Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expertwear eye shadow in Creme de Cocoa
ubaydah 9/1/2009 10:48:00 PM
i would repurchase this forever! i was on the lookout for a matte eyeshadow i could contour my nose with and was planning to drop by mac. but one day at zellers i saw this for $3 and noticed it was the colour i was looking for and MATTE (so hard to find with drugstore lines) so i took it home and love it. highly pigmented, creamy, smooth, easy to blend, long lasting and CHEAP! so glad i didn't walk into mac.. i dont like the packaging tho cuz it fell off my dresser and the lid came off. but newho i use this to contour my nose and sometimes in my crease.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expert Wear Single - Antique Jade
ubaydah 9/1/2009 10:44:00 PM
Love, love, love this! i was so impressed with maybelline after this. this eyeshadow is amazing! it's super pigmented, super smooth to apply, lasts long, and is as vibrant as any mac eyeshadow i have but for like a VERY tiny fraction of the price. i get compliments from left, right and center when i wear this. such a beautiful jewel green. it looks great on my yellow toned skin. this does crease, i will admit but i my mac eyeshadows also crease without a base. i would definitely repurchase this eyeshadow and purchasing this has caused me to look into other maybelline eyeshadows! i suggest these over covergirl eyeshadows FOR SURE! i've had this for about two years and i've used plenty of times and it looks like i havent even makde a dent in it!

Makeup Brushes -Annabelle - Annabelle A-28 tapered blush brush
ubaydah 9/1/2009 10:38:00 PM
This was actually the first face brush i ever bought:D it was in grade 9 and i bought my very first blush (also Annabelle, number 48 i believe) and i needed a brush and this was actually the only blush brush they had at shoppers at the time. i STILL have it and still use it but it is not my primary blush brush. it was my primary blush brush for about 3 years. and then about a year and a half ago i realized that after three years of washes it had become a bit rough. not irritating to my face at all nor did it affect the application and reults but it WAS eating away at my Annabelle mono blush. so, i bit the bullet and i bought a QUO brush:) however, as the below reviwer mentioned the handle is a very convenient size. comfortable to hold yet small enough for my makeup bag! so i keep it in my makeup bag and it ends up only getting used maybe once a week if i'm out and its been a long day and i need to touch up my blush. works great for that. i'd definitely recommend this brush for beginners, if you're looking for something to keep around in your makeup bag or if you just want a good, cheap blush brush:)

Makeup Brushes -Quo - Powder Brush
ubaydah 9/1/2009 9:44:00 PM
Really good powder brush. If you don't want to buy mac or sephora brushes i suggest trying quo brushes. theyre a bit cheaper and of pretty good quality! and shoppers has discounts on these quo brushes at least annually so wait for a good sale. i use this brush to apply my blush. its soft and silky but not so soft and silky that it doesnt pick up any product. easy to wash and mine has maintained its shape after a few washes and i've had mine for two years. the lippy off is because this brush does shed. everytime i put on my blush i have to pick at least 1 hair off my face but its not that big a deal considering that you get a really great brush at a good price. if you're somewhat new to brush or makeup business i suggest trying quos brushes first for a few years before you delve into mac, sephora, etc. i would definitely repurchase. blends well and gets the job done and has lasted me a while!

Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Sugar
ubaydah 8/28/2009 11:16:00 PM
Sugar is my scrub of choice for my body because salt can't be used after i shave my legs cuz it cod burn! i mix about half a cup with a few teaspoons of EVOO until i get the consistency i like and scub my body in the shower once a week. it leaves my skin glowy and flake free. now i never buy expensive body shop or st. ives scrubs anymore:)

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
ubaydah 8/27/2009 11:39:00 PM
I think this stuff is terribly overrated. i've bought much cheaper drugstore foundations that were better than this. it oxidizes within an hour on my skin. i also find it hard to blend. i hadnt broken out with this but i have a few friends that did or have had increased occurence of acne. i even have a friend who swears that her and her sisters dark circles got worse after using this. anywho, i would suggest that if your looking for a REALLY good, long lasting foundation that won't oxidize or break you out then try Revlons Colorstay Foundation. its cheaper as well.

Blush -MAC - Daft Pink
ubaydah 8/26/2009 10:35:00 PM
was loooking for a good pink blush for a long time and am so glad i found this. it bright pink-purple in the container but its a very soft pink on the cheeks. and the shimmer is PERFECT! its not glittery it looks very glowy. the shimmer in it is like a pale gold so it looks great wif my nc30ish skin. i dont even have to do seperate highlighting wif this. its expensive but looks like it will last a long time. it really catches the light on your cheeks amazingly. the only bad thing about this product is i find it a little hard to blend. but still id def repurchase!

Skincare - Body -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Oil
ubaydah 8/26/2009 9:33:00 PM
Love this stuff. its dirt cheap and its the most cost effective choice for a body moisturizer. i use this all over my body after a shower and it keeps your skin soft for days. it also give your legs, arms and shoulders a really sexy glow. once a week i mix it with salt or sugar and give my body a good scrub in the shower. it smells great and really makes my skin soft and smooth. will repurchase forever!

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
ubaydah 8/24/2009 7:35:00 PM
I have combination-dry skin but big pores on my nose, forehead and a bit on my cheeks. i tried this just in those areas and it made my pores more visible and broke me out. thank God it was cheap. however the smell, cooling sensation, and colour made it pleasant to use. so if you do not have skin like me give it a try! if it doesnt work out at least it was cheap!:)

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop - Travel Brush Set
ubaydah 8/24/2009 7:15:00 PM
I absolutely LOVE this brush set. its much smaller than i thought its really only the size of your palm and it was such a life saver when i was travelling this summer. it basically has all the basic brushes you need if your going to be away. and i think if your a beginner in makeup and want a good kit to start or give as a gift then this is perfect. now that im back from travelling i still use this set. i use the blush brush for highlighting my cheekbones, down my nose and sometimes if im lasy my brow bones too:p i wouldnt really suggest it for blush because its kind of stiff but for highlighting my cheekbones or bronzer its perfect. i wish the brush were a little more fluffy to allow for a sheerer wash of colour but i just use a light hand. the eyeshadow brush is nice and stiff and good for packing on the colour its nice and thin so perfect for the inner corners of the eye, brownbone, eyelid, etc. the slanted brush i use EVERYDAY to put on my wet n wild gel eyeliner. this would have to be my fave brush from the bunch. its stiff enough to not be messy when applying the liner but soft enough to create curves and wings. the concealer/lipbrush i dont use much because i dont wear MUCH lipstick. but when i do its perfect! ive bought so many lipbrushes that end up being useless because their not stiff enough or not dense enough. i love the case and the tiny mirror though i wish it were bigger. i think this is a great bargain and would highly recommend this brush set. i was scared when i bought it that it would be a waste of money because i buy alot of brushes and end up not looking at them anymore. but the quality of these brushes is very good and its so convenient to just throw in your purse and stuff that i find i use it all the time even at home! Update: i just read that someone uses the lip/concealer brush for fluid liner too! i'm excited to try that!

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
ubaydah 8/21/2009 9:51:00 PM
Okay so recently i've been on the hunt for an HG foundation. My long time HG was loreal true match which i LOVE because its superblendable, dewy, and matches my yellow toned skin perfectly. however loreal true match looks good for the first two hours and then it creases, oxidizes, sweats off and rubs off. so by the end of the day i would look patchy and like an oompa loompa. even wif my HG primer. after trying a few foundations i stumbled across the reviews of this on MUA.. it seemed TOO good to be true. a DS foundation thats really long lasting?? so i tried this out for about a month now and i think i've worn it long enuff to review. the colour selection is great and tho i wish they had more yellow in some of their shades i guess thats what you can expect from a DS foundation. i wish the SPF was much higher. spf 6 is nothing, ladies. you need minimum spf 15 to actually make a difference. the application, well at first i didn't like it because i was so used to my super blendable loreal true match but now after using it for a while im used to it. i just do it in section using my fingers. you'll have to blend fairly quickly. the result is fairly matte skin but it doesn't at all feel like a mask or heavy. i wish it looked a little more dewy cuz i like that look but oh well. the coverage is medium buildable. unlike loreal true match or other foundations, it doesnt look cakey or obvious that you've applied a few layers. and the staying power? OMG. the HE foundations i bought for $60 CND werent as good as this. it does NOT transer, sweat off, crease, fade OR (thank God!) turn dark and orange. it looks almost as good as when you applied it that morning but you may have to touch up after a makeout session or if you've been out in the rain, sweating, etc. i love how this makes my skin look and feel. the price is a bit disappointing because its about 15 bucks canadian and wif tax thats like 20 so the same as mac studio fix. however, id def. repurchase because its one hell of a foundation. im so glad ive found my HG longwear foundation. now i can go out and not worry that my skin looks crappy due to my foundation.
