this stuff smells lovely! sorta fruity. i got a sample of this after having tried celestial and imperialis, and i wish i had bought this instead. it is very, very light, but enough for my oily skin in the winter. with this stuff, a little goes a long way, it sinks in very quickly, and does not leave me shiny a few hrs later! perfect! i just wish it wasn't so expensive. i am going to use the rest of the sample and then decide if i will purchase it. hopefully nothing changes! since a few parts of my face are extremely dry (sometimes near my mouth and nose) i might use imperialis in conjunction with this during the day, but i am afraid of the smells mixed. edit: i would not recommend mixing the 2 scents together. after using them both to combat both types of my skin, i wanted to wash my face right away to get rid of the smell.
Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
sarahcurll 12/22/2009 4:11:00 PM
i went to mac on a whim to get my eyes done, and the makeup artist used this and i was very impressed. i asked her if it was difficult to use, and she said yes, but if u use an angled brush it is much easier. it made my eyes POP. i went back to purchase it, along with the mac brush 263, and i am so happy i did! it is suprisingly very easy to use- i am a makeup newbie really. i had purchased gel eyeliners from avon and those were okay, but the texture was much thicker and you could not really use it to create perfect looking eyeliner. the color is a solid black, and i love it! i hope it does not dry out too quick on me though. it lasts all day and does not smudge. this is so much easier to use than a liquid liner and i love you can make it as thick as you want.
Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Midnight Fantasy Britney Spears
sarahcurll 12/19/2009 1:03:00 PM
ok, so i got this as a gift and was hesitant about opening it because i had 2 other britney spears perfumes which i was not fond of at all, curious and fantasy.. it is too sweet for me, but not nearly as sweet smelling as the original fantasy. i might use it to spray on my clothes while hanging in the closet, but i cannot spray this on myself..it is just not "me". the bottle and box are really gorgeous though, which is probably why my mom got it for me- it has me written all over it,cept for the actual scent. i am giving it 3 lippies because it IS a nice smell, my mom and my sis like it, but i am just more of a "spicy" scented person. i tried to get used to the smell but cannot. instead, i spray it on my clothes that i hang up in my closet so it fades but leaves a sweet smell.
i haven't tried many victoria's secrets makeup products, but i really like this blush. i am not a blush person at all- i can never pick a color that looks good on my skin. i am light skinned with pinkish/neutral undertones. i went in and asked the salesperson if she could help me find a blush that would look well on me and she immediately pulled out a huge container with pearls of blush in it that looked beautiful, but i said no since i saw it had gold in it, and the last blush i purchased (milani mineral luminious) had too much gold in it for me.....so then we tried the giddy blush trio and i fell in love immediately. it is very sheer and gives a nice natural glow to the face. it looks like i just went to a quick jog and am flushed. it is not too shimmery at all and looks really great, especially for work. it comes with 3 different shades of pink, and i think it cost about $14 or so. The case is fine, the only downside is that It would be nice if it came with some type of blush brush for when I am not home. The staying power is pretty good, but I would like to try it with some type of primer since my skin is oily and I am always wiping my face down, which removes the makeup so it is sort of hard to tell how long it stays... anyway, this is long, but i would give it a try! very pretty.
I tried this after finding celestial is too heavy and greasy for a day time winter moisturizer for me..at first, i started to break out but it went away after a couple of weeks or so. it feels very light and moisturizes very well on your face, does not leave you feeling greasy, at first. the smell reminds me of herbal japanese sweet tea, and the substance is somewhat liquidy. it does a good job of mositurizing, however nothing amazing. a few hrs into the day i find myself having to wipe the shine off my face with the oil sheets. one day i left for work without using it, and at first my cheeks were a little tight, but the feeling went away and i went a whole day without feeling greasy. i am not fond the of container because no matter how careful you are product gets on the sides of the jar and starts to crust. i wish it came in a pump bottle. i think this is a good moistuizer but just not for me. i will continue to use it for the winter and just deal with shine. it does nothing amazing for me so i would not repurchase.
i have oilly skin that gets dry in the winter and gave this a try- it is a little too heavy for me, but doable as long as you do not add too much. the scent is light and pleasant. i might return this for imperialis, but i also might keep this for overnight use and spot treatment for where my skin is really dry, since it does moisturize really well. i have only been using it for a few days and already my skin is glowing and much brighter and softer. maybe i can get used to feeling of the oils on my face. i will be sure to update after i give it a few more days or so..waiting to see if this will break me out..hopefully not. i can't justify giving this a bad rating since it seems like a great moisturizer, just not perfect for me. the only con is that i wish it were cheaper, but it is amongst the cheapest ones available at lush. the tub style is not the best since things can get in there, but i read that someone suggested using a small cheese spreader for it, which is a good idea. update: i use this at night only, as it is too moisturzing for my face, but during the night it works wonders. i LOVE the smell of this!
if you are looking for pure gold glittery nails, this is it! i apply 2 layers and my nails look they are covered in gold sequins. i bought this for the holidays, and i think it is really pretty. it is gold but it also has touches of other colors but they are very subtle and minor (bluish purple and green). i think it looks really good with 2 coats, but it can get a little thick, even when new so be sure to apply it quickly. fortunately it dries evenly and is not chunky looking. this is my first china glaze purchase and i am very happy with it. edit: the first day i used this, it chipped so much, so i had to take off 2 lippies. i used a basecoat and top coat and it still chipped, and it was literally after only about 10 hrs. i keep on using it and it seriously chips the first day i use it!
after giving degree's clinical deodorant a try, i wanted to check this one out since it was on sale. I never had much luck with Dove products, and this one proves the same. It is the middle of fall, not hot out at all, and yet I still sweat with this product- not all the time, but when I get into my office it is sometimes warm in the AM for a few minutes, and I randomly sweat. I got the green tea scent, and I am not too fond of the scent. I will not be repurchasing this. I will probably go back to Degree in the summer, since it is cold out I might just buy cheaper regular deodorant.
i purchased this because i am horrible at picking out blush, i never know which color is right for me, but i read many reviews about this color being perfect for almost everyone. however, i think it is too pink for me, and also, i am not a huge fan of the gold shimmer. i think it is a bit too much for me, maybe in the summer it would be better. however saying that, i will still use the blush because it's not horrible, and if i don't put a lot on the shimmer is not too obvious. I do like the texture of this blush and would probably try out another color some other time, when i find a color that suits me. The Brush is pretty small and I should probably be using a better brush to apply this with.
i bought this because 1. i love halloween 2. i love purple 3. i love glitter 4. smelled delicious 5. i never used a bath bomb and was curious. i used 1/2 of a bar since i wasn't sure how much i really needed, and also, my tub is really tiny. the smell was really lovely, and the water looked really pretty (FULL OF shimmer, light gray- i couldn't stop looking at it), but the downside is that it does stain the tub, and it's nothing light that you can just rinse off with water. I am not really into taking baths (only because I want a huge one I can relax in)so I would probably not purchase this again.
Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - Beauty Secrets - Nail Polish Dryer
sarahcurll 10/11/2009 9:09:00 AM
this product really does what it claims to do. it usually takes me about 2 hrs for my nails to dry, and this time i put on a base coat, 2 thick coats of opi, and then a top coat, and sprayed this a few times, and my nails were dry in about an hr, and then i went off to bed,and no smudging in my sleep. i got this for real cheap at Sallys and I would purchase this again if i ran out.
I picked this item up randomly, without really looking at the other solid hair shampoos. I just love anythign with seaweed in it and wanted to give it a try. This soap latheres SO WEll, and the scent is really nice, although it is very difficult to try and describe. It reminds me of the sea, and is very earthy. It makes my thin hair much more fluffier, and leaves you hair squaky clean. It does tend to be a little drying to the hair, so I would recoommend a conditioner when using it. I wish that the puck actually fit inside the tin so that I would not have to keep it out of my shower. I think as I keep using it more it will eventually fit, but Lush should just make the tins bigger.I also do like the fact that there is nothing to throw away after I am done using this. It seems like the puck is going to last a long time and I will really get my money's worth. edit: i find this too drying even for my oily hair, to use on a daily basis. i will use it about once a week until it is gone, and then for a clarifying shampoo stick with sauve..much cheaper and does the same thing pretty much.
my hair stylist used this in my hair when i got it done and it did not give it tons of body, however it did make my hair smell really nice and appear to be really smooth. i tried the generic version (from sallys) but the smell was awful and did not have the same impact that this stuff did. i found it for 20% off and decided to give this a try. the smell is AMAZING- very light yet sweet. this does wonders for my hair. it makes it smooth and yet DOES give it the volume that it needs, nothing amazing but much better than almost anything else i have tried. i love that it is vegan, and it does not leave my hair sticky, or with any residue. definately worth the money!
i loved the regular lash blast but it tend to flake shortly after using it, and at night my eyes would be horribly itchy and covered with so many black specks. that is why i gave this a try. the reg. version plumps up my eyelashes so well, this one, not so much. also, it does not come off whatsoever, even after using really good eye makeup remover. i guess i got what i wanted, something that would not flake. i might keep using this just because i don't feel like exchanging it, and i don't want to waste it either. i seriously do not have to use mascara every day now. the downside to that is that i have noticed some eyelashes sticking to my hands when i wash my face in the shower, and they rip out.
this scent is amazing for the fall and winter. seductive, spicy (in a good way) and sexy.
