Concealers -Neutrogena - 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes

Eh, I don't know why I used this product for so long. My dark circles can get pretty bad sometimes and this did not do much for that. The staying power is not good by itself and I always had to use a translucent powder over it. Doing that magnified any fine lines I have (I am only 25!) and it looked crappy. I finally gave up on this product. I will use whatever I have left for times I will be outdoors and want just a little coverage. The packaging is good and price is reasonable. I replaced this product with Prescriptives concealer. Definitely pricier, but worth it!
Oooo, one of my HG fragrances for sure. I think the reviewer below has described this perfume to a tee, but I will add a little extra. Addict reminds me of a rogue lady sharpshooter in a dusty saloon or doing the you-know-what in a dimly-lit back alley of a big city. I guess this may not be appealing to some, but it is to me for those certain occasions. The scent is heavily intoxicating. I have been approached by both men and women asking me what I am wearing and saying they just love the scent. They key is to not over do it and to only dab it on your pulse points. I like that it is also a little sweet smelling and this adds femininity. It has taken me a few years to finish because I do not see it as an every day fragrance. However, the perfume actually smells a little better with age and the staying power is superb. I hope to purchase more during the Holiday season!
These lipglasses get 3.5 lippes from me. I really love the color selection and the tube is pretty sleek. However, I just cannot get over how incredibly sticky and goopy they are. It feels gross going over my lips and the formula is not very conditioning, so it winds up sitting on top. I like my glosses to sink in, at least a little. The smell and taste is acceptable compared to other HE glosses and the staying power is pretty decent using lipliner and the lip glass over. MAC lipglass works best for me at formal functions or parties where no food will be served. It lasts forever if you just leave it alone. MIGHT purchase again if it is a HG color I can't find from another brand.
Cleansers -Derma E - Glycolic Facial Cleanser with Marine Plant Extracts
rxqueen011 12/3/2009 11:23:00 AM
This cleanser worked really really well for me for about a month and a half. I was previously using Derma E's Tea Tree Wash, which also worked for a while, but eventually broke me out and dried my skin. I've never used a facial cleanser that is applied to dry skin so I was very hesitant at first. It actually feels quite nice going on and leaves the skin very smooth and refreshed. Afterwards, I removed the cleanser with a luke-warm washcloth to exfoliate and then rinsed my face with cool water to remove any traces of the cleanser. It also kept my redness at bay, which, for a glycolic cleanser, is surprising. My breakouts cleared and pores seemed to unclog. All my friends and family noted that my skin was glowing and looked great. THEN, small cycts began to develop on my cheeks! This is a sure sign of aggrivation from products because any hormonal cycts I get only develop on my chin or lower jaw. What a shame! I loved this cleanser because it is cruelty-free and mostly natural. The breakouts ceased after discontinuing use. I'm realizing any products containing algins just don't agree with my skin.
I bought this product last X-mas and really enjoy using it during the holidays. To me, the cooling sensation is what makes this lotion a standout. It moisturizes well enough without being too heavy. The scent, while strong at first, is still pleasant and wears off after a while (Which I like. I don't want to smell like peppermint all day!) My favorite time to wear this lotion is right after I shave and am heading to bed. It does not burn after shaving. I have the 3-in-1 shower gel and really love that, too.
Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal Waterproof
rxqueen011 12/1/2009 12:43:00 PM
This is a pretty decent mascara. At first I really hated it because it clumped and was a pain to get off my lashes. It also has a strong perfumey smell. I bought the waterproof Voluminous at the same time and wound up layering the two, Voluminous WP over entire lash and then Colossal WP on the tips. This worked OK a couple times, but my lashes looked heavy and were just not defined enough. I think it is because both are WP formulas and seem to dry VERY quickly to where multiple coats is almost impossible. Anyway, I wear Fiberwig almost daily, and one night before going out I decided to add the Colossal WP over the Fiber Wig. SUCCESS! My lashes remained lengthened, defined and the tips kept their curl. I will use this combo from now on because it looks great and the Colossal is easier to remove from the tips than the base. The packaging is ok, wish it were slimmer and more discrete for taking out and about. It's cute in my makeup case, though.
I really want to give this product 5 lippies, but can't, due to the fragrance and parabens. Those two things aside, I LOVE this spray. I like that it is oil-free and does not irritate my skin. I spray it on my face after applying all my makeup, then I buff it out using a skunk brush. It really sets my mineral makeup and makes my skin look flawless. I used to just spray it on then pat with my hands, but it always looked weird until I used a skunk brush. The spray bottle is nice and gives off a fine mist, which reduces product waste. It is also dirt cheap considering how long it should last you. I poured some in a mini spray bottle and leave it in the fridge so that it gives me a nice pick-me-up during those hot and humid afternoons. I really wish the fragrance was removed, though. It is totally overpowering and not pleasant smelling at all. It goes away after 5 minutes, so it's not too bad. Do not hesitate to try this out, especially if you are considering purchasing MAC's Fix +
This is one of the worst products I have ever used. At first I was overjoyed because my dark circles slowly started to fade. After 3 to 4 weeks of use (following the directions exactly), this product began to burn whenever I applied it to my eye areas. It burned so bad that it actually became raw and eventually scabbed over once I discontinued use. It also gave me milia and one never went away! STEER CLEAR of this crappy product.
That's it! I wil never purchase this product again. These strips have been giving me hell the last few times of use and after reading articles about how they really work, it's time to throw them in the trash. In the past, I was always very satisfied with the product. Easy to apply, dried quickly, gunk was always prominent on the strip. The updated version of these are terrible. I can't get these things to stay on my nose without sticking to my fingers. Then I have to blast more water on my nose and the sticky stuff starts running down my face to my mouth. It tastes TERRIBLE! THEN, it takes forever to dry. The results are still satisfying, but what's the point if it only removes half the gunk? I will stick with witch hazel and AHA/BHA.
This is the best mask that I've used for treating acne and clogged pores. It is the only Murad product (and I've tried DOZENS) that I would consider repurchasing. First off, I really like the consistency of the mask. It's easy to spread on the face without wasting too much product. It does not sting or irritate my skin, which is a feat to accomplish by itself! I leave it on for at least 20 minutes because I feel that this amount of time lends me the greatest results. It does not dry me out too badly, so I am able to use it during the cooler months. My pores look instantly tighter afterwards and the following day. It also leaves my face very smooth and redness is reduced. Clears pimples quickly! There are a few cons, which is why I give this product 4 lippies instead of 5. The smell of the sulfur takes some getting used to. It stinks up my towels after blotting my face dry. It lingers after toning and moisturizing. I even smell it the FOLLOWING morning after my regimen. Secondly, it does not fully come off my face unless I use a washcloth to remove. I don't like doing this because it irritates my skin. Plus, I usually lightly exfoliate before the mask so that the product sinks in. Lastly, it is so pricey, but I haven't found anything that works as well as this. I am incredibly thankful for this mask!
I feel compelled to review this product due to my extreme dislike for the color. It looks beautiful in the pan, but unfortunately for me I bought it online and did not get to test it first. It looks ashy blue on my medium/tan skin. My only use for it is patting it on over Victoria Secret's Opal Shimmer Cream Shadow. Even then it's not something I can wear often. I will have to experiment with NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks, which might help transform this otherwise boring shade. Wish it had some gold shimmer to it. Packaging and consistency are on par with their other shadows. Can't comment on the staying power because I have not worn this without a base.
I bought this duo at least two years ago when a "friend" of mine over-waxed my used-to-be thick brows. I was in Ulta purchasing some other Smashbox products and the SA suggested I try this in Taupe. She filled them in for me, and I was pleasantly suprised! It has taken two years to regrow my brows to where I don't really need this anymore BUT I still love it and use it any time I leave the house wearing makeup. It really ties in the final look. The taupe looks natural against my medium/olive skin and strawberry blonde hair. I wish I could just buy the shadow because I have hardly made a dent in the wax. It has a tendancy to make my brows look too dark and shiny, using even the smallest amount. Definitely give this a try!! I just ran out of the shadow and wear this almost daily. Anyone know a substitute for the taupe shadow? The complementary brush works wonderfully, too.
Iris is a beautiful light peachy pink shimmer lipstick. On my medium/tan skin it looks more frosty than pigmented so I do not wear it alone. However, it looks amazing with BE Buxom Lipgloss in Amber. Really gorgeous and makes the shade stand out, but not appear so frosty. It glides on like a dream. I bought it on sale at Cherry Culture and would definitely purchase again.
I really didn't care for this product. While the formulation is smooth and rich, the color looks horrible on me! Thalia is very deep rosey/mauve with strong blue undertones, and makes my teeth look yellow and skin jaundiced! Be very weary of buying this online because the swatch on the website looks nothing like the true color. The scent is really strong, too.NYX has much nicer shades than this. I would give it a 3, but the taste and smell is horrid.
I really like this eyeshadow. I bought it on ebay and hadn't seen a swatch in person. It is not peach on me at all, but a rosey pink/gold duochrome. The gold really stands out, but not in a bad way. It is an EXACT dupe of Smashbox's Golden Orchid eyeshadow, which has been discontinued for a while now. I recently bought two of those on ebay so I wish I hadn't of purchased this and saved money for another color. Guess I won't run out, though! Definitely give this shadow a try because it is a gorgeous color. Very nice on medium tones.
