked Palette! Gorgeous neutral colours, browns, for everyday use, for a dark smokey eye in blue, black, purple. Some lovely highlights, golds, champagne colours. Some matte, some shimmery. An amazing black! All the colours are so pigmented and go on like a dream. So very cheap. The packaging is really nice and sleek (go figure). Absolutely LOVE this palette - my go-to palette for every day and night!

Lip Treatments -Sleek - Pout Polish SPF15 in Pink Cadillac
rated 4 of 5
Yrie 5/5/2011 10:14:00 AM

This is so pigmented, extremely pigmented for a lip balm. It is not extremely moisturising though, but goes on very smoothly and is easy to apply. The colour is amazing - very hot pink. It lasts quite a long time on my lips and seems to stain them a bit - the gloss goes first, the colour fades later. I love that it has SPF 15. The packaging looks nice. Very cheap :-)

Crème -TheBalm - Time Balm Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Yrie 5/5/2011 9:46:00 AM

This is a difficult one: - the colour looks scary dark in the pan (I got the colour Light), but blends quite nicely into my fair skin - it is SO easy to use too much! The best way to apply it (for me) is to use a wet sponge and apply it VERY sparingly - the coverage is very high but can be sheered out to some extent by using a very wet sponge and very little foundation. I rarely need a concealer with this, cause it covers everything so well. - when used correctly it looks natural and feels like you're not wearing anything at all, which I love - no need to set it with a powder - staying power is okay and can be improved by using a primer - quite pricey, but lasts you a long time! The Big But: the packaging is SO unsanitary! This goes for every creme foundation i guess, but I just hate to go into the product again and again, whether it's with my fingers, brushes or a sponge. Grrrr... So, I rated this 4 cause it's a good foundation, but 1 for the bad packaging. Will probably not buy again.

Highlighters -TheBalm - Mary-Lou Manizer
rated 5 of 5
Yrie 5/5/2011 9:27:00 AM

I love this highlighter! - definitely heavy-duty, so strong! - lovely champagne colour - gives a great glow, lovely shimmer but not too sparkly/glittery - looks amazing on cheekbones, browbones, collar bones, inner corners and cupid's bow - amazing packiging in retro-style, with mirror - last absolute AGES! Will probably never have to repurchase - will do though, if I ever run out (which is highly unlikely) - should be used with a light hand for natural look, can be applied more heavily for a dramatic evening look - bit expensive (got it on offer), but will last you forever, so price per use is minute Awesome!

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Nutri Gloss for medium to long hair thats damaged
rated 5 of 5
Yrie 5/5/2011 9:14:00 AM

I really like this shampoo: - you don't need much, cause it lathers like mad - it smells divine - the smell lingers in my hair - make my hair manageable and shiny - really cheap, especially when you get in on offer - I'm a sucker for pink packaging ^^ Give it a try :-)

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
rated 2 of 5
Yrie 4/24/2011 3:16:00 PM

This didn't do anything for my skin, it didn't even absorb properly, just kinda sat there. The packaging is very unhygienic. I didn't actually mind the smell so much, I quite like the lavender scent and I think it may have calmed my skin a bit. It didn't really feel hydrating though, and didn't help with breakouts either. For the ridiculous price I expected much much more.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 3 of 5
Yrie 4/24/2011 3:13:00 PM

A really good thing about this cleanser is that it doesn't leave my skin as dry as others tend to do. The packaging is good as well, it's easy to pour out just the amount I need. Actually, I can get this to foam quite easily, especially under the shower. But apart from that, it didn't really do anything for me. It didn't help with my breakouts or combination skin at all. And I sure can get a different, gentle cleanser that isn't near as expensive as this one. For me, for the price, it's not worth it.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
rated 2 of 5
Yrie 3/10/2011 1:22:00 PM

This mascara just wasn't for me. At first, I thought the formula was great - and it probably is good. But it is absolutely impossible for me to use the wand. It's horrendous. I can't seem to apply this without it getting EVERYWHERE! Maybe it's just me, but I find the shape of the brush really awkward, some bristles are short, others long, weird curve. Can't use without smudging. I'm probably not the most graceful when it comes to applying makeup, but this never happened to me with any other mascara. Will never buy again. Better stick to my Colossal Volume...

Blush -E.L.F. - Shy
rated 3 of 5
Yrie 1/18/2011 3:30:00 PM

This is the first blush I really like! The colour is perfect for my fair skin, and it is buildable if you want to go for a stronger pink tone. Easy to blend, goes on smootly. Looks very natural on my skin tone and would suit darker ones as well, I think. Unbeatable price :-) However, it is a bit chalky and I find it doesn't last so long on my skin. Still very good for the price.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Shine Eraser Blotting Sheets
rated 1 of 5
Yrie 1/18/2011 3:12:00 PM

These blotting papers are aweful - I need about 4! of these to get my whole face matte, and I'm not even that oily. I used to use the Superdrug's own brand ones: I only needed 1 of those sheets and they were even smaller! They also had a powdery side, which probably is the reason why they work so well. Of course I can easily afford to use more sheets because they're so dirt cheap, but I honestly can't be bothered. (I bought 2 packs of these and I even regret the one buck I spent on the second one...) The packaging sucks as well - because the sheets are so incredibly thin it's impossible to get one out at a time.... not that one sheet would be enough anyway, maybe they were counting on that. Would not buy again, wouldn't want them if they were free.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection
rated 2 of 5
Yrie 1/15/2011 11:36:00 AM

The packaging is nice and sturdy, with a really big mirror. The powder is very chalky and is very messy. When I put my brush into it, it just goes everywhere. For setting my foundation this powder is okay, but it doesn't keep my t-zone matte all day, I definitely have to touch up! On bare skin it evens out my skintone, but it doesn't get rid of all the discolourations. And it leaves a white-ish cast if too much powder is used. The idea of a "coloured" powder is nice, but it can only work one way: Only if you use the green powder on skin that shows redness, the pink and yellow powder on you undereye circles, and the blue powder on yellow-ish areas of the skin, it can work, because the colour of the poweder will counteract the discolourations of the skin. But if you mix them all together, obviously that won't do anything because the colours of the powder cancel each other out! Makes sense, right? So - Good idea, rubbish execution.

Eye Shadow -Superdrug - MUA (Make Up Academy) - Pressed Eye shadows
rated 5 of 5
Yrie 1/12/2011 5:03:00 PM

I absolutely love these eyeshadows! I got shade 11 pearl - a gorgeous dark bronze colour with a very lovely shimmer to it. Shade 8 matte - a really bright teal colour. My favourite is shade 12 pearl - apparently this is a perfect dupe for MAC's "Club". In the pan it looks the same as shade 11 but on the eye it is so much more: a dark bronze colour with the most amazing green shimmer refelxes you could possibly imagine. And the best part is that you can pack it one the lid to get the green and when you blend it out you get the bronze colour. It's like two eyeshadows in one! All the eyeshadows I got are very pigmented and last a long time. And they're only 1 quid! Can't go wrong.
