Polishes -OPI - I'm Not Really A Waitress
rated 5 of 5

Love this color for my toes, and for my tips in the winter around holiday times! In certain light, the color shimmers deeply, almost like you can see _into_ the color and that there is something deeper in there. Good tone of red for most people--on the blue side of reds, IMO, which makes it classic. Highly recommended for your collection!

Very smooth and shiny, gorgeous deep pink. Not neon and obnoxious, just a great bright pink for summer toes!

Polishes -Essie - Ballet Slippers

Love this color--neutral and clean looking. But ONLY when applied by a professional manicurist. I bought a bottle for home use, and it streaks EVERY time I apply it, whether thick or thin, single coat or triple. Not worth it for home use IMO.

I agree with all the 1-lipstick reviews here. Nothing but baby powder. Vanilla? Nope.

Fragrances -Penhaligon's - Artemisia
rated 2 of 5
Oleander 9/3/2004 2:57:00 PM

Artemisia reminds me of how I remember Aliage (Estee Lauder) smells (and I haven't smelled it in about 25 years). It's green, but warm, and not bad, but just not good for me. Maybe it seems too masculine to me, or "perfumey." And I now have a headache...

Too sharp for my tastes. Smells like hairspray. Not my cup of tea...

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - Amande Firming & Smoothing Milk Concentrate
rated 5 of 5
Oleander 7/6/2004 7:55:00 PM

Wonderful emollient cream comes in a squat jar. Moisturizes very well; easily spread because it is not too thick. I happen to love the scent--somewhat almond (not like a cookie) with a floral aspect and some vanilla thrown in for good measure. Claims to have toning and firming capabilities--I don't put much stock in that. Exercise is the only thing that will accomplish firming. Recommended if you feel like splurging and you like the smell.

Skincare - Body -Origins - Spring Fever Body Souffle
rated 5 of 5
Oleander 7/6/2004 2:17:00 PM

I have been wearing Spring Fever for about 10 years now, it seems, and I still really like it. I always reach for it when the weather starts changing in the springtime. The Body Souffle is a wonderful moisturizer, and smells just like the perfume. Lovely, refreshing floral with green notes, and maybe a bit watery. Recommended.

Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane - L'Oranger Douche d'Orange/Shower and Bath Gel
rated 4 of 5
Oleander 6/30/2004 2:23:00 PM

Energizing shower gel with microcapsules which supposedly moisturize and nourish the body. I think the L'Oranger line smells similar to 4711 products from Köln. It's refershing and citrusy, but I don't smell it and think "orange." This shower gel looks cool in the bottle and it's an eye-opener in the morning--used with the L'Oranger Body Milk (which has terrible packaging) you have a light citrus scent for the day.

Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane - Amande Cleansing and Soothing Shower Oil
rated 5 of 5
Oleander 6/30/2004 2:10:00 PM

L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil foams when you use it, and it smells heavenly! Sweet and light, it isn't a true almond smell to me (not like almond extract), but it does smell lightly of almonds and also somewhat flowery and a bit of vanilla. Very moisturizing , lathers well, and leaves the skin lightly scented; but the bath smells GREAT after use!

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Almond Blossom Dew [perfume gel] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Oleander 6/30/2004 2:01:00 PM

I agree with the reviewer below that this product is a mystery--it's not perfume, it's not lotion, it's....??? Nevertheless, I like the scent of this--complements the amande shower oil, which smells heavenly to me--very light, sweet, somewhat flowery, somewhat almond-like--seem comforting in a way. I use this "dew" by spraying a few squirts in a handful of unscented body lotion. I received as a sample from the store when I bought the shower gel. Don't expect perfume power from this one, and don't expect clear almond scent; I am thinking it smells like the flowers on an almond plant (do they even have flowers???). See, it's all a mystery...

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Eau d'Azur
rated 3 of 5
Oleander 6/30/2004 1:53:00 PM

A fresh, citrusy fragrance that is pleasant enough, but there is a "perfumey" aspect to it that I don't like--almost like I can taste it when I wear it. Perhaps it is just too sharp of a scent for me; it's not horrible, IMO, but just not great. I think I would like this smell in the shower gel moreso.

Candles -Tocca - Candle in Stella
rated 5 of 5
Oleander 6/29/2004 2:21:00 PM

Love, love, love this candle!! Stella smells wonderful--fresh oranges with a bit of sweetness--I smile every time I enter the bathroom where this candle is, and I haven't even taken a match to it. Scents the room unlit, which is great!

Lotions/ Creams -Tocca - Crema Da Corpo in Stella (blood orange)
rated 4 of 5
Oleander 6/29/2004 2:13:00 PM

I am giving this lotion four lipsticks instead of five because the moisturizing aspect is average to good, but the scent is a five for sure! Smells _almost_ exactly like the Stella candle, which makes me swoon every time I go into my bathroom where the candle is (doesn't even have to burn to scent the room). But I digress...the Stella lotion smells fresh, and softens your skin, but the scent fades after a while...doesn't disappear, but it fades. A plus: the room where you apply the lotion will smell like Stella! Waiting for a perfume...

Lotions/ Creams -Ecco Bella - Ecco Bella Vanilla Lotion
rated 3 of 5
Oleander 6/29/2004 1:34:00 PM

Fabulous vanilla scent!! I love the smell of this lotion--true vanilla, deep and full. BUT: the lotion itself is just too greasy and heavy for me. Good for spot treatment like elbows and knees, but the product just doesn't have enough slip for me to apply all over my body. Feels too sticky. I recommend trying before you buy to see if you like the texture. And I agree with another reviewer that men like the smell of this lotion! :)
