Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor - Faithful Fawn

This is the first long-wear lipstick I have bought. I'm going to a conference in Chicago and it is supposed to be in the high 90's and high humidity and I don't want color slipping off my mouth. I tried out Faithful Fawn two days ago and so far so good. The color is the perfect "lip color only much richer"--a pinky browny plum. It DOES last all day. In fact I had to brush my lips along with my teeth at night to get it off. But overall I am VERY pleased. I'd catch glances of myself during the day and my lips always looked good. You do have to reapply the accomanying glosss--or other gloss, a few times. We'll see how it works in Chicago. Now about my naturally frizz-prone hair....
Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Concealer

A good concealer is a huge necessity for me. It's the dark cirles under my eyes. I have looked LONG AND HARD for the perfect one, and, fo far, this is a winner. I always put down a layer of eye cream first, to moisturize, and let it sink in for a minute, then dot this on. The application brush is easy to handle and helps to deposit the right amount in the right places. Then I pat it in with a pinky--very patiently--and voila! Circles gone. I'm very pleased.
Fianlly! I broke down and bought a decant on ebay. It did not disappoint. I am the type of person who is peculiarly fond of smelling tire stores, freshly tarred roads and gasoline. I also like certain, CERTAIN, strong floral scents. Like in-your-face tuberose. An absolute riot of flowers. Well, this speaks to both these likes. It is a mood-altering scent for me! I love the way it evolves. Unfortunately, it does not last more than 3 hours on me. Nonetheless, I have just bought a partial bottle on ebay, because I found myself craving more and don't think this craving will soon go away.
I love the very, VERY Pear of this, which it definitely shouts. But on me it disappears after 20 minutes. Maybe the EDT would last longer? It does mix well with Eau d'Hadrien. If it lasted longer I'd give it more raves, because I do love the scent.
I'm glad I didn't spring for a more expensive straightening iron like I was almost tempted to. Why would you want to when this one is so great? Easy to use and very effective. Smooth and silky hair is the result. From straw to gold in minutes (with protective product). Easy to travel too.
I bought the starter set at Sephora last weekend. This is the way to go as far as getting your money's worth. You get four jars of product, one bottle of skin prep stuff and three good brushes. It is essential that you FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Less IS more. You should watch the DVD that also comes with this set. (I had a problem with the DVD though, because, for some reason, I couldn't get it to play a segment near the end; I had to fast forward through the whole thing.) I am a good looking 52, and have a few shallow wrinkles near my eyes. The product does not look good when I apply it there, as it tends to accentuate them. It does, however, look great on the rest of my face. It makes my skin look smooth and healthy. Flawless. And the Warm color that comes with the set gives me a gorgeous glow--but it MUST be used sparingly. I also apply the warmth to my lips and follow up with a colorless lip gloss, or a gold tinted one. The brushes are good, but the Kabuki brush does tend to shed a little. If it should shed a lot I will return it and expect to be given another one.
Blush -Flirt - Big Deal Lip & Cheek Tint in Tini Bikini

The packaging is well-designed and attractive. The product at first feels a little greasy, but once "patted" in it is just fine. It does blend in very well. I prefer the color Berry Flair to this one, however, because Tiny Bikini just doesn't really show up that well on my skin. As said before, a lot like Nars multiples, but at a fraction of the price (and size I might add.)
Hair Styling Tools -Conair - HotTools Ceramic Flat Iron

This is the first straightening iron I have bought and I am very pleased. I did not like the packaging, as it was molded stiff plastic and very hard to open. Other than this, the iron worked very well once I got the hang of it. I used a product to protect my hair while ironing it and kept the heat on very low, at times unplugging it. The results are BEAUTIFUL! I have very thick, past sholder- length hair, combination wiry and fine, frizzy hair. If I let it air dry it looks like a brillo pad--no, worse. Then I take the iron to it and the result is silky, smooth, shiny hair. About 4 inches longer than before ironing. This is my MAGIC WAND. I see no reason to buy a more expensive one. Amazingly, it also keeps my hair relatively smooth in the humidity. I love it!
After trying this at Barney's I bought the 1/8 remains of a bottle on Ebay. I used a normal amount before going to the clinic for a chest x-ray and an EKG and thought I saw the technicians making faces. I then realized that this is NOT appropriate for daytime. It is something you would wear to a crowded nightclub or an outside event. (Not for a dinner date!) It has a carnival aura to it and can cause headaches. That's it! Wear it in Rio to Carnivale! I'll stick to Fleurs de Citronnier.
Eyeliner -American Beauty - Ultra-Easy Automatic Eyeliner

Anxious to try this new Estee Lauder-like brand at nice mid price point. Needed an eyeliner that wasn't too hard, because at 51 my lids are going soft on me. I was hoping to find a liquid, or cake eyeliner, but liked the Auburn shade to accent my blue eyes. They have good testers in the store, and it worked well on my hand. At home it went on my lashline smoothly (unusual on the "first run")and I am very pleased with the color. It lasted 8 hours and still looked great. No problem with removal either. Now I'm ready to try other American Beauty or Flirt products.
Liquid -Revlon - Skinlights Diffusing Tint [DISCONTINUED]

I am on my third bottle of this. In the winter I use the Ivory, in the summer, Buff. Sometimes I mix the two together, and sometimes I mix it with moisturizer. It always looks great, none of those bad surprises when you get outside and look at your skin in the car mirror and you see streaks. Rubber wedgy is good blender. Nice, mild scent.
