Makeup Brushes -Stila - #24 Double-sided illuminating powder brush
KBaylie 5/17/2010 4:12:00 AM
This is a great brush. Extremely soft and picks up powder very well. I paid only $10 for this at Sephora, because they were getting rid of it. It has many uses.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray

This smells really yummy, but I'm not really sure if this is protecting my hair. My hair feels dryer since I've been using this. I guess its back to Biosilk.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - SS150 Large Powder Brush
KBaylie 5/16/2010 2:56:00 AM
This brush does not pick up enough powder or distribute it evenly. I don't have the MAC 150 so I cannot compare the two, however, I have the two other powder brushes which are the MAC 134 and the Smashbox #1 brush, and those two brushes are superior to the SS150. I would not buy this brush again. Update on 08/10/10: I have to say, I love the travel size version of this brush. I love the way it applies blush!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - SS168 Large Angled Contour Brush
KBaylie 5/16/2010 2:49:00 AM
This brush doesn't compare to the MAC 168 at all. They are two entirely different brushes, although they look exactly the same. I've had my MAC 168 for over six years and it still looks and feels brand new. Personally, for me it is all about quality vs. quantity since the Sigma SS168 isn't sold individually and only comes in a brush kit. The bristles don't feel the same. Although the Sigma SS168 is soft, the MAC 168 is much softer. Moreover, I find that the MAC 168 picks up color better and has better color placement then the Sigma SS168.

Hair Styling Tools -Solano - HAI Convertable Flat Iron
KBaylie 5/15/2010 4:14:00 AM
Edit on 05/06/12: This flat iron is the equivalent of a drugstore flat iron. Over time it made my hair look lifeless and fried. And, it broke after 2 years! I won't buy another HAI flat iron again.
Edit on 03/17/11: I still like this flat iron, but I don't love it anymore. It dried out my hair over time and it doesn't heat up as much as it did before. For the price I paid, I expected a lot more.
I LOVE this flat iron! It used to take me forever to do my hair, but with this, 5 minutes max and I'm done. I love that it doesn't make my hair stick straight or take the body away from my hair. Its great. I've used to infamous Chi, and I like this better. Great deal, and I hope it lasts forever!

Hair Styling Tools -Unlisted Brand - Hot Tools - Ceramic Titanium Professional Curling Iron
KBaylie 5/15/2010 4:10:00 AM
I have three of these curling irons in different sizes and I really dislike them. I have had other people use them as well and they also said that this curling iron was "just okay." To me, it is the equivalent of a $20 curling iron that you can find at the drugstore.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - E40 Tapered Blending (was SS224)
KBaylie 5/15/2010 1:57:00 AM
I really like this brush. I did a complete eye look today using only this brush and it blended really well. I usually use the MAC 224 for blending, but this brush placed color as well as blended it out. Great brush for the price. Edit on 05/29/10: I have to lower my rating because I find that Sigma is inconsistent in quality. When I reviewed this brush, I was reviewing the travel SS224 because I thought it was the exact same quality as the full size version. I have since ordered the full size SS224, and its very scratchy, more sparse and not at all the same quality as the travel size. This is the mistake that a lot of companies make. If you want to keep your customers, your work/craftsmanship has to be CONSISTENT! This is why MAC has loyal customers. I will not buy again.

Blush -MAC - Frost Blush in Margin
KBaylie 5/14/2010 6:12:00 AM
Margin is a very unique color. I saw it on an acquaintance and immediately asked her what she had on her cheeks. She told me it was Margin by MAC, and that following weekend I went to MAC, tried it and was SOLD! It's such a pretty color, I can't describe it. I'm sure the MAC website has a description available, but if I ever lost this, I would definitely replace it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick in Shimmersand
KBaylie 5/14/2010 6:02:00 AM
I love shimmersand! I apply it to my eyelid when I feel I look a bit washed out, and it gives me the appearance of a fresh, awaken face. Also, I apply a bit of this to my cupids bow before I apply lipstick (a trick I learned from a MAC mua), and it makes my lips look more pouty! I recently visited MAC in search of another one, and they were gone. The girl who worked there told me that they are being discontinued. Booo!

Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Eye Crease Brush
KBaylie 5/14/2010 5:32:00 AM
I bought this brush because of the reviews here on makeupalley. After using it, I've concluded that it DOES live up to all the hype. I'm glad I bought this. It is a really soft brush that doesn't irritate or poke my eye area. This brush is everything I wanted the MAC 226 to be and more!

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - E30 Pencil brush (was SS219 )
KBaylie 5/9/2010 6:49:00 AM
I love this brush. I've been using this for the past two days to add a pop of color to the outer corner of my eye as well as the crease, and wow. It blends, spreads and deposits color very well. I like it better then the MAC version. The MAC version is also good, but its stiffer whereas the Sigma version is fluffier. All in all, this brush is very versatile. I only have the travel size version, but am seriously thinking of getting the full size version! This brush rocks! Edit on 05/29/10: I have to lower my rating because I find that Sigma is inconsistent in quality. When I reviewed this brush, I was reviewing the travel SS219 because I thought it was the exact same quality as the full size version. I have since ordered the full size SS219, and its very scratchy, very odd shaped compared to the travel size one I have and not at all the same quality as the travel size. This is the mistake that a lot of companies make. If you want to keep your customers, your work/craftsmanship has to be CONSISTENT! This is why MAC has loyal customers. I will not buy again.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - Travel Kit - Nice in Pink
KBaylie 4/18/2010 7:05:00 PM
I bought these brushes from Sigma's website and did a full face immediately after I got them. They did the job, however, I wish the powder brush held more powder. It doesn't distribute powder evenly enough for me to be satisfied. If I were going away for a weekend, I would NOT bring these. I'd rather bring my brush roll with my full sized makeup brushes instead.
