Lipstick -Vincent Longo - Gel-X in Time
rated 4 of 5

I got this on sale at Ulta. It was my first VL purchase and I've been extremely happy. This is a perfect nude lip for me when I do a charcoal or black smoky eye. My only complain is it doesn't last very long on the lips, but this is a minor setback. Considering how much I use it I would definitely buy it again.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Wear Infinite Eyeshadow Duo in Mocha Buff
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 11/10/2008 4:22:00 PM

This is one of my HG eyeshadows. I've actually on my second one and I still have another back up. It's a beautiful taupe/beige duo. It's great for a neutral day look or a dressy night out because it goes with any lipstick shade. This is the duo I use everytime I'm performing onstage. It lasts all night under hot stage lights. I will seriously cry if they ever discontinue this.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - LOREAL HIP BRILLIANT SHINE LIP GLOSS in Energized
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 10/10/2008 3:39:00 PM

I bought this on clearance at Walgreens cause I wasn't happy with the lipstick I was wearing with my eyes that day and this looked like a better choice. Boy, am I glad I did! This has turned into my HG nude lippie. I just keep coming back to it. It has the perfect mix of pink and brown so that it doesn't make me look like a corpse. It doesn't last long on the lips, but I've never found a gloss that does. I just hope it's not discontinued because I would love to buy a back-up.

Sunscreen -Alba Botanica - SUN Sport Sunscreen SPF 30+
rated 5 of 5

I can't believe that no one has reviewed this yet! This stuff is awesome! Whenever I get samples of sunscreen to try I test them on my face as my moisturizer so I can see how it will react. (I can go without moisturizer, especially this time of year.) This stuff actually provided me with just enough moisture, plus didn't break my skin out. And a little goes a long way when only using it on your face. I had a .33 oz sample packet and it lasted me almost a month. It was also water-resistant as well and held up well if I did get wet. I'll definitely be buying a full-size when my regular sunscreen is gone.

Lipstick -Prescriptives - Colorscope Lipstick in Iced Plum
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 10/3/2008 8:28:00 AM

This was introduced last year in the new Fall collection. I used to work for Px and I can honestly say this is the only one of their lipsticks that lasts all day on me. The rest of their lipsticks barely last an hour. (I always hated when people asked me if the lipsticks were long-lasting, because they're not.) This is a gorgeous berry shade for a cool complexion. (I'm a PPP) It's also probably one of the closest MLBB shades I have found. I like to use this when I'm doing a sweet look with taupe, white or soft purple eyeshadows.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Taupe Star
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 10/3/2008 8:07:00 AM

I've had this eyeshadow for YEARS and I can honestly say it's one of my favorites. It's a beautiful soft taupe with silver shimmer. It's one of those eyeshadows that goes with every lipstick I own. I especially love it with berry lips and cheeks. This color is definitely cool-toned so it may not look good on darker skintones. (I'm a PPP) It's discontinued now, but if you love taupes, this is one you definitely need to hunt for and purchase. You won't regret it!

Gels/Soaps -Crabtree & Evelyn - Goatmilk Triple-Milled Soap
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 9/18/2008 7:02:00 PM

This is one of my favorite C&E soaps. The scent is very fresh and clean. (But the other products, like the lotion don't smell nearly as well.) The soap is nice and moisturizing. It's even very gentle. My DH who has extremely sensitive skin with eczema on his face can use this without any problems. I've even used it as a facial soap before myself. Will definitely continue to purchase.

Toners -Kiehls - Yerba Maté Tea Toner
rated 1 of 5
Jubilee 8/30/2008 5:40:00 PM

Eh, this did nothing for my combo skin. It didn't really cleanse very well. And a few days after I starting using this, a had small red bumps starting on my forehead and chin. Too expensive considering it didn't do anything.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Chai shower gel
rated 1 of 5
Jubilee 8/30/2008 5:36:00 PM

Through a generous swap, I received about 20 bottles of Lush shower gels to try. This was the first one I tried, and I was not impressed. (Although I'm really liking The Olive Branch!) It really didn't do anything for my skin, moisturizing or cleansing-wise. It was just kinda average. Except for the smell. I can accept that it smelled nothing like chai tea. This is what I think it smells like: Ever been to one of those pioneer recreation villages? With some log cabins, blacksmith, school and general store? This smells exactly like what the general store always smelled like. A mix of woodsmoke, pine tar, and spices. It's not a bad smell, just not a smell I'd want to be washing my body in. For that reason, I won't re-purchase.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Smackers in Bubble Gum
rated 4 of 5
Jubilee 8/23/2008 8:30:00 AM

Oh, the memories! I had (and still do) quite a few of these things growing up. Bubble Gum is one of the truest scents in the bunch. Makes my lips shiny and glossy. Doesn't really do a great job of moisturizing my lips, so I subtracted one lippie for that. Funny story about this though. When I was about 11 or 12, my parents bought each of us a LipSmacker to put in our Easter baskets. My sister got the Bubble Gum one. Back then *real* bubble gum came in all sorts of containers, shapes and sizes. It smelled so much like the real thing, I twisted the balm up and took a big chomping bite out of it. Yeeeeeuck!I learned my lesson that Bonne Bell is for wearing, not for eating!!!

Mascara -Kiss Me - Kiss Me Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Jubilee 7/26/2008 11:28:00 AM

I actually like this product. IF I use it with Lancome's Cils Booster XL primer first. Then I get a great everyday mascara look that lasts all day. Otherwise my lashes look paper-thin and spidery. A lot of people have complained about removal but I wash my face in a warm bathtub every night so this hasn't been an issue for me. I just suds up with my regular facial cleanser, rinse and then I "rub" my lashes between my fingers and the tubes pull right off, no scrubbing required.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Iced tea twist three in one [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Jubilee 7/26/2008 11:06:00 AM

This was pretty good stuff. Smelled just like a glass of iced tea sweetened with lemon. It cleanses nicely, rinses easily and doesn't dry out my skin. I also love it as a bubble bath. I finally realized this shower gel's greatness when I realized my DH, who usually REFUSES to use shower gel, had been using it for over a week. (If the bar soap is gone, he'll just go without soap, vs. using a shower gel.) So you can imagine my pleasure and surprise at this! So this is definately a great product in my eyes. I took off one lippie though, because it's been discontinued by BBW. (Stupid BBW!)

Moisturizers -Mario Badescu - Orange Protective Cream
rated 4 of 5
Jubilee 7/21/2008 5:02:00 PM

I have normal/combo skin that's dry in winter and oily in summer. And this moisturizer was actually really nice for me. I was afraid that sampling it in the summer vs. the winter that it would be too greasy for me. But it made my skin soft and smooth and gave it a great velvety appearance. I only used a sample pot of it, but I would buy a full-size.

Blush -Maybelline - Brush Blush Plushed Plum
rated 5 of 5
Jubilee 7/17/2008 5:07:00 PM

I forgot how much I love this blush. It's very dark in the pan, as some previous reviewers have mentioned, but it goes on much more sheer. It gives me a perfect rosy, doll-like cheeks. I swear sometimes when I wear this it looks like the models at fashion shows. This may become one of my staples among my 50+ blushes. It's that good.

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O
rated 4 of 5
Jubilee 7/11/2008 8:50:00 AM

I like to wait till I finish a product, sample or otherwise, before posting a review. Especially since in the case of this facial oil I didn't realize how much I loved it till it was gone. I experienced some minor breakouts with this but nothing too severe. This made my skin super soft. (My mom called it "baby-butt smooth".) It washed away every trace of makeup. I was especially impressed by how it practically dissolved waterproof mascara. I took off one lippie for the price because it's highly expensive, and I'm not sure if I'll pay that for a face wash. I got my bottle as gratis when I worked at Nordstrom. But it's up there in my Top 4 face washes. (Philosophy Purity, St. Ives Alpha Hydroxy, Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil).
