Shampoo -Philip Kingsley - itchy flaky scalp shampoo
Anitag 3/29/2009 12:10:00 PM
This used to be a HG for me but as with all scalp condition shampoos after a while (if you don't rotate them) they stop working. This was ok as long as i used it with the scalp tonic for Itchy scalp. It did more for the itching than the flakes - both contain pirotone olamine. Since then I have found L'orel anti-dandruff with salanium sulphide does a much better job and costs a fraction of the price, however it does strip your hair colour a bit whereas the PK is safe for coloured hair. I do still use this now and then but I don't think I would buy it again.

Fragrances -Moschino - Funny!
Anitag 3/18/2009 7:54:00 PM
The bottle for this is simply adorable (I got the 25ml) very tactile I just like holding it! This to my nose on first spray smells similar to Light blue as most have mentioned and also Eclat d'arpege. I personally do not like Eclat DP as I find it too strong and overpowering in the opening and for some odd reason makes me feel sick and dizzy - this could have something to do with the lilac top note. LB I find, to be better but a little too sweet, that and the fact it's been worn to death by so many, has just tuned me away from it. Funny! has diffrerent top notes to both these perfumes it's the base notes ceder, amber and musks which the 3 share. Funny! I find is the more subtle of the 3 and drys to a tea note that is just less harsh on me, I also smell the bitter orange note. I got this cheap, so no complaints, worth getting if you don't like LB (but want something in that fragrance group) and want something for eveyday office wear that won't suffocate those around you.

I had tested it prior and thought it was ok, but now I just find it too sickly sweet on me. Another waste of money, packaging is very nice though!

Fragrances -Burberry - Summer 2009
Anitag 3/9/2009 4:21:00 PM
Bought this today. It's basically the same as the summer 2008 limited edition but the bottle is slightly different, same shape but it has a red tinge to the bottom half - I think, very cute. The perfume shop I got this from said it only came in this week and as soon as I saw the bottle I thought it's really eye catching. I was going to get the Burberry summer fragrance last year but didn't then it sold out. As for the juice, well it's definitly sharp at first but this dries down (on me anyway) to a a kind of soft woodsy scent which I quite like. It's not my HG perfume or anything and I would not re-purchase. Edit; lasting power is not very good, more like a body spray! Testers always seem to be stronger than the one you end up purchasing, took it back and got a refund - even the SA said the tester smelled stronger.

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head After Party
Anitag 2/27/2009 9:14:00 AM
I bought this for the purpose of taming my static hair after blowdrying and straightening, and also for taming the hairs that stick up around my crown area due to breakage. However this didn't do anything for either. The smell is ok but can be a bit over-powering. I wouldn't buy this again (also due in part for the fact it will take me years to finish!). My hair is naturally really thick, naturally dry, wavy, very pouffy and course, its now finer, mainly due to Japanese straightning, which I have done once a year. However when I get re-growth I use a lot of heat on the crown area hence the reason I get breakage around that area. I had high hopes for this stuff and decided to buy it instead of manipulator which was also recommended. Disappointed that I paid so much and it didn't really do much except makes my hair a little less poufy. The only thing that seems to make a difference to my hair is Yuko starightening and since having that done for the past 4-5 years, I spend less on stying products and my hair looks a lot more healthy than in it's natural state - I'd rather save my money and spend on that, will I ever learn? Probably not!

Shampoo -Wella - System Professional Remove Shampoo
Anitag 2/8/2009 3:41:00 PM
I used this for about 4 weeks and it worked a treat' my hair felt soft and silky and the color was fading less (it was recommended by my hairdresser) and I wasn't getting any flakes. I have a very sensitive scalp and have to use shampoos that do not irritate my scalp or make it itch. However after 4 weeks all of a sudden I noticed that my hair was falling out. When I washed it loads was falling and at work I would notice it on my clothes, in fact everywhere! Everyones hair falls out naturally, but this was a joke. I then noticed that my head started itching like crazy and I had large amounts of flakes. I then reverted back to my L'oreal with salanium S (?) and low and behold after 2 washes my hair is not falling out by the handful and my scalp is no longer itching. Considering that the Wella SP shampoo is nearly x4 the price of the L'oreal one I just can't quite believe it what it did to my hair! Do not recommend, damaged my hair and scalp and a waste of money (I wouldn't even give it 1 lipstick, but had to for review to post).

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Black Raspberry Vanilla
Anitag 2/4/2009 8:31:00 PM
Bought this unsniffed (I'll never learn!) and I wish I hadn't. It's quite sweet but with a slight sharpness to it - the raspberry, I suppose. It smells quite fruity and 'sherberty' on me and it's also very strong. I do not really go for sweet fragrances at all and don't envisage wearing this that often. This is only the second BBW fragrance that I have purchased, the other being grapefruit (which was too sweet also) and I don't think I'll buy anymore!

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Inis Cologne - the Energy of the Sea
Anitag 1/30/2009 11:02:00 AM
I bought this without smelling (will I ever learn?), after reading the recs from here On me this smells fresh but a little too masculine for my liking. It is a unisex scent so i'm going to give it to my husband. It was fairly cheap in the perfume shop, it came with a body lotion and showergel, God knows what I'm going to do with them! Sorry but not for me. This also smells very sililar to a M&S fragrance called ISIS, which is cheaper and smells better in my opinion.

Fragrances -Banana Republic Beauty - Classic for women
Anitag 12/29/2008 3:27:00 PM
Bought this today at the Regent Street London store. The set with the body lotion was on sale and since this had got such high ratings on MUA, I sprayed it once and thought not bad. So as per usual, I bought it. However after shopping for 10 mins or so I smelled it again and it was getting sweeter by the minute and starting to give me a headache (too florely), by the time I was about to leave the store I deciede to get a refund! Yes, this is a very clean soapy scent and the staying power was very good, however the musk in the dry down is not really my cup of tea, I'm more of a citrus girl, thank God I realised this in time!

Fragrances -Perfumeria Gal - Agatha Ruiz de la Prada - Agua - Water
Anitag 12/28/2008 4:42:00 PM
Got this un-tested from a fragrance outlet for about £12. This is by a Spanish designer called Agatha de la Ruiz. I tend to go for citrus based fragrances that are very fresh smelling and that is how I would describe this one. Notes according to her website, Top notes lime, mandarin orange and bergamot; middle notes coriander, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and narcissus; base notes amber, patchouli, cedar and white musk. When I first sprayed it I though God another waste of money! But a few weeks later I tried it on and later in the evening I caught a whiff of somthing fresh and realised it was this. In the first instance it's sharp but calms down. I don't usually like patchouli however in this juice it works well combined with the other notes. The bottle is interesting, supposed to be shaped like a tear, but the lid is not really practical. Like the review below says, a nice everyday fragrance.

Lip Treatments -Vaseline - rosy lips
Anitag 11/28/2008 9:26:00 AM
I must have spent spent an absolute fortune on lip balms. I'm always on the lookout for something that manages to moisturize my lips without drying them out afterwards. I've tried all the ususal brands high end and low end and was really pleased with the results of this one. I already have the Vaseline intensive in therapy (in the tube) but that dried my lips out! This was cheaper and the almond and rose oils in it are really moisturizing. The color, I would say is more cosmetic and doesn't really show up at all on my lips. I would definitley recommend this one.

Styling Products -TiGi - S-Factor Heat Defender - Flat Iron Shine Spray
Anitag 3/22/2008 11:04:00 AM
Flaming heck! This stuff's brillient. I have very damaged processed hair, however I still like to iron the ends. Well this makes your hair come out like you've had it done at a salon. I got it based on the great reviews on MUA, trust me I was not dissapointed. This is quite expensive and I don't know if there's a similar product on the market that's cheaper, but I woud definitely repurchase. Do not use on your roots otherwise your hair will end up greasy (unless you wash it everday).

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Nectarine Blossom and Honey
Anitag 3/20/2008 6:09:00 PM
I had high hopes for this scent. All I can say, after testing it at the Jo malone store in Brook Street (London), thank god I didn't buy it! Even the SA said that it didn't smell that great on me! It's got this peachy fizz sort of smell which just made me feel sick by the end of the day. Which brings me onto the lasting power, on me is still going strong 10 hours later and only after 1 spritz on the wrist, hence the 2 marks. it seems that the only JM's which I like are Verbenas of provence (my near enough HG fragrance) and French lime blossom, which I mix with the verbenas. I think I'll stick with them, NB&H just isn't for me.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Orange Blossom
Anitag 3/19/2008 5:05:00 AM
I got this in one of the fragrance combining sets. I find that this smells very odd on me and I get this 'sick' note which I can't really describe. I looked at the list of ingrediants on the Jo malone website and when it said water lilly, I thought that's it! To my nose water lilly just smells horrible on me and ruins the orange part, which is a shame because it also has Syringa in the base, which I really like. Would not purchase, however I do sometimes combine it with my all time favourite JM Verbenas of provence, and that takes away some of the stench. Unfortunately the staying power is good for me.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - White She
Anitag 3/14/2008 11:22:00 AM
This is now called red I think, I understand that profits from this are going to Aids awareness. This is a very clean and light smell which is very fresh. It also has fig in it somehwhere and doesn't contain anything like the oceanic notes that a lot of 'fresh' fragrances have. The advertising blurb states that it supposed to be like 'cotton on the skin'. The SA told me this was the new version of Armani White, more green. It has no staying power whatsoever on me!, but I still like it.
