Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash
tarzina789 6/13/2010 1:50:00 PM
I bought this mascara dirt cheap and although I usually stay away from Maybelline mascaras, I wanted to try this one. I find Maybelline mascaras to be runny and not long lasting at all, but this particular one was amazing. The definition you get from this mascara is wonderful and it lengthens really well. I was very impressed with this one and it led me to believe that maybe Maybelline made their formula a little better. I'm not holding my breath though. Although this mascara was good, I would not bet on any other Maybelline mascara.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Skin Renew daily regenerating moisture lotion
tarzina789 6/13/2010 1:38:00 PM
This is an amazing moisturizer. I've been using it for a year now and I love the lightweight coverage. It doesn't make your face shiny or greasy, which is perfect for oily or combination skin. Also, it has a little sunscreen in it, which is perfect for those days where you don't spend long periods outside. It's great for when you go to work and don't walk outside too much.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:45:00 PM
I tried this mascara because of all the hype and I thought it was the most horrible mascara in the world. Usually, mascaras are pretty much the same no matter the brand, but I find Maybelline to be deficient in this category of makeup. The formula is very watery and takes forever to dry. It's practically impossible to build thickness or length in your lashes because of the runniness of the formula. Also, it doesn't stay on. If it's slightly humid or you sweat, you will end up with raccoon eyes. Definitely not cute. I'd say steer clear of this mascara. There are so many better ones on the market for the price!

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering blush in Glow
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:40:00 PM
Let me start off by saying that the color of this blush is STUNNING! Now, the packaging sucks, really bad. I got one through their website which was smashed by the time I received it. Not to worry though, I found an empty mineral container and crushed the blush so I wouldn't lose it. The color is a beautiful natural peach. The packaging is so bad though and it risks damaging the product if you're too rough. It is a ridiculous sliding container. I have no idea why anyone would design such a stupid package for a blush. I guess they were trying to be creative... Well it didn't work. And if you drop it! Forget it, the blush will break and go everywhere! The color is wonderful and reminds me of Benefit Coralista, which I've been lusting after. This is a great dupe for that without spending over $20 for a blush (which is ridiculous in my book). I recommend that if you buy this blush, expect to have to transfer it to another container. I keep a clean mineral pot and sifter around so I can transfer this blush to it. That way, I don't have to worry about the bad packaging and worry about it exploding all over the place.

Mascara -Tarte - Lights Camera Lashes
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:35:00 PM
I got this mascara as a sample and although it was very good, I can't justify spending $20+ on a mascara when all formulas are pretty much the same. That said, it was very good, and for such a price, it better be! If there is one thing I don't understand it's an expensive mascara!

Primer/ Corrector -E.L.F. - Mineral Infused Face Primer
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:33:00 PM
I've tried loads of different primers and Benefit was my favorite. ELF gives Benefit a run for its money! This primer is about a quarter of Benefit's That Gal and is so much better! Although the packaging sucks (I hate when they use clear plastic to make you think you're getting more product than you really are), it's a nice primer that makes my makeup last all day. My blushes tend to wear off on my for some reason though I don't have oily cheeks... I guess I touch my face a lot. Anyway, this primer helps them last even through humid sweaty days! For a cheapie and goodie primer like this, I'd definitely repurchase!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Stain
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:30:00 PM
I love this stain. I did buy CoverGirl's lip stains, but I didn't really like the way it made my lips feel dry. This one has a creamier application and although it doesn't last as long, I love the color payoff. While you need to layer CoverGirl, one coat of ELF and you get the color in the tube. For someone who loves pigmentation, this is perfect for me. I bought the First Date and Red Carpet. The Red shade is absolutely bombshell gorgeous and First Date is the perfect summer coral with some pink, so it will likely look good on a lot of skin tones. The tube is double sided with a clear gloss on the other end. I don't really care for this, but if you have this on the go, it allows you to carry less items in your purse, which is a plus.

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Line Eye Transformer
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:27:00 PM
If you want to quadruple your eyeshadow collection, this is the product for you. And you can do so for $3!! This quad will transform any eyeshadow you have and make you look like you're wearing a different color every time. You can even use these shades as highlighters or mix them in with other beauty products to switch up the color. If you buy a lipstick shade that is a little off, mix a little powder with it and you'll actually be able to wear it. I was quite impressed with the quality of the packaging too. Definitely a product I'd buy again!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:24:00 PM
FABULOUS BRUSH! It's so luxurious and dense and doesn't shed. It's a wonderful addition to my collection. You can use it for stippling, applying bronzer or loose powder. I thought the regular brush line was good, but the studio line really steps it up. The bristles are soooo soft and makes applying makeup feel good on your skin.

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:23:00 PM
When I saw this blush/bronzer combo, I knew it was going in my shopping cart. I saw another reviewer from Canada paid $6.99 for it. I say, it's worth paying the extra shipping on their site and get it at par! Don't pay double!! Anyway, it is a dupe for NARS. I find that the shimmer in the ELF pack is more subtle which is good for someone who doesn't necessarily love to have shiny cheeks. I would prefer it if the bronzer was matte so you can contour, but I mix it with some translucent powder and it neutralizes the shimmer so I can use it to contour. I'm quite fair and these powders are very pigmented, so someone with light skin should definitely apply with a light hand, or risk looking way too made up. It's a perfect product for summer and it's also nice to use as an eyeshadow to match up.

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:18:00 PM
I really wanted to love this product. I really did. I heard so many good things about it, but honestly, I wasn't impressed at all. I really don't see how many uses it can have. It seems to me you can only really use it as an eyeshadow or a base for another color. I find that it's much too shimmery. And if it's too shimmery for a 20 year old, how is someone older supposed to wear it on their cheeks? Ridiculous. I wasn't impressed with this, but for $1, it didn't hurt to try it.

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Studio Minty Lip Gloss
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:16:00 PM
I love the idea of a minty lip gloss so you can have fresher breath on the go. I wasn't too impressed with these though. I bought two colors: New York and Los Angeles I believe. The smell is VERY minty, like toothpaste and there is a lot of glitter in the gloss. I'm not a huge fan, but if it's finely milled glitter, I don't mind it. I'll use what I have, but I definitely won't be buying these again unless they change the potency of the smell and the amount of glitter.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Professional Bronzing Brush
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:14:00 PM
For something so cheap, you wouldn't expect a whole lot, but I was quite impressed with this brush. It doesn't shed and although the bristles aren't as soft as those of the Studio line, or MAC brushes, it was pretty decent. It's perfect as a backup or to travel with so you don't worry about losing or breaking it in your luggage. I would definitely recommend it!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Foundation brush
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:11:00 PM
I love this brush. I'd never owned a foundation brush before I purchased this one. The bristles are so soft and it allows you to apply a thin even layer of foundation on your face. I love that I can reach difficult places that I normally don't with my fingers, like the sides on my nose. The ELF brushes are amazing and I suggest you try them. Whether it's the professional ones or the more expensive Studio ones, they're amazing quality-wise!

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Complexion Perfection
tarzina789 6/12/2010 4:07:00 PM
I was extremely intrigued by this product when I saw it on the ELF site. I ordered it with a bunch of other studio items as part of their 60% off sale. So not only is it cheap at full price, you can get it for 60% off if you wait for the coupon codes to come out :) I LOVE the packaging. it looks so luxurious and expensive! The mirror is gorgeous and large which makes application a breeze. The powder itself is so smooth and soft. It gives me a lovely matte finish. My skin is combination with an oily forehead, so I like the mattefying look it gives me. It tones down redness I have on my cheeks and around my nose so I look like I have a perfect complexion! I like that the colors are separated, so you can use them for specific problems if you need to and you don't necessarily have to swirl all the colors together. I love this product so much, I already bought a few backups. I suggest you wait for the 50-60% off codes and this product will be even more worth your while and cost only 1.20 or 1.50! How amazing is that?!? As you can see I'm quite enthusiastic about it. It's the only powder that gives me a gorgeous even skin tone and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
