New favorite mascara. I have not experimented with a new mascara in a while, for the past year I have been using the Maybelline One by One, which I still love, but lately I have been wanting something a little more "dramatic". So I decided to shake things up, and I bought this instead of my regular mascara. I am so glad I did! It does exactly what it says: VOLUME! It really makes my lashes look a lot darker, and thicker, and draws a lot of attention to my eyes. Some people find the fat, thick wand a bit difficult to use, but I love it! Makes application quick and easy, which is what I need in the morning when I am getting ready for school. This mascara is totally worth a try, girls.
The quad as a whole is nothing amazing for me, its pretty average, most of the colors didn't "wow" me. BUT on the top right corner of this quad, there is this cool-toned matte taupe shade that is just so lovely! I LOVE it for daytime. I apply this on my lid, then put a dark matte brown shade in my outer V and tada! Perfect day time smokey eye. I wish ELF would sell that color in a single or something, but I love the color so much I think I will order 10 of those teeny palette's just for that shade. The greens are OK, not amazing. The gold right underneath the taupe is nice too. But that taupe is just awesome! It's like a matte version of the lid color in the WnW trio called "Silent Treatment". If you have this palette, definitely try that taupe over a white base (I like the Maybelline 24 hour cream shadow in "too cool")
I LOVE this eyeliner! One of the best crayon/pencil liners I have ever used. It doesn't crease, which is a biggy for me because I feel ALL pencil liners crease. I love the convenient twist-up packaging. I got this in the color "Hidden Treasure", which is a dark brown with gold flecks in it. It really compliments my eyes. Has great pigmentation. Even though I feel it is a bit pricey for an eyeliner, I think I would definitely repurchase :D
Overall Rating: 4/5 Although I really like this brush, I understand why it has a lot of negative reviews. Yes, it is very scratchy, yes, it does shed a lot, yes, it is a tad bit too small. BUT it really is a awesome brush. It is very dense and its perfect for the Pur Minerals 4 in 1 foundation. Its actually just great for any pressed powder. The reason the bristles are a bit sharp is because it is meant for milling the pressed powder into a lose powder, making it easier to dispense the product onto your face. I also find that i dont wast as much product with this brush; most brushes I feel suck in a lot of the product, but not this brush! It puts all the powder onto my face. I also like that it is small, it makes it easier to travel with. Even though this brush has a few technical issues, I really like it! :)
Lip Gloss -Pur Minerals - Pout Plumping Lip Gloss - Pearl Dust
admilly101 5/16/2012 7:27:00 PM
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 I LOVE THIS STUFF! It is the prettiest lip gloss I have ever tries. The color is so beautiful and rich- its like a deep rose-gold color. I cant express how well this shade compliments my skin tone (I am NW25 in MAC, Sand Beige in Revlon CS, Golden Medium in Pur Minerals foundation). But the one problem I have with it: ITS $16!!! That is WAAAY more than I am willing to pay for a lip gloss (I got it as a gift). I do love it, and I probably will use it everyday... If it lasts me a long time, I will consider repurchasing. As far as the "plumping" goes: Nada, zilch, zip, nope. No plumping going on haha. But I wasn't expecting it to anyway!
UPDATE: Yeah, this did not control my oil very well without primer. Still a 4/5, just not for me! ***** Overall Rating: 4.5/5 So I had to delete my old review and rewrite it, because I realized I reviewed the original Pur Minerals formula AND the one with "added skin care ingredients". THIS review is for the original formula. At ULTA, they only sell the formula with the skincare ingredients in it, yet they tell you it's the original formula in "new packaging". This is false. That formula SUCKS, BUT the original one is.... Amazing. This foundation has beaten all others. Why? Let me tell you: -Medium-Full flawless, beautiful, natural, amazing coverage. It just looks like I have beautiful skin, not like I am wearing tons of product. I don't even need concealer. -IT ACTUALLY LASTS! While the "skincare ingredients" formula gets VERY oily, and I would not advise us oil slick girls to get that one, the original does a really good job at keeping me matte. I could actually go all day without blotting, although I do occasionally just because I can. I put it on at 6:40AM, stays matte untill 12:00PM, and is still there when I come home around 4:00PM. That is a total of 9 hours, girls -I do have one thing to say about application: YOU NEED that chisel brush! Although I love my ELF flat top powder brush, it doesn't give me the flawless coverage the chisel brush does. Its sharp bristles pick up a lot of product and it won't waste any of it. Application is such a breeze. I just swirl the brush in the powder, buff it in and TADA! Foundation done. -Does not irritate my sensitive, acne prone skin. The one con I have is the price. But this product is so amazing, I am willing to fork over the almost $30 for it. I need this stuff. My life is complete with it.... For now
Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Eye Booster Lash Boosting Felt-Tip Eyeliner Serum

So I bought this expecting to make eyeliner a little easier to do in the morning, not so much expecting for my lashes to actually grow. It is not quite as easy as I thought it would be to use, but once you figure out the right technique, its great! Lasting power is not as great as some liners, it tends to crease towards the end of the day which is disappointing. You need 2 coats to get a thick, black line. Makes wings a teeny bit easy with a more precise application. NOW, onto the good stuff: Idk if it is just me going crazy, but I actually have noticed a difference in my lashes! They do look fuller and healthier than usual! :D So although this liner isnt great for lasting power, it does make my lashes look great!
This definitely needs more reviews. This is one of the best blushes I have ever used. I don't use bronzer much because I find that contouring looks silly on me due to my dark acne scars, but this is great because its a blush, but its got some bronzey earthy tones in it so it warmes up my face. It really compliments my light-yellow undertoned skin!
Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
admilly101 4/10/2012 9:42:00 PM
This is a GREAT setting powder. It totally keeps my oil under control without looking chalky, cakey, dry, or any of that awfulness. I do need to touch up through out the day though, but I don't mind that very much because I always have to do that with all powders!
No, no, no.... It accentuated all the lines on my lips, made them look chalky and dry, just NOT my cup of tea... Sorrily disappointed :/
Foundations -Sephora - Mineral Double Compact SPF 10
admilly101 4/10/2012 9:27:00 PM
*UPDATE* I now give it a 2/5. It made me so extremely oily, its crazy. Although it had good coverage when you put it on at first, it totally melts to nothing. EW. * * * Overall Rating: 3.5/5 So I don't hate this. But It's not amazing. I got this in D25 which fits me perfectly right now, but I should have probably gotten a shade darker though because summer is approaching! (I am in shade Sand Beige in Revlon CS, NC25 in MAC). The coverage is pretty decent for a mineral makeup, light-medium. DO NOT try to build to full because you will look caked up. I also do not recommend using too much concealer underneath because I find that the powder sorta bunches up over the concealer. Lasting power isn't great, lasts about 4 hours. Not best at controlling oil. I will still keep this because it does give me a natural, medium coverage, semi-matte finish, plus it's compact and I can travel with it. I will probably go return it and get a shade darker though. P.S., It didn't break me out, which is a plus :)
Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
admilly101 4/10/2012 9:22:00 PM
EDIT: Ok, so I think I get what is so magical about this now. It really is that lid color. It's so unique and alluring. Its like, taupe/grey./lilac. It's pretty weird, but it works! * * * Is there something that i'm missing here...? I hate to rain on this parade, but this palette just didn't dazzle me. I love all the WnW palette's because their shadows are so pigmented and vibrant; this one is the only exception. It's not terrible, but this combination of shades just don't suit eachother. When blended together it kinda just looks like this "murkey water" smokey eye. Although all the colors are beautiful on their own (especially that unique taupe shade), I was not impressed :/ Must go back and buy my "Walking on Egg Shells" palette- My fav!
So this is not amazing, but it will due. It removes most of my eye makeup EXCEPT my mascara (non waterproof kind). Other than that, its just an average eye make up remover :) Try the Simple Facial Wipes!
Ok, can I just begin by saying I LOVE this? Pros: -Removes all my foundation (Revlon Colorstay, which is known for being difficult to remove!) -Does not irritate my skin, not too rough -Does not leave a weird, soapy residue like other facial wipes do. Just makes me skin feel clean and fresh! -Affordable -25 wipes (a lot!). Cons: -None :)
I LOVE THIS PALETTE! Pros: -The shadows are very pigmented -It has a very nice range of shades -I got it for cheaper than it would usually be on hautelook (I guess thats only a pro for me! XD) Cons: -Not a fan of the big, bulky, unnecessary packaging. Price: $30 on hautelook Would I buy again? No, because I dont think I would need to!
