Eye Shadow -NARS - Bombshell
Poppylovee 8/27/2007 9:59:00 PM
I usually go for MAC eyeshadows, but I was at a boutique looking at Nars eyeshadows, and after testing some on my hand, I found them to be quite comparable to MAC eyeshadows (although they are pricier). I was planning on purchasing Edie (I was looking for a light-ish neutral color to brighten my eyes) but it was sold out, so I went for my second favorite, Bombshell. Bombshell is a neutral-ish taupe-ish color with pretty silver-ish shimmer. For me, it works well as an all over wash for my eyelids, or just to highlight the brow bone, or just in the corners to brighten up your eyes. I love the cute packaging. It's rubber so if you drop it you won't crack the packaging or anything. It also comes with its own mirror inside. You get quite a bit of eyeshadow, IMO, and since I don't use a whole lot of product each time, this will probably last a long time, but I will repurchase it if I ever run out. UPDATE: I don't think I would repurchase this eyeshadow again. Although it's not horrible or anything (I have lowered my rating to a 3) I find it a bit difficult to get it to show up at all on my eyelids. The texture of this eyeshadow is a bit a bit dry for my liking too, so I think I will stick with my MAC eyeshadows from now on (which are cheaper than this anyway).

Lip Gloss -NARS - Orgasm
Poppylovee 8/27/2007 9:49:00 PM
I have mixed feelings towards this gloss. Once I apply this gloss, rub my lips together a few time, and wait a minute or two, I really love the way this gloss looks. It doesn't really deposit much color, but it leaves behind some pretty golden peach shimmer and a bit of dewy shine. It has no scent, which doesn't bother me, but I do prefer my glosses to be lightly scented (I love the light vanilla in MAC's glosses). I don't find this stuff to be sticky, yet it still lasts and lasts. I wore this for a few hours, had something to eat, and then had a shower and this stuff stayed on through all of that! My problem with it is that I find the texture to be quite dry, and the applicator never seems to pick up enough product- either that, or the stuff is too thick to pick up. There are things I like about this gloss, but for the high price tag, there are many glosses that are WAY better. UPDATE: Okay, so this still isn't my favorite lip gloss ever, but I do like it WAYYY better than when I first started using it. For some reason, the texture isn't nearly as dry and unpleasant as before, and the wand applictor seems to pick up more product. Because of this, I actually might buy it again when I run out.

Hair -Revlon - Outrageous Shampoo & Conditioner
Poppylovee 8/27/2007 9:36:00 PM
Both the shampoo and conditioner have an amazing, irresistable scent. It's fresh and clean, but still smells gorgeous. The shampoo doesn't dry out my hair, and cleans it well. The conditioner doesn't make my hair feel greasy, and leaves it nice and silky. I probably won't repurchase, only because there are other shampoos and conditioners I love even more. But for the price, these are really good products- my favorite thing about them is definately the scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Bliss Labs - Vanilla + bergamot body butter
Poppylovee 8/27/2007 9:29:00 PM
I bought this mainly because of the fragrance, which I absolutely adore. It smells so soft and sensual. I love practically anything with vanilla, and although I love this scent too, it's definately a different vanilla. It's a subtly spicy and somewhat earthy vanilla. As for the body butter itself, I actually do love it. I have used the Plum Plum body butter before, and remembered it as being a bit greasy and a bit too thick for my skin. But this one, although rich and thick and creamy, isn't too greasy at all, IMO. It leaves my skin comfortably moist, soft, and smooth. I usually try out new products all of the time, even if have already found products that I love, so when I run out of this, I will definately come back to it eventually.

Conditioner -Suave - Naturals Lavender Conditioner
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 5:26:00 PM
Love, love, love this stuff (along with the matching shampoo). I love the lavender-lilac scent (I admit that the scent is the main reason I bought this conditioner). But the conditioner itself is pretty good, too. It's a bit runnier and more lightweight than most other conditioners, IMO. But, some how, it manages to leave my hair softer, silkier, and shinier than all those other conditioners. This stuff works great and I would definately repurchase.

Shampoo -Suave - Naturals Lavender Shampoo
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 5:23:00 PM
I love everything about this shampoo. The lavender-lilac scent is great. It doesn't dry my hair out, but still cleanses well. It lathers up nicely, too. Plus, it's cheap so if you haven't already tried it, you really should, as it's a fantastic shampoo.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 5:23:00 AM
Wow. I can't believe that something that only cost me $2.99 could work so well! I love the feeling of this mask going on- very smooth and soft, and it feels slightly cooling on your skin. After rinsing it off (I usually just wash if off in the shower, and follow with my usual cleanser), my skin is sooo smooth and soft. Besides that, my skin feels so clean and refreshed. I also love using it as an overnight spot treatment on pimples. This is one of the best face masks I have tried, and considering that it's only about 3 bucks for this giant tube, it's definately worth trying it out.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:23:00 AM
This is one of my favorite mascaras ever. It never clumps, and only ever flakes if I am constantly rubbing my eyes (what mascara wouldn't?). The brush does a fantastic job of seperating and adding definition to my lashes. It looks good for hours, too. I wear contacts, and this has never, ever irritated my eyes. Lovely, lovely mascara that I will definately repurchase.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:18:00 AM
I find this cleanser to be just okay. It does work pretty well for me, so I know that I can turn to it in a pinch. It never irritates my skin and never dries me out. I don't find that it leaves my skin feeling particularily clean and refreshed, though, so that is my main complaint about this product. The texture is a bit different, it doesn't foam, lather, bubble-up, or anything for that matter. It's just kind of a flat, boring, clear-ish liquid that doesn't do anything special, but I'm okay with that. It doesn't really do anything good for my skin, but nothing bad either, so I don't mind using it if I have to.

Treatments (Eye) -Aveda - Tourmaline Charged Eye Cream ] [DISCONTINUED]
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:13:00 AM
I usually love Aveda products, but this definately didn't do any good for me. It didn't even come close to being moisturizing enough for my eye area. And, even worse, was when it was applied under concealer. I thought that even though it was a horrible eye cream, it might at least serve as a decent primer for my concealer. But noooo. It made my concealer look so horrible- my normally pretty good concealer, which I have never had problems with, looked cakey, creased, and dry. I will never purchase this product again, and wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. Even if you have oily skin and are thinking this product might be good for you because it is lightweight, I am warning you that I actually found this product to be more effective at drying out my eye area than actually hydrating it.

Conditioner -Suave - Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:07:00 AM
I love this stuff, along with the matching coconut shampoo. I love anything coconut scented, and this has a lovely, not plastic-y or gross, coconut scent. The scent lingers in your hair after too, which I appretiate because the scent is so nice. As for the conditioner itself, I really like it. Although it is pretty lightweight, IMO, it manages to leave my hair a lot softer than most other conditioners. It never leaves my hair feeling greasy or starts leaving build-up. And considering that it's only a few bucks, trust me, you can't go wrong.

Shampoo -Suave - Tropical Coconut Shampoo
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:05:00 AM
Wow, this product is beyond superb considering that it's only a few bucks. The scent is very nice, I don't find it to be a gross, headache-inducing, fake coconut at all. Also, the shampoo itself is good. It doesn't dry out my hair at all, yet also leaves it feeling well cleansed. I would definately without a doubt repurchase this shampoo.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 3:02:00 AM
To my surprise, this moisturizer actually worked very well for me. Although maybe a bit too strong, the scent was clean and nothing horrible. I liked the sanitary pump packaging. As for the product itself, it moisturized pretty well because my skin was never left feeling dry or uncomfortable. And although at the time I never paid any attention to this, now, when I look back at pictures, my skin was completely clear around the time when I was using this. I enjoyed the slightly cool and tingly sensation of this moisturizer on my skin, too. I took off a lippie because I think this maybe a bit too strong for my skin, or maybe it was just a bit irritating, because after using this for a while, my skin (mostly around my cheeks) became a lot redder/pinker than usual. If you are looking for a good, affordable moisturizer and you don't have sensitive skin (I don't consider myself to have sensitive skin, so if it made even my skin a bit irritated, then I definately wouldn't take a chance on sensitive skin) then I would reccomend this moisturizer.

Scrubs -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Facial Scrub
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 2:56:00 AM
I actually like the scent of this product, I found it to be clean and slightly refreshing. When I was using this, I was actually using it as an exfoliating facial cleanser. It always left my skin feeling and looking clean and refreshed. It never broke me out or irritated my skin. It helped to soften and smooth my skin, also. It was okay at exfoliating, pretty gentle, which is probably why it worked so well when used on a daily basis, versus only a few times a week like with most scrubs. I wouldn't repurchase this, only because I love my Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser, which I am using now. But if you are looking for something affordable than this is a good choice.

Concealers -MAC - Select Moisturecover
Poppylovee 8/8/2007 2:50:00 AM
I have tried sooo many concealers, and this is one of the best...so far. I have still yet to find my HG, and although this one came close, it is not *the one*. There is such a fantastic range of colors (obviously, it's MAC, after all), and NC35 is the perfect match for my medium skin tone. I like this better for under my eyes than for blemishes, but it works well on both. I find it amazing how this never creases or looks cakey under my eyes. It's easy and effortless to apply, and blends nicely. And it's nice to know that when I apply it in the morning, it will still looks the same hours later. Definately a great concealer worth checking out.
