I tried this out at Ulta. The color was light. It was terrific. Went on invisibly and prevented my foundation from slipping into my pores the best of anything so far that I have tried. I'm still not a big primer fan. They are very pricey for what they *claim* to do. I guess I am old school but I think cleanser/toner/moisturizer is better than any primer.
Treatments (Eye) -Dr. Denese - Triple Strength Eye Wrinkle Smoother
MomColors 4/17/2008 1:15:00 AM
Every one of Dr. Denese's product's I've tried have worked just as advertised. This eye treatment visibly reduces my 40 year old crow's feet significantly. I hope they keep making it. I will cry if it goes away. Mine came as part of a set. The package is a bit tricky to handle. Bumping this up to 5 lips. I have used this religously for the last weeks. My undereye is noticeably less wrinkley. It has more elastic. Huh, who have thought a marketing claim would work. Lots of product with for the price.
Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Sea Island Cotton
MomColors 4/17/2008 1:11:00 AM
Ooooooh the Body Butter is sooooo creamy. One of my favorites. It goes well with my pricey HG fragrance from Trish McEvoy #3. The Bath and Body butter is significantly less expensive than Trish is.
Brows -Unlisted Brand - Ready to Wear : Brow Extension Set
MomColors 4/17/2008 1:09:00 AM
YUK! (I am reviewing the Ready to Wear Brow Extension set.) I was sucked into the awesome presentation on HSN. So dumb! This product is supposed to created a long wearing believable eyebrow by adding fibres to the end of your eyebrow or anywhere you want. It comes with the: sticky sealer or glue as I call it, the fibres and the remover.I paid $7 shipping for this junk. Cost is WORST: It's not easy to put on. It is marketed to be easy. Color applicator is terrible to work with. The remover doesn't work. The fibres/coloring don't go where you want them to. The sticky sealer ruins the whole color effect. But you need it because it the fibres move or fall off if you don't use the sealer. BEST: 30 day return policy :=) This is a love it or hate product others might love it. But if you don't you end up paying shipping to your house and back. Is it worth it?
Bath Treatments -Bath and Body Works - Sea Island Cotton
MomColors 4/17/2008 1:06:00 AM
Ooooh, I've loved this fragrance since the first time I found it. Just purchased the bubble bath for my daughter. She wants a bath every night now! I hope she saves some of this bubbly bath for me, lol. It's light and clean. It could be a little more moisturizing but hey htat's what cream is for righ?
Ugh this brand is so gimmicky. I hate their presentations on QVC. You'd think Philosophy and Bare Minerals were the first to invent quality cosmetics. This is nothing special just a heavily marketed product in a giant jar. It's ok, not bad, not good, just so-so.
I use this all the time especially if I go somewhere special. It has good volumizing with staying power. Only downsides are I can't find it anymore, the price and it's a bit sticky.
I don't know why they call this Moisture Lipstick. I haven't seen anything moist about it. It settles into the lines in my lips. This doesn't happen with my Sally Hansen lip diamonds gloss (of course not) or my everyday lipstick from Prescriptives. It's not the worst for a ds product but not what I like in a lipstick.
Fragrances -Trish McEvoy - #3 Snowdrop and Crystal Flowers
MomColors 4/17/2008 12:42:00 AM
Yes I can and do buy this fragrance. This is my signature fragrance. I love it. I've been wearing it for about 10 years now. I am no perfume expert so I won't pretend to tell you it smells floral-wise. To me it smells like I just got out of the shower. It's clean and light and sweet smelling. It's the opposite of musk It has staying power too. And the bottle lasts forever. One of the last cosmetics I can say that about.
Self Tanners -Victoria's Secret - Bare Bronze Daily Glow Moisturizer
MomColors 4/15/2008 10:24:00 PM
I am new to the self tanning world. This product goes on easily and safely with no streaking, I am using it on my face. The shade is light. It is very subtle so I can see where I need more the next day without some glaring demarcation line. I tried out the medium/deep and that was an oops. I have this self tanner patch on my hand that ends at the knuckles. It happened within an hour of testing it out. So if you are light to medium I would suggest sticking with the Light shade and then moving onto the medium deep once your tan is developed. Bonus buy for me it was part of the $10 promotion!!!!! Update - 2 days later: It faded quickly and I don't like how my pores look so I don't want to keep putting it on over and over again.
Other -Unlisted Brand - Listerine Whitening Strips

I am using this with Crest Vivid white. In 2 days my teeth look white. Not like 3 shades lighter but this combination is removing years of staining from diet coke. I will be buying this again.
I really think the reviews on makeup alley fall into 2 categories. Those under 40 and those over 40. I love this shampoo. It is soooo silky. Makes my hair feel "healed." I've been home coloring for about 6 years now and my hair is fryed. I love the way this shampoo feels without being heavy and weighing my hair down.
Styling Products -Ojon - Conditioning Volumizing Foam
MomColors 4/15/2008 8:23:00 PM
I thought this worked as advertised. It made my hair feel "volumized" without weighing it down. I am a little down on the price though and would like to find something a bit more economical which is why I said I'm not buying it again.
Love this masque and the price. Leaves my skin soooo soft. And not drying at all which most clay masques do.
Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
MomColors 4/15/2008 2:01:00 AM
Another product I LOVED from Stila. Woweeee. This is better than Lancome tinted moisturizer. How did they come up with this? It goes on perfectly. Does not settle in my 40-year old pores. My far-medium complexion was perfectly matched. I think the price is terrific for color and moisture in one product. I think more of you young ladies need to skip the primer and foundation route and try the tinted moisturizers for daily use. They've come a long way. At my age with sun damage I need a foundation but I hate the way they go on my face. Tinted moisturizers are goof proof. I love them.
