Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup

I do like this a lot on its own, the shimmer does not bother me at all. I absolutely adore the packaging! This lasts all day for me until I wash it off, It does not budge. I'm an NC42-44 so I bought Rich Ginger. It's a little too pink for me so I remedied the red undertones by adding a little bit of another one of my favorites, Revlon ColorStay in Caramel. Perfection! I love the pairing, my skin looks flawless!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
MzSiStarr 2/15/2011 5:01:00 PM
I think this is my HG cleanser because as with most Cetaphil products, whenever I stray from it I always wonder why?! I LOVE THIS CLEANSER! It truly is ridiculously gentle for my sensitive dry skin. I do not like suds in a facial cleanser because for me suds are an indication that the product is going to dry me out. This one produces little to no suds every time. I do wear a full face of makeup on a daily basis (smokey eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, powder, bronzer, etc) and this may or may not work for someone who expects to wash his/her face one time and be squeaky clean. I don't mind though. I love this so much that I enjoy washing my face more than once. This never breaks me out or cause irritation. It doesn't sting my eyes and I don't feel stripped of moisture after using this. Also the bottle seems to last me forever because you only need a dime sized amount to get pretty clean. I've even washed my body with this before!!! I just finished a bottle of Neutrogena's Oil-Free Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser (eh didn't hate it but didn't love it cause it left me kinda dry) and as soon as I switched back to this I noticed an immediate change!

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
MzSiStarr 2/15/2011 4:50:00 PM
I've been using this for the past 6+ years...I love this moisturizer. I use it for my face and my body every single day. Every time I stray from it I wonder what I was thinking. It's very rich and thick, it keeps my dry skin super hydrated in the winter. I even like it in the summer, its not too heavy. I just love how I can use it head to toe. This is also perfect under makeup. No residue and it doesn't change the look of my foundation, which some heavy moisturizers tend to do. Sometimes I complain about the price but if I think about it I use it on my face and body everyday so I guess its not that expensive considering the circumstances. I actually wish they made a larger sized tub, if they did I'm sure I would buy it. Another great factor is that you can find this at virtually every drugstore in America...that makes it super convenient!

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stiletto
MzSiStarr 2/15/2011 4:09:00 PM
This mascara is definitely a staple of mine. I achieve great lengths with this but as most reviewers have stated it provides ZERO volume. But since my lashes are pretty thick I'm OK with that. Plus I tight-line my eyes with eyeliner which creates lots of volume w/wo mascara. I love the fact that it is very very dark, pigment is something I look for in a good mascara. It comes off very easily with water but it doesn't melt when I sweat, which is perfect for me because I hate waterproof mascaras but I like when non-waterproof are long lasting. If you use this after a thickening mascara your lashes will look fake. This is also great for binding falsies together with your natural lashes. I like it so much that I'm almost finished with my third tube and I will be repurchasing as soon as I run out. IMO it's better than any MAC Mascara by a long shot, but then again I hate almost all of MAC's mascaras besides Opulash

Eye Primer -NYX - Eyeshadow Base in Pearl
MzSiStarr 2/15/2011 3:58:00 PM
I really really love this Eyeshadow Base. It prevents my shadows from creasing all day/night...literally until I wash my face. The shimmer creates a beautiful effect when layering matte eyeshadows over it. It's also sticky enough to adhere glitter pigments. You would think that the glass jar would cause it to dry out quickly but that is not the case. A little goes a LONG WAY. I've had mine for over a year and it's still moist and I have plenty of product to last me another year and some change. I also have NYX's Eyeshadow Base in White (love it for bright colorful looks) and I'm looking to get the SkinTone Eyeshadow Base sometime soon. Great Great Products, definitely a staple for any eyeshadow lover.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
MzSiStarr 2/15/2011 1:25:00 PM
After wearing this foundation for a complete week I can honestly say that I am very pleased with the product. Initially I was unsure because it seemed that the coloring was off (I'm an african american NC42-44. Sometimes I go up to NC45 in the summer), I purchased Caramel in the Normal/Dry formula. I've realized that the color is an excellent match, it's just pigmented differently from MAC's Studio Fix Fluid, which was what I was using before this. I find that ColorStay's Caramel has more red tones, whereas Studio Fix Fluid in NC42 is very yellow-based. For the first few days of wearing this I used my Monistat Chaffing Gel/Powder as a primer and then I stippled and buffed the ColorStay with a small blush brush, set with translucent powder. I really liked the end result..loved the finish. It was dewy but not overly shiny because of the translucent powder. Really pretty overall. So after about three days I thought, "hmm is this a lil to dark for me?"....Upon washing my face every night I felt really pale and noticed a dramatic difference so that was a sign for me that maybe I should go down a shade. Well lucky for me I happened to have a full bottle of Revlon's PhotoReady in Rich Ginger. I decided to mix about half a pump of the PhotoReady into the ColorStay (I mix my foundations on a CD to stay as sanitary as possible) and let me tell you....PERFECT COLOR FOR ME!!!! Wow this makes me love the ColorStay even more!!!! My skin looks and feels flawless, no breakouts or irritation, and I consider my skin to be dry and slightly on the sensitive side. I find that this can be a moderate to full coverage, depending on how you use it. It can also be used as a light coverage foundation if you blend very well. THERE IS SHIMMER in this foundation. No way near as shimmery as the PhotoReady but if you do not like any shimmer in your foundation you may be displeased with this. I personally do not mind shimmer in my foundation. I'm not sure if it covers acne/acne scars well because I do not have acne. I do have freckles and moles on my face and they still shine through after applying this foundation with a light hand but I'm OK with that. The packaging is annoying, as most of the other reviewers have stated. The lack of a pump can create quite a mess. I've read a lot of people state that this Foundation is drying but I don't have a problem with that because I moisturize really well before I put on any type of foundation, whether its Revlon MAC whatever. This Foundation does seem to last a long time on my face but I haven't tested it out at the club and to me that is the ultimate test. I live in New Jersey so it's pretty cold here in the winter time and really Hot in the summer so I'm anxious to see how this will hold up when it gets warm. Overall I really like this product and I will probably repurchase over and over again. Would've given it 5Stars if it weren't for the messy bottle. Maybe Revlon will listen to us and finally give us a pump based off of reviews like this!
