Mascara -Revlon - Lash Fantasy Mascara - Copper Fantasy

This has a primer that you let dry a minute before applying the color. As with some dual mascaras, this one does not cause the primer to crack and crumble which is nice. The color is a lighter brown color, very nice w/ neutrals and it even showed up on my black lashes. It doesn't give a dramatic look, a little thicker but not too much length. I'd bbuy it again simply because it's a more natural looking mascara on me, I am sure the black is wonderful.

Primer/ Corrector -Avon - The Matter the Better
rated 3 of 5

Next to MK, this does a pretty good job at controlling the oilies. It's main ingredient is alcohol so your skin must be super oily to use it. I did have some dry patches show up after two uses but a moisturizer at night corrected it. It is in a pump, a white lotion that dries very quickly. Kinda streaks if you don't smooth it out fast enough. Overall, it does mattify pretty well and it's my second choice of a mattifier. So if I couldn't get my first (MK) and couldn't afford Matte Scientist by Origins then I would go for this one. It's much better than their previous Pore Fection Mattifier.

Moisturizers -Avon - Maximum Moisture Super Hydrating Gel
rated 4 of 5

This has been my answer for the dry patches caused by Retin A Micro. I mix just a pea sized amount with some Spenco 2nd Skin and rub all over my face at night after I apply the Retin A. It really works well by itself too though, very moisturizing and I suppose I'll need to use it alone in the winter. I hate cream mositurizers on my face, feels like it's clogging my pores so this gel is a lightweight cooling one I have no problems with.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Color Juice in Cabana Cooler
rated 5 of 5
siamesekiss 8/31/2003 8:41:00 AM

Was kinda scared of the color at first in the tube since it has a greenish/gold tint to it. But I am loving it! It's not too sparkly and suprisingly stays on a while. Looks best over a brown/neutral l/l or l/s. By itself it doesn't look right on me, brings out the ruddiness in my complexion but it's a great every day daytime gloss.

Blush -Avon - Be Blushed - NATURAL GLOW
rated 3 of 5
siamesekiss 5/27/2003 8:21:00 AM

This one was better than Hint of TInt because it's a more bronze color, almost like a highlighter. It has some sheen to it so I do not think it would be appropriate for professional offices but it's great for summer. The color is a bronze/gold color and looked nice on my FFF/MMM skin. The way I can describe it would be it looked like I had maybe be in the sun but not a sun burn type color, more like a starting to tan color. The gel is easy and doesn't streak. This tube is going to last me forever so I don't think I will be buying it again.

Blush -Avon - Be Blushed - HINT OF TINT
rated 2 of 5

This looked great on the model in the catalog but of course the results were different at home. In the tube it looks like a burgundy color. It turned fuscia on me, making me look like I had an awful sun burn on my cheeks. Since it has some sheen to it, it really drew attention to my cheeks. The tube is great and the actual gel is nice but this color is awful. I don't think FFF or MMM could wear this unless vey very sparingly.

Styling Products -Physique - Frizz Control Curl Cream
rated 4 of 5
siamesekiss 5/27/2003 8:13:00 AM

Got this as a sample and used it after washing my hair at night. Since my hair is so heavy, I normally put clips in it to lift my roots up so I did this w/ the cream. Applying the cream was easy, it is thick and slightly sticky but the results are worth it. My wavy hair has now got curls and is no where near as frizzy as it normally is. The product dries slightly hard but a little finger combing takes care of that easily. One thing I can say is to pay attention to your ends. I thought combing through would put product there but the cream stays where you put it. I ended up having frizzy ends. I'll definetely buy this once I used up all my other supposedly frizz control products. I am sure it will be a staple from here on out.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Outlast
rated 5 of 5
siamesekiss 4/30/2003 5:31:00 PM

Tried this in misty mauve which is a shimmery light pink. I can definetely say that it was much lighter on my lips than it was on the packaging and even how it looked in the tube. It didn't feel drying like so many long lasting lippies I have tried so that was a plus. I put it on about 6 PM and it was still on the next morning when I woke up, despite having applied the moisture stick only once. The downsides in my opinion is 1) the color wasn't true and 2) having a separate moisture stick you have to reapply like a lippie. I'd buy it again if I found a nice color that looked good both in and out of the tube.

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
rated 4 of 5
siamesekiss 4/30/2003 5:26:00 PM

I only got a sample of this but it was enough for two washings. Surprisingly it was not greasy at all and it kinda felt like I wasn't stripping my skin of moisture. The next day I had a new pimple on my chin though so I don't know what caused it. It's kinda pricey so I will probably just stick to what's been working for me.

Treatments -L'Oreal - ColorSpa Moisture Actif [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I used this as a highlighter, wanted a streaky look. My hair is dark brown and I chose shade #32 Light Ash Brown. I applied it with Igia color brush. It did not come out streaky but that's because of the color brush. Had I used a mascara wand or my fingers, it would have streaked. The color is a lovely light brown so it looks like i have been in the sun and lightened it. The hair underneath is still darker but they blend well so it looks very natural. My thick hair turned out very shiny too which was nice and there's no bad smell. I'd really reccomend this brand if you do at home color. The only downside is that it is a typical Casting bottle where you have to screw in the bottom and click. The point is too pointy but since I don't plan on using it for all over color, that didn't really matter.

Liquid -Revlon - Skinlights Diffusing Tint [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5

I got this as a sample in Buff. It was an almost exact match and a lot less shimmery than I thought it would be. In fact, it just had very little shimmer at all which was nice since I put it on during the day. It's great for sheer coverage and does on w/o streaks. I also expected it to increase the oily look of my skin but it didn't at all. I used Jane powder over it and I really like the natural look of it.

Primer/ Corrector -Origins - Matte Scientist
rated 4 of 5
siamesekiss 4/20/2003 10:11:00 PM

This comes in a small glass bottle, no pump which would be useful, and works pretty well. Out of all the matte products I have tried I am rating this as my second choice. After applying a small amount all over my face, I only needed a light touch up on my nose five hours later. So far no breakouts and it doesn't have a scent which is a plus. The downside besides the bottle which I found to be a little messy, is that it's $20. I would estimate it would last me a month using it every day. I;d definetely buy it again if my first choice was not available.

Lotions/ Creams -Scentual Pleasures - Body Silk Formula
rated 4 of 5
siamesekiss 4/17/2003 10:27:00 AM

All my samples were biosilk which I found to be slightly greasy but not overwhelmingly bad so I would purchase again. Banana Cream Pie-just smells sweet but not much like banana. Toasted marshmallow-very lovely sweet scent but I smelled more like chocolate than marshmallows. Cherry Cola-great scent, just like the name. Smores-nice weet scent but I was told I smelled like marshmallow w/o chocolate. Choco Covered Strawberries-my least favorite scent, it smelled kinda sour and not like chocolate anything. All were very long wearing which I was impressed with, and the customer service is excellent so I will definetely purchase again. I'll also update when I try more scents.

Masks -Burt's Bees - Green Goddess Herbal Spa Clay Mask [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
siamesekiss 3/11/2003 9:29:00 PM

This was in a sample pak I got and I did not like the fact that it had to be mixed w/ water. That may be lazy of me but I don't like messes and want a quick fix. The smell was awful, it seriously smelled like old sneakers to me. I can tell no difference in my skin and in fact I had a few breakouts in the two days after I masked. I won't be purchasing this product.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - O'Keeffe's Working Hands
rated 5 of 5

I saw this in a sample tube at Walgreens so for $.99 I thought it wouldn't hurt to try it out on my very dry callused feet. After only one night of rubbing it in and putting socks on, my feet were sooo soft in the morning! It has no scent and is a rich creamy thick cream in an easy to squeeze tube. I cannot wait to find larger tubes of this stuff and stock up, it really did the trick.
