Conditioner -Logona - Conditioner Spray
Safin 6/5/2010 8:39:00 AM
I was searching for a good (natural) leave in conditioner for my fine hair, which becomes oily very fast. I had good results with the detangling spray from L'Oreal Elvive, but there are so much bad chemicals (parabens, fragrance, PEG, cones, etc.) in it, that it made my scalp itchy and I don't want to use it anymore. This Logona conditioner spray does a good job in detangling, my hair feels light and fresh and has a lot of volume, it feels like hair again! BUT, the second ingredients is Alcohol and this is very drying to my hair. The use of Alcohol (and irriating essential oils) is really a problem in natural hair and skincare. Such a shame...

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Elvive Anti Dandruff Selenium S
Safin 5/6/2010 12:21:00 PM
I have a very sensitive scalp with (itching) Seb Derm sometimes. The best thing that works for me is Selenium Sulfide. Normally I buy Selsun and normally I try to find a shampoo with as much healthy ingredients as possible, but I found this L'oreal shampoo in my local supermarket and it was very cheap, so I wanted to give it a chance. The selenium sulfide did a good job, but this shampoo was too agressive and drying for me. Lotions/ Creams -Weleda - Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream
Safin 5/6/2010 11:48:00 AM
My hands were very dry of using a hars shampoo, this handcreme couldn't solve the problem. I think it is an okay handcreme to use at daytime after washing your hands, but when your hands need to be repaired than you need something more heavy/moisturizing. There are much better options, for example the Hemp Handcreme from the Body Shop or the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula. Edit june2010: I discovered that the problems with my hands (dry, dermatitis) were because of this handcreme, I must be allergic to one or more of the ingredients. Water (Aqua), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Stearic Acid, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Panicum Miliaceum (Millet) Seed Extract, Ruscus Aculeatus Root Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Petal Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil Unsaponifiables, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Limonene*, Linalool*, Citronellol*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Eugenol*, Coumarin*.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Dermolin - Washgel
Safin 5/6/2010 11:24:00 AM
The last few years I used the Aloe Vera non foaming Cleanser from the Body Shop at night, it was so gentle that I didn't have to use a moisturizer afterwards. But it didn't do something about the acne that I have on my chin. The Dermolin Washgel is a foaming cleanser with Lactic Acid as one of the ingredients. I saw on youtube that this can be a good (very gentle) exfoliant, more gentle than salicylic acid and other acids. It turned out to be perfect for my skintype, which is very sensitive and acne prone. I do need a moisturizer afterwards, it is a little bit drying, but it cleanses very very good. If I get a pimple now and then, it are not the painfull deep cysts that they used to be, but 'normal' pimples that disappear in a few days. Dermolin is a brand sold in Holland, and doesn't contain perfume, parabens and other harsh ingredients. Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Betaine, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, C12-15 Alkyl Lactate, Magnesium Chloride, Caprylyl Glycol, Lactic Acid Edit 5-2011: This turned out to be too drying, I went back to the Aloe Vera cream cleanser from the Body Shop.

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Nutriganics Foaming Facial Wash
Safin 4/12/2010 1:01:00 PM
I love foaming cleansers, but the con is that they all make my face very dry. This cleanser is no exception unfortunately. I've used it for 2 weeks now and my face feels dry, burning and irritated. Even my acne became worse these 2 weeks. I don't know if all of this is because of the cocamidopropyl betaine, the salicylic acid or the fragrance. All together it isn't the skin friendly cleanser that I hoped for, back to the non-foaming aloe vera cleanser from the body shop. Aqua/Water, Sucrose*, Glycerin, Propanediol, Coco-Betaine, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Sodium Chloride, Sucrose Laurate, Sodium Benzoate, Salicylic Acid, Fragrance, Linalool, Citronellol, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil*, Buddleja Davidii Extract*, Thymus Vulgaris Extract/Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract*, Malva Sylvestris Flower Extract/Malva Sylvestris (Mallow) Flower Extract*, Arginine, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Physiogel - A.I. Cream
Safin 3/24/2010 1:17:00 PM
I have used the Physiogel lotion for 2 years and wanted to try something new. My skin became a bit dry and irritated from the cold winter, so I wanted something very moisturizing for the night. This A.I. (anti irritant) cream is indeed very moisturizing, but a bit too heavy for my acne prone skin. It doesn't absorbe very good in my skin, what is not a very big problem at night, but it makes my hair oily too. I think this is a very good cream for very dry skin types, but I will return to the lotion version. By the way, I love the ingredient list, no harmfull ingredients at all: Aqua, Olea Europaea, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Palm Glycerides, Olus, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Squalane, Betaine, Palmitamide MEA, Acetamide MEA, Sarcosine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Carbomer, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum

Gels/Soaps -Eucerin - Eucerin Shower Oil
Safin 3/24/2010 12:58:00 PM
This is a review for the PH5 shower oil (europe). I've noticed that in winter time my skin becomes too dry from the normal shower gels, even if they are without SLES and fragrance. It is difficult to find a good shower oil without fragrance and chemicals. This oil performs very well, but has fragrance in it and is expensive. I don't understand that there are so many companies that claim to make products for sensitive skintypes and do add fragrance in a lot of their products: Eucerin La Roche Posay Avene Vichy ROC

Conditioner -Kevin Murphy - Angel.Rinse
Safin 3/24/2010 12:39:00 PM
I was looking for a very light conditioner for my fine long hair. Most conditioners make my hair very heavy and limp. My hairdresser works with Kevin Murphy and adviced me the Angel Rinse and I love it. It is indeed very light, my hair doesn't become oily at all and the ingredients are all natural (no chemicals, yeh). After using this conditioner my hair needs a little bit more moisture, I think I will combine this conditioner with a mask now and than. The bottle looks nice, but is very unpractical.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Intensive Rescue Clinical Therapy Skin Protectant Body Lotion
Safin 3/24/2010 12:26:00 PM
This body moisturizer is close to perfect. In the winter my skin becomes itchy and this is the only moisturizer that helps me. It is fragrance free, light and not too expensive. The only con is the ingredientlist full of chemicals: Water; Glycerin; Petrolatum; Stearic Acid; Glycol Stearate; Isopropyl Isostearate; Dimethicone; Tapioca Starch; Glyceryl Stearate; Stearamide AMP; Cetyl Alcohol; Triethanolamine; Magnesium Aluminum Silicate; Carbomer; Disodium EDTA; Phenoxyethanol; Methylparaben; Propylparaben; CI 77891

Ingredients from packaging: aloe barbadensis leaf juice extract, aqua, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium cocoamphoacetate, coco-glucoside, cocamide dea, sodium chloride, peg-12 methyl glucose dioleate, glycerin, leptospermum scoparium mel, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, parfum

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - The Honey Collection - Active Clear
Safin 12/23/2009 11:36:00 AM
I bought this cream because of the Manuka Honey that is in it and has a good influence on acne. The texture of this cream is very strange. It is thick and it blends in difficult, but after blending it in it is not heave or oily. I use it at night by the way. This cream doesn't prevent acne, but it heals acne very quick. What worries me is that in the ingredientslist the Emulsifier and Preservative are not specified! Ingredients: Distilled Water, Active Manuka Honey, Emulsifier, Apricot Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Tocopherol, Sesame Oil, Rose Water, Beeswax, Preservative, Calendula Oil, Manuka Oil, Chamomile Extract

Conditioner -Yes To Carrots - Pampering Hair Mud Conditioner
Safin 12/23/2009 11:19:00 AM
My experiences with this product are kind of mixed. First of all, the smell remembers me of the original Nivea moisturizer (in the blue box), I like it. It also makes my long fine hair shiny and soft. On the other hand it makes my hair so soft that it becomes a bit limp and flat in half a day. Maybe because of the silicones in it (Yes it is not that natural at all). Ingredients (Europe): Water (Aqua), Dead Sea Water (Maris Aqua), Silt (Maris Limus), Magnesium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Chamomila Recutita (Chamomile) Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Algae Extract, Daucus Carota (Carrot) Seed Oil, Parfum, Calendula Officinalis flower oil, Daucus carota sativa (carrot) juice, Dimethicone, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat Germ) Oil, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Juice, Cucumis Melo (Melon) Extract, Ipomoea Batatas (Sweet Potato) Extract, Cetrimonium Chloride, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Honey (Mel) Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Peel Extract, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, citronellol

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Hemp Hand Protector
Safin 12/23/2009 10:58:00 AM
This handcreme is great. My hands were in a very bad condition, I used this a few nights and now they are soft again. I don't think it is too oily, actually not at all. And also the tube doesn't give me problems. The smell is nice too. I also put it on my feat at some nights, not bad either.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Dr.Organic - Aloe Vera Skin Lotion
Safin 11/18/2009 12:21:00 PM
This is a good body moisturizer, not too light and not too oily. But not heavy enough when your skin is itchy. The smell is like Aloe Vera, not very attractive, but it is okay for me. The ingredients are safe (3 at the cosmeticsdatabase). I would love to use it on my face too, but I am a bit afraid of the myristyl myristate that can be pore clogging. aloe barbadensis leaf juice, caprylic/capric triglyceride, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, glycerin, isocetyl palmitate, cetealrylalcohol, myristyl myristate, olea europaea oil unsaponifiables, theobroma cacao seed butter, butyrospermum parkii butter, glyceryl caprylate, tocopherol, heliantus annuus seed oil, glycyrrhetenic acid, retinyl palmitate, xanthan gum, aqua, chondrus crispus extract, aroma, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sodium phyrate, limonene
