Treatments (Eye) -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense SPF 30 Eye Cream in Light
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 8/24/2005 4:12:00 PM

This is a really good eye cream for someone with normal skin (not too dry anyway) The hue is like a pinky/nude color and brightens up the eye area and halps even the skin tone. I like the spf 30 so I dont have to use another sunscreen that burns my eyes. Found it at Walmart for under $10...not to shabby I think. I "think" it has the slightest shimmer to it, but when it is on, I cant even see it so maybe it's just "optical diffusers" or something. Anyway, I have only worn it once so as far as fighting lines, I dont know, so I will will have to update, BUT other than that, I am really liking this!

Tinted Moisturizer -Cover Girl - Cover Girl CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
rated 4 of 5

Holy Geez! Wow! I would have NEVER EVER thought I would break down and try a drugstore spf lotion let ALONE one from Cover Girl but since I am having a great run with drugstore products to clear my face up I decided WTH why not. It's cheap and if I hate it, my mom would use it...LOVe it! The packaging says for normal to dry skin but I have oily skin and this suits me PERFECT. Not oily, not greasy, hasnt broken me out, sinks right in, I am just amazed!I got fair to light but should have gotten the next darker but since it doesnt have any coverage at all, it doesnt look weird. I do mean NOOO coverage at all. Not that a TM is supposed to cover it all but it doesnt even smooth out skintone. I use fndt anyway so the coverage isnt why I bought this. I gave up on Olay complete b/c it was pure greasy and never sank in...this does! Great d/s find! Affordable and cheap! I am sure the UVA/PPD rating on this is extremely low to the sunscreen addicts BUT I dont stress out about spf as long as I wear one then I am fine with that. Great stuff!

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 8/16/2005 3:09:00 PM

Meh...I too had been waiting for this since I loved the original so I automatically think...ULTRA must be superb! Nope, it is far more watery, less coverage and doesnt seem to last as long. The only way I can describe this is that it is a liquid fndt with the "slip" powder finish of a matte mousse fndt if that makes sense. It's weird. The original gives better longer lasting coverage, doesnt have that "slip" silicone feel, or dry to that powder finish so that when you try to use powder to set it, it cakes all up...ew. I really hope that they are not d/cing the original for this crap otherwise Lancome will lose a loyal user since I cant use any of the other fndts. For reference I am NC 20-25 and got Buff 2 but should have gotten buff 6 since the first was too light. THis is also a fndt for someone that has near perfect skin who doesnt have much to cover or very oily skin.

Cleansers -Olay - Total Effects Anti Aging Anti Blemish Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 8/9/2005 2:53:00 PM

I bought this to go along with the AAAB moisturizer I must must say they do a superb job together! This cleanser is very lightly fragranced which annoys me but I can live with it, and contains the exact same ingredients as the Age Defying cleanser only difference being that this one has more salicylic acid than the other and this one comes in a tube rather than a pump. IT is creamy and does not lather but it has very small, gentle exfoliation beads that help to remove all debris off your face. When I get out and dry my face off, my skin is very smooth and toned looking...even. I use the Olay toner and have very little makeup left on the pad so in that respect I guess it is a decent cleanser. Pair this with the moisturizer and it is really great! I think it was maybe $7 for a 5oz tube at Walmart.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects Anti-Aging Anti-Blemish Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]

I have this and the scrubby cleanser that goes with it. I can honestly say that it is freakin AMAZING stuff! My only beef with this, is the fragrance as it is an irritant, but none the less it really smooths out skin tone and clears out pores. Like the prior reviewer, I too had the worst hormonal breakout ever, since I had PMS and moved across the country...both very stressful! This is the ONLY product that has ever cleared up a hormonal breakout and in lightening speed! I dont mind at all that it was $18 at WalMart since it really works! It smoothed out my fine lines on my forhead too that I have been obsessing about for the last year! I am 26 with that stubborn skin...acne prone as hell, with fine lines starting to show and needing something to smooth out skintone without being greasy or nasty! Usually thing with BHA in it will make me break out even worse but I honestly cant say enough about htis stuff! Try it seriously, I noticed the difference when I woke up the next morning!

Powder -Lancome - Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup
rated 2 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 6/4/2005 2:50:00 PM

LMAO! OK I went to go see my derm for acne and oily skin. She asked me to make a list of everything I was using skincare and MU, with a list of all the ingredients. She took one look at the ingredient listing on this powder and started laughing! Her words "I cant believe they even sell something with such awful ingredients with the claim 'for all skintypes'" I asked her what do you mean and she told me that 6 ingredients out of the very short ingredient list were horrible acnegenic ingredients! Hence the reason for my oily/cyst ridden skin! I then did my own research and compared the list to the zerozits.com list and lo and behold the perfect recipe for horrible skin! The fragrance is so strong that it does not fade and it gets cakey. My DH even told me he thought I was wearing too much MU since he could smell it sitting next to me in the car! Ladies if you are acne prone please stay away!

Toners -Ponds - Cool Calm Perfected Pore shrinking gel toner
rated 3 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 5/28/2005 9:12:00 PM

Good concept, great ingredients...except the menthol. Takes off most MU residue BUT leaves skin feeling sticky and is hardly pore "shrinking" as that is not possible. Great packaging, pleasent smell...again except for the menthol and no breakouts thus far but will not repurchase due to the stickiness and menthol. IT doesnt burn but it is an irritant and I dont need any further aggravation on my skin. I have combo/oily skin with acne scars, large pores on cheeks and nose and very acne prone but not sensitive skin. Some of the main ingredients are water, SD alcohol 38, witch hazel, retinol palmitate(Vit A), tocopherel acetate (vit E), panthenol (VitB) white birch extract IIRC is a deriviative of salicylic acid. As for the rest of the new products in this line...a quick rundown. THe cleansing scrub is nice, but geared toward dry/normal skin and has very little "scrubbers", the night creme has glycolic acid and some oils so it's not good for acne prones (the oils anyway), the day lotion with spf 15 contains shea butter and again many oils and is just plain heavy and greasy, good for dry skin. Overall love Pond's but not the new line.

Cleansers -St. Ives - Apricot Radiance Deep Cleaning Cream Cleanser-Combination Skin
rated 3 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 5/4/2005 5:11:00 PM

Lemme start out by saying that IMO this is just like Neutrogena Deep Clean cream cleanser but with Micro beads. It isnt bad but it has these annoying beads that do nothing but get all over the place. If you want to use this as your main exfoliant I would pass. I would like this much better if it did not have those "scrubbers" and didnt contain something that feels like menthol! Other than that it does clean w/o drying. I have the combo skin and the oily skin version and they are both the same to me except this one has tea tree oil instead of salicylic acid in it.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 4/30/2005 3:26:00 PM

I have worn this for 15 yrs and now that im 30something it was making me look old. Figured i was gonna have to give it up even with trying primers, moisturizers, anything. Finally i got a bright idea to first mix it half w an acne moisturizer which also mattifies without the silicones and use it as a tinted moisturizer and treatment. Then i go back over the areas needing coverage using it plain. Voila! It doesnt look masky or old dry lady faced! And it seems to stay on longer too this way! Glad i discovered using it like this or i was going to be heartbroken divorcing my fav fndt!

Pressed Powders -Estee Lauder - AeroMatte Ultralucent Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 4/27/2005 4:12:00 PM

Wow! I am not a fan of sheer powder by any means but this stuff is pretty good! I am NC25 and I have this is warm medium. IT is very fine and looks great and non powdery when applied. It does soak up the oilies but I do have to touch up maybe 2 or 3 times throughout the day...but that's with every powder I have ever used so no biggie. Doesnt cover pores or imperfections so if that's what you wnat, it's not going to happen with this. Although it DOES seem to smooth those things out a bit. THis powder works best with other EL foundations I have figured out. Also that velvety sponge it comes with...toss it. I use my own sponge and it makes the powder go on smoother and last longer.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Futurist Foundation
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 4/27/2005 4:08:00 PM

I am a foundation junkie and have tried just about everything under the sun I do believe...had over 50 bottles of all different fndts last month! Anyway, this is a great med coverage moisturizing foundation if you can find a color match. I am NC25 and I got Bare beige which is maye a tad too dark, but with summer coming it will work. It has a nice feel going on and a natural matte finish that has decent staying power. I have norm/dry but oily skin and this helps to balance it and make the flakes from RAM not so obvious. It does NOT cover pores but doesnt really make them stand out either. I am 26 with a few fine lines and while I dont think this gets rid of them it does help to minimize the appearance of them. Over all a good fndt. Probably would repurchase unless I get bored like always.

Treatments (Eye) -Bliss Labs - All-Around Eye Cream
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 3/21/2005 2:18:00 PM

wow! I am really suprised that the ratings are down on this! I have had this for 2 days and it has taken away puffs and the fine lines are much smoother! Plus the dark circles are seeming to diminish rather well! Plus it doesnt cause me milia or any burning. Love this stuff as it has done more for me in 2 days than any other cream I have tried did in over a month!

Liquid -Shiseido - Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA+++
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 3/21/2005 2:15:00 PM

WONDERFUL! I am NC 20-25 and the color sp30 worked great for my yellow undertoned skin! I have large pores, acne scars and an oily Tzone....gone with this stuff! I use this with a brush for a more even finish and it covers everything even though it is really watery! I had this on for a full 14 hours this weekend and did not touch up one time! Still looked fresh at bedtime! You have to have an oil remover though b/c it DOES NOT come off! For $30 it's a steal! Havent broken out from this either although I do use a Rx for acne.

Pressed Powders -BeneFit Cosmetics - Get Even
rated 5 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 3/21/2005 2:12:00 PM

HOly cats! what a powder! This stuff comes in 3 shades. I am NC 20-25ish and I ended up going with shade 2. The lightest one looked like chalk to me. Anyway, I use this with a brush and it really covers imperfections, blots oil, and evens skin tone while not looking all made up. This is a heavy covering powder so I would think using a sponge would be too much...you still get full coverage with a brush! Dont let the colors throw you though b/c this is a correcting powder so it's not supposed to "match" your skin. I probably should have gotten shade 1 but since summer is coming the shade 2 will work better! Gave up my old EI powder and that says a lot!

Pressed Powders -Black Opal - Invisible Oil Blocking Powder
rated 4 of 5
talkaboutaddiction 3/12/2005 10:19:00 PM

Wow! I am not even a woman of color as I am very pale but I bought this anyway since it said it was invisible and it was actually the color in the compact of my usual MAC powder (NC25) I am really impressed by the oil control in this. I wish it had more coverage but it does make a nice oil touch up powder under my usual Enlgish Ideas powder fndt. Love this!
