Powders -Red Earth Cosmetics - pressed powder
slicedbread13 1/4/2007 10:38:00 PM
Honestly,I don't know if this stuff works very well, because I didn't give it a fair chance. The lightest color they had for my ghostly skin was WAAY too yellow,I looked sick wearing it,somewhat jaundace-y and washed it right off!And I was really looking forward to using this brand, because of all the vitamins and green tea in it!I think Red Earth should include better colors for women with pinker and paler skin in the future.Ah well...exchanged it for Lola pressed powder in French Pink and haven't looked back, lol!

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar

Hmmmm this stuff smells so yummy!I tried it at the store and was hooked on it (unfortunately for me at the time I was on a perfume kick,so I also got Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea,Ralph Lauren's Ralph, and some JLO fragrance, lol!)The smell is this gorgeous, sweet cotton candy smell, only more sophisticated (if that makes any sense.)Even the bottle is pretty!I'm not sure if I can tolerate it everyday because it's so sweet, but it is a pretty smell!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Baked
slicedbread13 1/4/2007 9:48:00 PM
My 2nd favorite color from the glitter eyeliners! This is a beautiful burnt orangish/bronze color that is just heavenly with brown eyes!I got mine in this year's holiday trio set.Everyone thought the color was ugly, intil I put some on..then they loved it!I pair this with UD e/s Sin.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Shadow Box
slicedbread13 1/4/2007 9:15:00 PM
I love my UD palette...mine is the newer one called the Ammo Shadow Box that's black with the velvet purple gun and swirlies on it!Just the outside of the box is too cute, all of my friends are envious of it,but it's what's inside that counts, right? The colors are:Smog,Mildew,Oil Slick,Last Call (gorgeous!),Chopper,Maui Wowie (one of my favs),Shattered,Polyester Bride,Grifter, and Sin.Some people might think that $34 is too much to spend on a cute little box with 10 eyeshadows in it,but I don't think so.UD is the best!

This stuff ROCKS!! I've always loved UD eyeshadows,so I bought the Primer Potion for my New Years party.I have the OILIEST lids in the history of the world, and this stuff kept my eyeshadow looking as fresh as when I first applied!Lasted all night long, even the day after!Plus the cute little purple genie bottle it comes in is ADORABLE!Awesome stuff!

Brows -Clinique - Superfine Liner for Brows
slicedbread13 1/2/2007 10:02:00 PM
This stuff works pretty well {I own it in deep brown.}Not OMG great,but well enough.First and most importantly,the liner color is a BELIEVABLE brown,not fake and too red or orangy like most eyebrow pencils.{I was using Rimmel's eyebrow pencil in Hazel intil I saw the slight reddish-orange tint in pictures.}This was a little expensive...at $13,I felt it was a little pricey compared to my beloved Rimmel at $2.The liner is VERY tiny...it takes a little practice and a good hand to get good brows.And you don't have to ever sharpen it..YAY!Staying power is OK,but just ok...it lasted just a little longer than my cheapo drugstore one.Honestly,the only reason to buy this is the color,because this is the best and most believable brown I've ever seen {and I've seen alot!}

Pressed Powders -Lola Cosmetics - Pressed Powder
slicedbread13 1/2/2007 9:04:00 PM
I've just tried this tonight so bear with me...(I should have waited a week or more to write this review, but what the hey, right?!)First off,I bought this at Ulta, where the women working there are obsessed with Red Earth makeup!{Yuck...WAAAY too thick and yellow-y...makes me look like death warmed over,HA!} So I took a chance and got some Lola powder in French Pink, just because it's one of the first powders I've ever seen to have pink in it instead of yellow {not everyone has yellow undertones, hear that, makeup companies?!!} The powder itself is REALLY beautiful...I don't know why this stuff is so underated! It's soft and silky, and gives you a beautiful glow,NOT CHALKY AT ALL....it looks like porcelain!!My skin looks smooth and healthy, not thick and powdery. It seems to control oil pretty well so far {I'm not expecting a miracle here, but I need a powder that can control my oilies for at least a little while.} And last but certainly not least, the red compact..oh,it's GORGEOUS!! Is it expensive at $28?Yes! Is that cute little puff that's too big for the compact worthless?HAHA,absolutely! But IS this stuff worth is?Yes.

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Girl's Day
slicedbread13 11/7/2006 3:48:00 AM
Strange why not alot of girls liked this blush...because I LOVE it! It's this gorgeous pinkish/orangish color with hints of sparkly gold in it!But don't let the 'orangish' drive you away...I am an extremely fair skinned girl with pink undertones, and it looks wonderful on me!Just a little bit will do...and by the way,it looks good as eyeshadow too!

Powder -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation
slicedbread13 9/19/2006 2:46:00 PM
This was my very first mineral makeup experience, and a crappy one to tell the truth!I'm all for natural looking skin, but this stuff leaves you with grayish (yes,I said grayish)frosty, shiny, disco ball skin!I can always tell when someone is wearing mineral makeup, because their face looks so frosty.(Kind of ironic that mineral makeup is tooted as the most natural looking, but in reality is the most unnatural looking, but anyways.)IMO,I think liquid foundation with a light hand looks much more natural than this. The coverage for this was next to nothing, and the lightest shade 'natural ivory' had a bizarre grayish tint to it making me look like a dead fish!About 15 minutes after I put this on,my skin took a turn for the worst and became extremely oily..God,I looked bad!Maybe someday I'll try another mineral makeup..hopefully it will be better than this.

Powder -Neutrogena - mineral sheers mineral powder foundation-fair to light
slicedbread13 7/1/2006 8:14:00 PM
I don't know if I would buy this stuff...my mom bought this and didn't like the coverage,so she gave it to me.I thought the built in brush and all was very cool, and I could carry it around in my purse, hassle free!I have it in fair to light, which my mom said was the lightest they had.I naturally have white ghost pale skin,so this stuff was too dark for me.If you take a tissue and wipe most of it off,it's not SO bad...the coverage could be better, though.Looks very natural, but would probably look better if I had darker skin.I think I'd use this only if I ran out of MY foundation.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Superstay lipcolor
slicedbread13 4/11/2006 10:38:00 PM
This has got to be my favorite out of all the 'semi-permanent' lipsticks!I used Cover Girl Outlast only once years ago,and hated how thick and nasty it felt on my lips after only one coat! Then I tried Max Factor's Lipfinity, and I love it,and still continue to use it. When I saw the reviews for this new lipstick,I had to buy it and check it out for myself, because I only wear the stay on lipsticks (regular lipsticks are so goopy and sticky and nasty and get all over everything...yuck!)The color selection of this stuff isn't that great, but it's new after all,and I was looking for a simple red anyways.I couldn't decide between Flame and Cherry, but I decided on Flame. When I opened it up,the smell was very nice, almost fruity, and the consistency was very thin, which worried me...(MF and CG's are very thick.)It was so thin,I had to apply it SEVERAL TIMES to get the desired red I was looking for! That bothered me,because I know that I'm using so much more of it,I'm gonna have to buy this stuff alot more than my Lipfinity. It took a few minutes for it to dry,and it didn't look so great, but when I applied my glossy aftercoat...it looked fabulous! The gloss on the same wand as the lipstick is GENIUS!No more running around trying to find where it is,when it's right there on the wand! While Flame was not the red I was looking for,(it's just a tad to orange for me),it IS nice. And best of all,it didn't feel all tight and dry like CG and MF!Granted, you can feel it a little, but not nearly as much so as the others! The only con of this lipstick that I see so far is it's so thin you have to keep reapplying layer after layer,so you will run out of this stuff alot quicker than the others and have to rebuy every few weeks.Other then that, this stuff rocks!Highly recommended!<3

slicedbread13 4/11/2006 3:43:00 AM
Love, love,LOVE this stuff! It makes my skin soooo soft and smooth, and the scent really does calm me and help me sleep! When you have insomia like me and you want to stay away from the meds, you will try anything to help relax you..so I use this and the Regenerating lotion every night right before bed,and a nice hot cup of something and I'm good to go!
