Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance - Vivid Berry
sweetsmell 3/25/2004 1:05:00 PM
The best shade of the line if you're a fan of bright pinks or fuchsias. It's one of the more pigmented in the line, and it is quite simply a beautiful bright pink that makes your lips looked kissed with color. It's great if you are someone who wants some bright color but is afraid to go full-coverage (I'm not, but this still has enough color to satisfy me). If you like some of MAC's sheer lipsticks like Pink Poodle or Plum Dandy, check this out. I should mention that it is infused with glitter, but it adds shine rather than adding an obviously glittery look. A big hit!

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance - Confetti

Oh how I love this! A shame it is LE. It is a nearly sheer pink base infused with tons of glitter. (If you're not into glitter, don't even go near it!) This will look gorgeous with just about anything. Such an original shade for Clinique. Love it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance - Cherry Quartz
sweetsmell 3/25/2004 12:55:00 PM
Cherry Quartz is one of the more pigmented shades of this line. It's a medium-toned red with a decidedly pink undertone; if you have a tendency to turn lipsticks pink, this will definitely turn on you (I do not, yet on me it turned to a slightly deep fuchsia, which is fine!). It's got some moderate glitter which merely adds high shine as opposed to looking disco ball. A very pretty shade.

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Bare Brilliance Lipstick
sweetsmell 3/25/2004 12:52:00 PM
These are nice. The colors are extremely sheer, but not so sheer that you'll be applying in vain trying to get some pigment out of them. Several shades are infused with glitter, but it's not overt or obnoxious and instead adds a nice shine. Not drying at all, and the wear is pretty good for a shiny sheer lipstick (though you'll have to reapply if you wish to keep a deeper pigmentation on your lips). There's a nice range of colors, definitely something for everyone. Also completely unscented, as per the usual for Clinique. These are great for a soft, "want color on the lips but not full coverage" look.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Bronze Shimmer
sweetsmell 3/25/2004 12:30:00 PM
A fabulous color! While the shimmer doesn't tend to show up very strongly, the color is terrific for my blue eyes. Anytime I have worn it I've noticed it made them look larger, in a nice way. (Try pairing it with a navy or dark blue mascara!) I always love the gel liners, and I hope this color is made part of the permanent line in the near future.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Rock Star
sweetsmell 3/16/2004 12:01:00 PM
Smells delicious! When I first got it home and unwrapped it, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, because the bar quickly scented the entire bathroom and surrounding vicinity. However, this faded after a few hours, and now it's just great. Reminds me of cotton candy, vanilla, and a little bit of bubble gum. Lathers well and is just plain fun to use. My first LUSH experience, and it's a good one!

Lips -The Body Shop - Liquid Lip Color - 13 Pearly Pink
sweetsmell 3/13/2004 1:22:00 PM
I LOVE this!! Was in a store the other day and spotted it out front on their "new products" display. It is a medium-coverage beautiful blue-toned baby pink with slightly golden shimmer. I am extremely pale and usually go for brighter colors because it keeps me from looking sickly, but this color looks great on me despite being a very soft pink. I think anyone who is pale would do well with this shade, it's so flattering! The product itself is very comfortable to wear; doesn't cake or glop-up on lips, doesn't fade immediately, and is easy to apply. The tube is very generously sized as well. Check this one out! I love it.

Lips -L'Occitane - 10% Shea butter Lip Balm for Sensitive Skin
sweetsmell 3/13/2004 1:15:00 PM
This is great. It has a slight scent, but not overwhelming; it feels moist but not greasy while on, and it definitely does soften lips and keep them from drying. Packaging is cute and convenient.

Lip Treatments -L'Occitane - Honey lip balm
sweetsmell 3/13/2004 1:11:00 PM
Oh, this was a bitter disappointment! I searched for it for weeks, finding that most L'Occitane stores considered it LE and gone forever. I finally found a few at Sephora and happily snapped one up. Unfortunately, when I got it home and tried it, the scent was overwhelming. I mean, we are talking so overwhelming that even after removing it, I could still detect the strong honey scent for hours afterward. I love scent, but not something so incredibly overwhelming. With a slight sadness, I admitted defeat, and back it went. I gave it 2 lipsticks because it was very moisturizing; were it not for that it would only receive 1. A major bummer of a product!

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmerbrick Shimmer Brick Compact (All colors)
sweetsmell 3/11/2004 1:38:00 PM
I got the original Shimmerbrick years ago, when the craze first started for them. I have always liked it because it can give me a nice bronze glow without looking dirty or weird. I'm ghost pale so most stuff can look pretty stupid on me, but the Shimmerbricks never do. And the different colors within it are great because you can apply all of them and then use the lighter shades to highlight. Love the Shimmerbricks!

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Pink Shimmerbrick Shimmer Brick
sweetsmell 3/11/2004 1:30:00 PM
Got this as a gift; it is so pretty. It's very good for a super paleface like me because it doesn't overwhelm the face with too much pink or red, yet it does give a healthy and pretty glow. I love the Shimmerbricks.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lube in a Tube
sweetsmell 3/10/2004 11:54:00 AM
Cute packaging, cheap price, but unfortunately the product is a disappointment. There's too much mint or something irritating because it burned my lips like crazy. Also had an unpleasant taste. Cheap as it was, this went back to the store. Too bad, it could have been a good idea.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 194 concealer brush
sweetsmell 3/7/2004 10:16:00 AM
This is a terrific brush! You know how, if you put concealer on with your fingertip (and I know we've all done it), you feel like you're not getting coverage? Viola, problem solved with this brush. The bristles are just firm enough to pack the concealer on the offending area, yet you can also use it to blend out so it looks natural. It's super.

Lipstick -Chanel - Hydrabase Creme Lipstick- Pink Sugar
sweetsmell 3/5/2004 12:01:00 AM
Got this in an adorable mini-sample. Normally I'm stuck on my reds and bright fuchsias, but this color is beautiful on me and has received quite a few compliments since I received it mere days ago. It's a medium-toned mauve rose pink infused with pink and silver shimmer. Smells like roses (really, just like a discontinued line of Bourjois'). I would actually be tempted to buy a full-size tube once the sample runs out, which I actually think will happen!

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes - Mirage
sweetsmell 3/4/2004 12:32:00 AM
Had to ask around at several stores before I found this one, and I'm glad I did. It is a beautiful reddish-pink color which makes the lips look healthy. It's infused with lots of gold shimmer, and it has my favorite tube scent, which is the fruity Candy Corn type. Too bad it's discontinued, although Bolole is your closest bet if you are mourning the loss of the wonderful Mirage.
