Lipstick -NARS - Schiap
raspberrysorceress 10/6/2011 7:11:00 AM
The absolute hottest of hot pinks, Schiap is not for the faint of heart. It's extremely long wearing; it doesn't fade and is nearly impossible to remove, even with waterproof makeup remover. I own both this and MAC's Girl About Town and I can safely say that Schiap blows it out of the water; it is so much more brighter, vibrant and pink. As others have said, this calls for a dramatic look, but a very sophisticated one at that. This is such a beautiful shade and it's a shame none of the pictures do it justice. This is my absolute favourite lipstick and I'd have no hesitation repurchasing it when mine (eventually) runs out. Fun fact: Schiap lipstick is named after late fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. François Nars created this lipstick in the likeliness of the colour of the cover of her biography "A shocking Life".

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - translucent loose powder
raspberrysorceress 9/20/2011 9:29:00 PM
I really like this and use it to set my makeup whenever I'm wearing something like chanel pro lumiere or want to have a matte appearance. I love that it's translucent because I'm very fair and most powders are too dark for me and deposit a lot of colour on my skin. This powder is very sheer which is great because it doesn't give you any 'extra' coverage but still sets your foundation beautifully. It can look a little chalky at times and the dispenser is a pain to use, but it's definitely the best loose powder I've tried.

Polishes -OPI - Shorts Story
raspberrysorceress 9/20/2011 9:24:00 PM
The absolute best pink nailpolish ever. Definitely the barbiest of barbie pinks and the formulation is OPI amazing. It's fail proof to apply and dries in under half an hour. None of the pictures on the internet do this colour justice. So beautiful.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
raspberrysorceress 9/19/2011 6:30:00 AM
Apart from being able to be blended well and provide a good medium coverage, I didn't really take to this foundation. The colour range wasn't too good; the lightest shade was too dark for my NW5-10 skintone and I hated the glitter particles. In Australia this cost me $40 which is a bit steep so I definitely won't be buying this again.

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - French Vanilla spf 15
raspberrysorceress 9/19/2011 6:09:00 AM
Yummy! I have this in vanilla and raspberry and I love the smell of them. I'm an avid Carmex user but I can't use that under lipsticks because it's such a wet texture, but these lip balms are perfect. I like putting them on before lipstick because I find that they absorb into the lips really quickly and moisturize them fast. I love the very feint tingly feeling on my lips and how the applicator is small enough to ensure that I don't go outside my lip line. Great.

Lipstick -NARS - Cruising
raspberrysorceress 9/15/2011 8:23:00 AM
I was a bit disappointed with this colour, it just looks so average and like 'nothing' on me. The soft mauve isn't a lot different to my natural lip colour so you can hardly notice when I'm wearing it. I think that because it's so sheer I end up using more which in turn uses it up quicker, which annoys me and makes me want to use it less anyway. I don't use this much now and I probably wouldn't repurchase. Very average.

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst in 070 Soft Nude [DISCONTINUED]
raspberrysorceress 9/15/2011 8:17:00 AM
This is everything I've been looking for in a 'nude' lipstick. Extremely pigmented and creamy, yet light enough without giving the concealer lip look. I really like that I can wear it alone or put a gloss over the top of it (coral reef and this are a match made in heaven) This is such a beautiful colour and definitely one of my favourite natural looking lipsticks. It looks ethereal when teamed with mac's 'peaches' blush - the colours are practically the same and so complimentary. I'm going to repurchase this over and over, I'm completely in raptures over this.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
raspberrysorceress 9/13/2011 7:55:00 PM
I loved using this foundation until I realized just how wrong the color match was. I really like the formulation (I used the one for dry skin) and I think it blends well, stays on a long time and has a nice finish, but I just can't get past the color-matching issue. The lightest shade 'Ivory 001' is way too pink and dark for my NW5-10, and leaves horribly noticeable demarcation on my jaw. If they did lighter, more neutral shade in this I'm sure I would like it more. I wouldn't recommend this if you're colouring is like me.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
raspberrysorceress 9/13/2011 7:43:00 PM
Yeah yeah, we all get it. This is the best eyeshadow palette that ever existed. I don't know why I'm bothering to write a review when it's already so highly-acclaimed, but you know what? I think this thing deserves all the praise it gets. I'm definitely very shy when it comes to eyeshadows; I don't wear them often, I'm rubbish at applying them properly and most of the time I feel that no colours really work with my blue eyes. I can happily say that these are the only shadows I can actually make all of these things possible with. They are so pigmented, frosty, gorgeous, a dream to blend and really easy to apply. There's so much variety and you can pretty much create any look you want with them. Subtle or dramatic, this palette provides it. I just love it. If you're like me and you aren't much of a shadow person but you wish you could be - BUY this! It's the answer to your dreams.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Facial Cleanser
raspberrysorceress 8/27/2011 6:06:00 AM
For some reason the packaging of this bottle made me really want to buy it, but the cliche of 'don't judge a book by it's cover' really runs true here. This is just waaaay too drying. I would use a minimal amount of this in my palm and once it was all washed off my face felt horribly tight and uncomfortable - completely stripped of moisture. I only used this on nights when I had a shower with a full face of makeup, because it's so damn drying that it took it all off for me. It's an okay cleanser, but I wouldn't ever buy it again knowing how tight it made my face feel. There's a difference between a clean face and a dry one.

Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
raspberrysorceress 8/27/2011 5:59:00 AM
Another make up remover that I simply adore from Neutrogena! I use this just about every day. Firstly, it's great for putting on a q-tip (cotton bud) and dabbing at my eyelids when I accidently stab myself in the eye with my mascara wand and get it smudged on my eye. It's also fantastic for cleaning the upper lid area (again, on a q-tip) when I line my eyes with a gel liner and need it to look more precise. Lastly, it removes absolutely all trace of eye make up - I put a little bit on a cotton pad and massage my closed eye with it and it removes EVERYTHING. It's so quick, easy, and convenient. One bottle lasts me 8 months with daily use. It doesn't get much better than this.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
raspberrysorceress 8/27/2011 5:53:00 AM
My absolute favourite make up remover ever! I just love these wipes so much. I hate remover wipes that claim to be oil free and so in turn are really dry and make me pull on my skin, but these wipes are so wet and moist that they literally glide across my skin! There's very minimal fragrance and it doesn't irritate my skin at all. I feel so much more clean faced after this, a little greasy perhaps, but nonetheless it leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh and free of makeup. I repurchase these time and time again and always will.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Peaches
raspberrysorceress 8/26/2011 8:13:00 AM
Pretty self explanatory. A pretty, peachy blush which is perfect for spring or when teamed with coral lips. I like to gently dust this on my cheeks because while this is supposed to be a sheertone blush, I find that on my fair skin (NW5 - NW10) that this can come off VERY pigmented. Yes, it's a bit on the orange side, but you've gotta expect that from a blush named Peaches. It can be a bit difficult to blend, easy to go over the top, but also very possible to look beautiful with! I like it. It's a nice change from your regular pink blushes.

Fragrances -Coty - Jovan Musk for Women
raspberrysorceress 8/26/2011 8:00:00 AM
I keep crawling back to this fragrance after my Grandmother referred me onto it in it's fluorescent orange packaging. She first discovered it in the late seventies, and having forgotten it's name but knowing it began with a 'J' and was characterized by the colour orange, it's always taken on a mysterious persona for me. I purchase expensive perfumes only under special circumstances, with Jovan Musk and it's relentless aroma always being my go between. I don't think I could ever find the words to describe how this smells to me, except that I know out of all the Chanel and other higher end fragrances that have ever been known to me, it is this one that completely encapsulates all my senses. It's that moment when you inhale a scent and you just know you could smell it for the rest of your life and be happy. I just adore it's softness, calmness, it's femininity and it's incapability to overpower. While I may not repurchase it each time I run out, I find solace in knowing I can always return to it and not be out of pocket. It's always there in it's little old glass bottle, waiting to re-live it's glory days once again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Carbon
raspberrysorceress 8/26/2011 7:24:00 AM
I'm one of those people who loves to line my upper lids, and having always used gel liner, I can say that using carbon is much more day-time friendly. Because of it being a shadow you don't need to be so precise with it and it's much easier to apply. I wear this on my upper lash line almost every day to make my eyes look that little bit more defined. I wore this for 12 hours once and it didn't smudge, smear, slide off or break down with my natural eyelid oils. It's soft, subtle, and being not an overly pigmented black it's not at all as harsh than what a liquid/gel liner would be. I love it.
